Chapter 1130

    ?Chapter 1130:

She could feel how much he cared. Just as he was about to leave the room, she called out to him, “Captain.”

    “Yes?” he answered, turning back.

“I really like you!” She confessed her feelings.

He lifted a brow and walked back to her side. He yfully pinched her cheek and teased, “A sudden confession like that… makes me wonder if you’ve done something wrong?”

    Freya was speechless.

“Well then, since you said you like me, I’ll let it slide this time,” he said with a grin, pinching her cheek once more.

“No wonder you’ve been single for thirty years!” Freya remarked, feeling like he might actually be even less romantic than she was.

“There’s definitely a reason for that. I’ve been waiting for someone all this time.”

Freya went silent. Once again, she realized that when it came to exchanging words, she was never his match.

Ellis, seeing her at a loss, felt quite pleased. His lips curled slightly as he said, “What’s with that look? Are you really that impatient with how long I’ve been waiting?”

“Go cook,” Freya said, quickly steering the conversation in another direction.

    “I’m getting a little hungry.”

    “Dodging the question?”

“Why bother asking when you already know the answer?”

Ellisughed under his breath. He hadn’t expected her to admit so openly. In Freya’s view, Ellis truly had no ws, aside from his relentless love for teasing her. He had quite the mischievous streak.

“You know, you be like the people you spend time with,” Freya reminded him, speaking seriously. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll start teasing you back someday?”

Ellis gave her an intriguing look. “I’d actually like that.”

He was genuinely curious. What could shee up with to tease him? It would probably be something like that remark about him being single for thirty years for a reason.

“Are you sure?” Freya asked, baffled by his strange invitation.

    Ellis didn’t waver. “Absolutely.”

“What if I bring up your nickname?”

    “Be my guest.”

Ethan wouldn’t tell her what it was. And she hadn’t spoken to Caldwell or Kendra since theirst meeting, so there was no way they had told her. As for Alyssa, she was even less likely to say a word.

“Your mom told me your nickname when I visitedst time,” Freya said casually, deciding to give Ellis a little push.

But Ellis wasn’t buying it. If she’d really known since then, she wouldn’t have waited this long to bring it up.
