    “Have you had any pain during your period this month?” Ellis asked softly, brushing a hand through her hair with tenderness.


    Freya froze for a moment, caught off guard.


    Ellis immediately noticed the slight change in her expression. “What is it?”


    “I haven’t gotten my period yet,” Freya felt a bit uneasy. “Do you think I might be pregnant?”


    Her usual cycle had already passed. She was never more than a day or twote. This had never happened.


    What worried her more was the change in her appetite and the lingering waves of nausea.


    “That’s unlikely,” Ellis replied calmly, his deep voice steady and reassuring. “We only did it twice, and we used protection both times.”


    “But my appetite is off, and I feel a bit nauseous,” Freya admitted, unable to stop her mind from running wild with possibilities.


    Ellis’s expression turned serious.


    He reached for her hand and held it firmly. “Let’s go do a check-up, just to be sure.”


    “No need,” Freya refused. “It’s probably just my cycle acting up from all thete nights. If it doesn’te in a week, then I’ll see a doctor.”


    Ellis wanted to insist, but she stood firm. She’d never liked hospitals, always choosing to tough out minor issues rather than go in for a check-up.


    All day, Freya kept aposed front, but beneath it, she couldn’t shake her uneasiness.


    Ellis could see something was off.


    He quietly looked up how to check for pregnancy without a hospital visit and ended up buying a test kit. The result came back negative.


    Freya let out a deep breath as her tension melted intoplete relief.


    Watching her reaction, Ellis felt a subtle twinge of guilt stir inside him. He moved closer, his voice as calming as ever. “Are you scared of being pregnant?”
