Chapter 1134

    ?Chapter 1134:

Malvina stared at the screen, frozen. Her legs gave out slightly, and she dropped into her seat, dazed. It was over. She knew Morse wouldn’t let her off easily this time.

“I—I didn’t mean to,” she stammered. “It was Heidi! She dragged me into this! You know I wouldn’t do something like this on my own!”

Morse crossed his arms, unmoved. “You brokepany policy and tried to sabotage a colleague. We’ll be terminating your employment andunching a formal investigation.”

“You can’t do this to me!” Malvina cried, tears spilling down her cheeks. “Please! It was all Heidi! Just investigate her! Please don’t fire me!”

But Morse was done. “Heidi’s no longer with thepany. And she’ll be reported to the authorities,” he said tly. “As for you—this decision is final. There’s nothing more to say.”

Yvonne watched without a flicker of sympathy. Justice had been served.

Morse sighed, rubbing his temples. “Meeting adjourned.”

He walked over to Yvonne, giving her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “Yvonne, keep up the good work. Don’t let these distractions get to you.”

Yvonne nodded with a small smile. She walked out without even looking at Malvina, who was now a crying mess.

Shortly after, Malvina was escorted out of the office, carrying a cardboard box of her things. Her head hung low as she crept along the hallway walls, the arrogance she once wore like armor now gone without a trace.

But the chaos wasn’t over. Not long after, the office doors banged open. A disheveled woman stormed inside, shouting, “Yvonne! Where is she?! Yvonne!”

Heads snapped up. Everyone stared in stunned silence. It was Heidi.

She looked wild, desperate—nothing like the poised co-worker they once knew. Her eyes locked on Yvonne.

The staff instinctively stepped in front of her, especially the men, forming a wall between her and Yvonne, unsure of what she might do.

Yvonne ced a calm hand on one of her colleague’s shoulders, giving him a reassuring smile. Then she stepped forward, walking straight toward Heidi.

To everyone’s surprise, Heidi suddenly let out a loud, gut-wrenching cry. Tears streamed down her face as she looked at Yvonne with desperate, pleading eyes.

“Yvonne, please—I’m begging you!” she sobbed. “Don’t let them take me. I swear I’ll never do it again! Don’t send me to jail… please!”

Her voice cracked with raw, panicked emotion. The office fell into uneasy silence. Some of their coworkers looked away, ufortable. A few exchanged nervous nces. Seeing their onceposed colleague reduced to this wreck was unsettling—equal parts pitiful and pathetic.

“I don’t want to go to prison!” Heidi wailed, lunging forward to grab Yvonne’s hand.

Several coworkers jumped in, blocking her path. No one knew what she might do—not to Yvonne, not even to herself.

But Yvonne didn’t flinch. She stood her ground, arms crossed, her face cold and unreadable.

“It’s toote,” she said, her tone like ice. “Justice may be slow, but it eventuallyes. Thew will take it from here.”

Heidi’s desperation twisted into rage. Her eyes lit with fury as she shouted, “Yvonne, how can you be so heartless? I used to look out for you! You—”
