Chapter 1152

    ?Chapter 1152:

“I grabbed some clothes and daily stuff for Be. Can you take them?”

    “Alright.”

“I also got something for you—”

“No need,” Farrah interrupted tly, cutting him off without a second thought.

She epted the things for Isabe—after all, the child was his daughter. As Isabe’s father, he had every right to contribute. She wasn’t going to stand in the way of that.

But between the two of them? There was nothing left to salvage. Gifts were pointless.

Felipe had expected the answer, but it still stung, a quiet pang of disappointment settling in his chest.

Still, he supposed it was better than holding out the gift only to be turned down face to face.

“Be probably won’t wake up anytime soon. You should go take care of your own things. I’ll let you know once she’s up,” Farrah said, her tone unmistakably dismissive.

    “It’s fine. I’ll wait.”

    Silence fell between them.

Farrah didn’t have the heart to throw him out.

Felipe kept trying to find the right moment to ask her the question in his heart—but none ever came.

Eventually, Farrah caught on. His sidelong nces were far too frequent to go unnoticed.

“If you’ve got something to say, just spit it out,” she said, unwilling to tiptoe around the obvious.

“When I came in, I overheard Ellis saying he’s going to propose to Freya. Is that true?” Felipe finally asked, cautious and deliberate.

Farrah paused. Without even lifting her eyes, she replied coolly, “True or not—it’s none of your business.”

“I was just asking,” he said slowly.

She offered no reply. She didn’t have to guess—clearly, he was fishing for Kristian. Whatever she said now would be passed straight to him.

“What do you think of Ellis?” Felipe tried another angle. “Is he someone Freya can count on for the long haul?”

“Whether he is or isn’t—I don’t know,” Farrah said inly, with no intention of softening the blow. “But he’s definitely more reliable than Kristian.”

She hadn’t spent a ton of time with Ellis, nor had she seen much of the couple together. But judging by the way Freya had changed these past few months, she knew Ellis was someone who brought her joy.

Freya had always been the reserved type. Lately, she’d opened up more than ever. She even smiled more.

“Kristian really was unreliable. Good thing Freya left him,” Felipe said without hesitation, throwing his friend under the bus. “He didn’t even propose properly back then. Thank God Ellis is making up for that regret.”

Farrah didn’t say another word. Once she’d finished folding Isabe’s clothes, she left him downstairs by himself.
