Rodney had never thought of that before. He only hated Freya because she stripped Sarah of her role as a mother.
When the thought of what would happen if Sarah gave birth to the child finally hit him, he shuddered. He was not sure whether he should feel fortunate or sad.
"What else do you want to say? Say it all."
He looked at Chester numbly.
Chester leaned back a little. Although he was wearing a smile, the remarks he made were extremely harsh." You came here to look for me angrily not just because you were lied to, but because you hadn''t been living well. The more unsatisfied you are, the more you miss your previous life. Back then, your parents were very close to you, and when you got home, you had a cute wife and child waiting for you. What about now? What do you have? You have a woman who makes you feel bad and wants you to hold a grand wedding for her even though you''re short of money? A woman who always asks you for money, power, and wealth, or perhaps a woman who suspects you of having an affair when you get homete?"
Rodney froze.
If it had not been for the fact that he had lost contact with Chester for a long time, he would have doubted whether he had poured out his troubles to Chester every day like he used to.
"Are you wondering why I know everything so well?"
Chester raised his nting eyes. "You can tell from one''s expression whether they are living well. Rodney, please go back. If you want to fight, I''ll fight you to the end, but it''s pointless. I don''t regret anything I''ve done. I believe Freya doesn''t regret taking the me for Eliza too. Back then, you were set against getting a divorce. With the persisting conflict and being disgusted by you and Sarah, she could not wait to end her rtionship with you as soon as possible."
"Our divorce is one thing, but Eliza''s kidnap of Sarah is another."
Rodney exchanged nces with Chester as he slowly regained hisposure. "Since she hasmitted a crime, I''ll send her to jail."
"Do you have any evidence?" Chester smiled discreetly.
Rodney was shocked. He knew Chester so well that he immediately understood the situation.
Since the incident was long over, Chester had probably eliminated all the evidence.
"Chester, is a woman so important?" Rodney looked at him in a daze.
"Personally, Eliza is more important, and from the perspective of mypany''s gains, Eliza is a popr artist who can bring in billions of dors to ourpany. There''s no reason for me to give up on her for the sake of Sarah, whom I hate."
Chester suddenly straightened his back and extended his long hands to push Rodney.
Rodney tottered out of the gate.
"Rodney, our rtionship can never go back to how it was. The next time youe and kick up a fuss at my door, I''ll instinctively call the police. Also, if you want to cause trouble for me, you can do it as you please. Considering your current condition, I have no regard for you. Don''t be mad. You were the one who destroyed our rtionship for Sarah''s sake. I''m not your parents. I don''t have to bear with Sarah no matter how much they dislike her." 1
Chester closed the door once he finished speaking.
Eliza had put on a ck pajama dress and came downstairs. Chester was the one who got someone to buy all the clothes here for her. It was the only dress that was less revealing. However, her thin corbones that resembled two pretty crescent moons were exposed with red hickeys on her skin. Coupled with her face, she looked pure yet charming.
Chester darted a nce at her. Suddenly, Rodney''sst question for him crossed his mind - is a woman so important?
He suddenly let out a deepugh.
She really was important to him now.
At least, he found the deal worthwhile.
He admitted that he was cold-blooded sometimes.
Chester had been friends with Rodney for over ten years, and he ended their friendship over a mistake Rodney made.
"What are youughing at?" Eliza looked at Chester strangely. She had heard his conversation with Rodney from upstairs.
As much as she hated Chester, what he said just now gave her great satisfaction.
That was Rodney''s character. Was that not?
He was the one who wronged Freya in the marriage, yet he med her.
