    “Thank you.” Yvonne gave a small nod and smile.


    The door was slightly ajar, so she assumed whoever was inside was expecting her. Without thinking twice, she gently pushed it open.


    Not far away, the server turned a corner in the hallway and exchanged a quick, knowing smile with Shelly.


    From a distance, Shelly watched, her eyes fixed on Yvonne as she stepped into the room. A satisfied smirk curved her lips.


    Inside, Yvonne took a single step and froze. The faces staring back at her werepletely unfamiliar. Not a single person in the room was anyone she recognized. Her brows knitted in surprise.


    A beautiful young woman sat perched on a man’sp, their bodies pressed close in an embrace that left no doubt they weren’t expectingpany.


    The man turned sharply, his piercing gaze locking onto Yvonne.


    “Oh—sorry, wrong room,” Yvonne blurted, quickly spinning around and closing the door behind her.


    She paused in the hallway, frowning. Where was that server? She had intended to ask him what was going on, but he was nowhere to be seen.


    Still feeling unsettled, she returned downstairs to find Margie. It was probably just a mix-up, she told herself, trying to brush it off.


    Yvonne sat down and did her best to enjoy the meal. Margie’s good mood was infectious, and before long, the strange encounter began to fade from her mind.


    After dinner, they strolled through the nearby mall, window-shopping and chatting until they finally stopped at a café to rest.


    Margie scrolled through her phone with a tired sigh. “Ugh, I’m beat.”


    Then her mouth dropped open. “Yvonne, look at this!”


    Yvonne leaned closer to see the screen.


    “That’s Jillian Evans!” Margie eximed. “No wonder she’s all over social mediately—she’s with Alexis Gibson!”


    Yvonne blinked, confused. She didn’t know much about Jillian or Alexis, but the moment she saw the photo, her heart skipped a beat. There they were—the same couple she had just walked in on.

    Margie continued, “Jillian’s a rising model, and Alexis is a big shot at Horizon Entertainment.”


    Yvonne gave a slow nod, her gaze still fixed on the screen. Clearly, there was more to this than she had initially thought.


    Even so, she reminded herself she hadn’t done anything wrong. She hadn’t meant to stumble upon them like that.


    They shopped a little while longer before parting ways and heading home.


    Meanwhile, back at the restaurant on the third floor, Jillian and Alexis were still wrapped up in each other, lost in their secret affair.


    Suddenly, Alexis’s phone buzzed. A voice came through, nervous and breathless. “Bad news, Mr. Gibson! Your wife…”


    Alexis raised an eyebrow, his tone almost bored. “What about her?”
