Chapter 754

When Samuel started crying, Sierra and her parents were stunned. They looked at one another and saw a trace of guilt in each other''s eyes. No matter what happened, seeing a grown man like Samuel break down made them feel like they had gone too far.

Sierra stepped forward and hugged him.

"Samuel, I''m sorry. I was wrong too. Please don''t cry, okay?"

    Samuel hugged her back tightly.

"Darling, I can''t let you go. I just can''t let you go. I truly regret saying the things I did."

"It''s in the past now." Sierra sighed. "Let''s not bring it up anymore, okay?"

"Darling, I want to call Sophia. I want to tell her that I''m sorry." Samuel tried hard to keep his emotions in check. "Use your phone since she blocked me. If you get through to her, let me say sorry.

"You were right. As her brother, I shouldn''t have said those things. I was wrong too and will work on changing how I think. I''ll try to see things from other people''s perspectives."

Sierra''s eyes reddened. "Samuel, are you really going to apologize to Sophia?" Samuel nodded. "Yes, I''ll apologize. And I''ll apologize to my mom too."

On his way back, Samuel had chatted with a cab driver, and what the driver said had stayed on his mind ever since.

The driver had said, "Every family has its own struggles, but home is a ce for warmth and love, not where you keep score over who''s right or wrong.

"As a man, taking a step back isn''t a big deal. At most, it just bruises your ego a bit. But who cares about that? A sincere apology can make everyone feel better, and the conflict resolves naturally.

"No one likes a home full of arguments. If it''s not a serious issue, then a real man should know when to back down. Think about it—if you insist on being right and winning the argument but losing your wife, is that even a win at all?"

After thinking it over, Samuel realized the driver had a point. That''s why, when he got home, he had already decided. First, he would apologize to Sierra''s family, then to Sophia, andstly to Samantha. A home was supposed to be filled with warmth, not a battlefield.

Samuel was ready to bow his head first.

"Sierra, I truly want to apologize this time." Seeing that she still hadn''t handed him her phone, Samuel spoke again. "They''ve both blocked my number. I can''t call them even if I want to."

"Samuel, won''t you feel wronged by doing this?" Sierra hesitated. "What if you apologize, but they don''t ept it? They might say something even harsher to hurt you. I''m afraid you''ll be upset."

"I''m fine." Samuel waved it off. "I''m not living with them. I''m only living with you, Dad, and Mom.

"All these years, I haven''t been close to either of them. If we''re talking about emotional bonds, there really aren''t any. My only bond is with you.

"I''m apologizing to them because I regret what I said and did. Whether they forgive me or not, that''s up to them. I don''t care. The only person whose forgiveness matters, the only person I want to keep living with, is you. The rest don''t matter."

Samuel''s words left Sierra feeling a little helpless, but it also confirmed once again that he really only cared about her. Everyone else meant little to him.

    "I''ll call them for you."

Sierra took out her phone and dialed Sophia''s number. After a while, someone finally picked up.

    "Hello, Cee."

"Sophia, Samuel wants to say something to you. Please don''t hang up. Just hear him out, okay?"

The cheerful tone on the other end immediately cooled.

"I don''t want to talk to him."

"Sophia, just do it for me, okay?"

"It won''t take long. Just a few minutes." Sierra pleaded for a bit of time.

"Fine." Sophia was reluctant, but she still agreed.

    "Samuel, here."

Samuel took the phone and immediately put it on speaker.

"Sophia, I''m sorry. I want to apologize for the things I said that hurt you. I''m sorry, Sophia."

"Huh?" Sophia was stunned. She hadn''t expected Samuel''s first words to be an apology. Was he actually acknowledging that what he said had hurt her and admitting he was wrong?

"Sophia, I''m sorry. I messed up. really am sorry. It was my fault. 10 shouldn''t have spoken to you like that. Now that you''re back, you can hit me, yet me and get revenge you want."  s

"Samuel, are you okay?" Sophia asked suspiciously. "Are you possessed or something?"

Samuel fell silent. This was what he was worried about. People''s biases ran deep, and once formed, they were hard to shake.

"Sophia, Samuel''s not possessed." Sierra chimed in. "He genuinely realizes he was wrong now. Sophia, we''re family. There''s no need for such deep grudges.

"Samuel knows he was wrong, so just forgive him this once, okay?"

Sophia had her phone on speaker too. Zachary was beside her, listening. He nodded at her.

Sophia took a deep breath and said, "Alright. I''ll forgive him."

"Sophia, thank you," Samuel said again. "When you''re back, I''lle to you and apologize in person. I''ll say sorry to you in person."

Sophia still felt like Samuel had been possessed, but since Zachary motioned for her to ept it, she nodded.

    "Alright. I ept your apology."

    "Is there anything else?"

    "No."

"Sophia, congrattions on your wedding. Have a great time. I''ll transfer you some moneyter."

Samuel had just finished speaking when Sophia gasped. She wanted to say something, but Zachary''s voice came in first.

    "Sophia, thank your brother."

Sophia had no choice but to say, "Thanks, Samuel."

Zachary then took the phone. "I''d like to say a few words to Samuel."

    "Sure."

"Hello, it''s me, Zachary Holt," he said into the phone.

He continued naturally, "Samuel, is it alright if I call you that?"

Samuel, still in apology mode, didn''t hesitate.

    "Of course, Zachary."

Zachary paused before continuing, "Thanks, Samuel. But you don''t need to send money to Sophia. I can provide for her. That aside, are you truly sincere in this apology?"

    "Of course," Samuel answered

without hesitation. "I''m a man, so it''s not hard to take a step back. I''m part of Sophia''s family too. I said some terriblethings without thinking Whatever happened, hurt both Sophia and you, and for that, I sincerely apologize."

"Well, then. Let me be honest with you too. Sophia and I did go to Sky and asked

    him to deal with you."

"I know. But it''s fine. I had a foul mouth, so your retaliation was justified." Samuel was blunt and sincere.

In fact, his honesty caught Zachary off guard, but he quicklyposed himself.

"Since that''s how you feel, I''ll tell

Sophia to tell Sky not to go after you anymore We''re family after all. It''s

"Yes, you''re right. That''s exactly how it should be."

Zachary added, "Then, I''ll treat you to a meal when we''re back."

Samuel quickly said, "Let me treat you both instead. I owe you an apology in

    person."

"We''ll see about that." Zachary chuckled. "I heard your leg still isn''t healed. We''re wishing you a speedy recovery."

"Alright, that''s it for now. Enjoy your trip and have fun."

    "Thanks, Samuel."

Samuel hung up and turned to Sierra, looking like he was waiting to be praised.

    "Cee, how did I do?"
