Chapter 766

After Natalie decided to return home, she and Marcus joined Timothy and Mason for the return trip.

They continued traveling in the RV at a leisurely pace, sightseeing along the way. Whenever they saw something cute or unique, they bought it to bring back as gifts for the family.

Meanwhile, Laura, Wesley, Charlotte, and William had a heated argument over which house Natalie and Marcus would be staying in after returning.

Ultimately, Laura and Wesley admitted defeat, and Charlotte and William won the right to have Natalie stay with them and help raise their future grandchildren.

When Natalie and Marcus heard about the argument, they just smiled and stayed out of it.

Three months had passed as they made their slow return, taking their time to enjoy the trip. Natalie''s baby bump was now showing. Actually, it was a bit bigger than that of most pregnant women.

They had stopped at a hospital mid-trip for a checkup, and she had found out how many babies she was carrying. However, she chose not to say anything and asked the doctor to keep it a secret. She feared that Marcus would start stressing and worrying again after the initial excitement.

Once they got home, Charlotte immediately pulled Natalie into her arms and gave her aplete once-over from head to toe. Her eyes welled up with tears. "My sweet baby, you''ve lost weight, and you''re so tanned now."

Natalie chuckled. "Mom, I haven''t lost weight. In fact, I''ve gained some! I didn''t even have morning sickness. That was all Marcus. As for the tan, yeah, I did get a little darker."

She''d stopped using sunscreen due to her pregnancy. Even though Marcus

always held an umbre over her when they were out, she still ended up with a bit of a sun-kissed glow. "Myplexion will go back to normal after resting at home for some time."

After hugging her, Charlotte pulled her to the couch. "Tell me what you want to eat. I''ll make it for you. Gorge already stocked the kitchen with a ton of food, just waiting for you toe home."

"Mom, I''m having twins," Natalie said, resting her hand on her belly. "I found out during the checkup. They''re a boy and a girl."

"Really?" Charlotte jumped to her feet, absolutely thrilled. "Honey! Our daughter''s having twins-a boy and a girl!"

"Really?" William was shocked and delighted, too. But after their excitement came a wave of concern.

"Twins? That means we have to be even more careful."

"My poor daughter, I hate that you have to go through this."

"This isn''t suffering!" Natalie smiled. "I love my babies. I''m so excited to meet them."

"Marcus, you''d better take extra care of her," Charlotte said, turning to Marcus, who lookedpletely stunned and was still processing what Natalie had just said.

"I need to tell Laura and Wesley!" Charlotte pulled out her phone and immediately dialed Laura''s number.

She hadn''t told them about Natalie and Marcus''s travel ns before, as they didn''t want to risk the inws trying to im more time with Natalie.

But now, she was too happy to keep the news to herself.

"Laura, Nat''s having twins-a boy and a girl!"

"Are you serious?" Laura''s voice came through, choked with emotion. "That''s amazing. A son and a daughter in one go-it''s perfect.

"I''m going to be a grandma. I''ll have a grandson and a granddaughter! This is wonderful news!

"But poor Nat, it will be tough for her. I''ming over to take care of her."

As she spoke, she was already packing. "Charlotte, can I move into your ce for

a while? I want to help look after my daughter-inw, too."

"Well... I don''t think that''s necessary." Charlotte hesitated. "Nat''s staying with me, so don''t worry. I''m her mother and will take good care of her."

"Charlotte, we already lost the battle over the babies. Can''t you let me take care of her just this once?"

"Laura, I''m just worried about you," Charlotte said. "You and Wesley missed out on so much because of your health. If it weren''t for your illness, you two wouldn''t have had only one son.

"Now that Marcus and Nat are back, he can return to handling Holden Group. You two should take this time to be with each other. You missed out on a lot. Don''t you want to make up for that?

"Laura, listen to me. Go traveling with Wesley. Enjoy everything you didn''t get to before."

Laura listened in silence, and her eyes grew misty. She had indeed missed out on a lot with Wesley. Lately, she cooked and brought him lunch while he was at work before heading to her flower shop.

She''d hired two employees to give herself more freedom.

"Laura, you two deserve some alone time," Charlotte said again. "We''re not trying to keep Nat from you. We just want you both to have a chance to enjoy life.

"You''re still young. You should enjoy each other''spany. Who knows, maybe you two will get so close that you''ll decide to give Marcus a younger sibling!"

Laura was left speechless. "Charlotte! What are you saying?"

Charlotte burst into a fit ofughter. "Nothing, nothing! You get what I mean. Anyway, that''s the n. Marcus will return to work, and we''ll take care of Nat here. You can rest easy."

"Alright, then." Laura knew she couldn''t win the argument. But what Charlotte said did make her think twice.

If Marcus went back to work, Wesley would finally get a break.

They''d missed out on so much after divorcing because of Cassie, then eventually remarrying. Even now, they hadn''t taken time for themselves after getting back together. Now that Marcus was married, and Natalie was pregnant and being well looked after, they could finally take that time off.  s

Marcus and Natalie wouldn''t think they were selfish and would agree with the

    idea.

Laura wavered after thinking for a moment. Still, she wanted to hear it directly from Marcus and Natalie.

She called Natalie, who answered with a cheerful voice. "Hi, Mom."

"Nat, are you feeling okay? Pregnancy is hard enough, and you''re carrying twins. It''s got to be even harder on you."

Her voice trembled with concern. "This is all Marcus'' fault. Why couldn''t he wait a few more years to get you pregnant?"

Natalie couldn''t help butugh. "Mom, a babyes when the time is right—it''s fate. Ours just happened to show up now.

"I don''t feel like I''m suffering. I feel both happy and grateful. Some people try for twins and only get one. I get two in one go. It''s totally worth it."

"Don''t worry about me, Mom. I''m taking good care of myself, and Marcus is doing even more. He''s the perfect husband. I''ve never once regretted marrying him."

"Nat, I''m just so worried about you." Laura''s voice was thick with emotion. "I want to take care of you, but your mom won''t let me. I want to help take care of the babies But she won''t let me do that either  s

"She''s so fierce. I can''t argue with her, and I definitely can''t outtalk her."

Her voice turned pitiful, making both Natalie and Marcus smile.

He took the phone and spoke gently. "Mom, don''t be upset. Charlotte just sounds fierce. She means well. You''re the grandmother. Of course, you get to take care of the babies, too."

Laura''s voice trembled. "Really?"<fn395e> For more chapters visit Find_Novel(.</fn395e>

"Absolutely," Marcus said firmly. "Nat''s having twins, Mom. You and Dad should

"Alright. I''ll listen to you," Laura said tearfully. "We''ll return when Nat''s about to

give birth. We can''t lose to Charlotte and William."

"Got it. We''ll remember that. Don''t cry anymore, Mom."

Marcus soothed Laura like he would a child. Lauraughed through her tears, gave him a few more reminders to take care of Natalie, and finally hung up.
