Chapter 1154

    ?Chapter 1154:

    “Something simple.”

    “You sure?”

“Yeah. I like simple proposal scenes.”

“Like what?” Freya suddenly felt like she might’ve miscalcted everything. Her n wasn’t over-the-top… but calling it “simple” felt like a stretch. Could she really mess up her own proposal?

Ellis pulled her into his arms, speaking half-jokingly, “Like… in bed.”

Freya didn’t respond. She looked visibly exasperated.

“Or like… right now,” Ellis added.

“I’m being serious here,” Freya warned, doubt creeping into her voice. “Don’t mess around.” If she got turned down, she’d be crushed.

“I’m serious too,” Ellis said softly, his lips curving into a gentle smile. And he meant it.

If it was Freya doing the proposing—he’d say yes, no matter the time or ce.

Seeing that he wasn’t teasing, Freya bit her lip. “Most people want a romantic proposal. Why are you so casual about it?”

    “You’re talking about other girls.”

    “Yes.”

    “Do I look like one?”

“Maybe now’s your chance.” Freya’s eyes shifted, barely a flicker, as she offered her reply.

Ellis let out a soft chuckle and tapped her forehead lightly. “You’re really that desperate to steal my role?”

    “Really?”

“I just want to see what your face looks like when you’re shy,” Freya said, pletely deadpan.

All this time, Ellis had never once faltered—she was always the one who blushed when he teased her, never the other way around.

A smile flickered in Ellis’s eyes. “Then you’ll have to try a lot harder.”

Freya went quiet. No matter how hard she pushed, it never worked. They weren’t even in the same league.

“Seriously, you like a simple proposal?” Freya asked again, her thoughts drifting back to the surprise she’d spent weeks crafting.

Ellis gave azy hum in agreement.

“Then let’s start by picking out the rings,” she said, ying out her smokescreen with precision. “When the moment feels right, I’ll just go for it.”

“Proposing’s supposed to be my job.”

“There’s no rule that says it has to be.”

    “I say so.”

“Fine.” Freya nodded sweetly, a picture of innocence on the outside, but her mind was already racing ahead to the twelfth—imagining the look on Ellis’s face when she dropped to one knee.

The two of them stayed curled up together all afternoon, watching movies and chatting like time didn’t exist.
