Sierra left home soon after and called Samuel, asking to meet.
Samuel was busy maneuvering his wheelchair and hadn''t gone far. After she received his location, Sierra walked a short distance and quickly found him.
He looked noticeably upset. He wasn''t feeling any better, even after yelling at Samantha earlier.
He had been forced to leave home at a young age, though he had parents. Besides, he had to take care of a girl who wasn''t even his real sister. Samantha had been the rightful wife but was afraid of the mistress. He didn''t understand why they had to leave the country in the first ce.
Throughout it all, Samantha had never fought for them.
Sierra walked up and gently pushed Samuel''s wheelchair forward. "Samuel, I''m sorry."
Samuel didn''t say anything and just let Sierra push him.
"Samuel, let''s open up to each other and talk honestly about how we feel."
Sierra pushed him into the nearby park and stopped. She sat down across from him, staring straight at him without blinking.
"I''ll go first. I wasn''t assaulted. Truth is, I was rescued. Everything I said about being assaulted was a lie. I just wanted to see how you would react and treat me if I had gone through something like Sophia."
"Sierra, did you have fun?" He finally spoke. His eyes misted over as he gritted his teeth and forced the words out. "Was it fun lying to me? Did you enjoy making up something that never happened and deceiving me?"
"Samuel, are you trying to quarrel with me?" Her tone stayed calm. Compared to his teary, red eyes, she seemed almost unnervinglyposed.
"I heard everything you said earlier and took it to heart. I wanted to sit down and talk it out with you. But if you just want to fight, then I''ll leave."
She stood up as if to go, but he hurriedly grabbed her wrist. "Darling, don''t go. Have a seat. I''ll talk it out properly."
Only then did she sit back down. "Go ahead and tell me what''s on your mind."
"I don''t want a divorce," he said. "Cee, I admit that when I heard you had gone through something like that, I couldn''t ept it at first. Besides, after being scolded and criticized by everyone for how I spoke about Sophia, I lost control. Even now, I don''t believe Sophia was innocent.
"When she was first hurt, she could''ve gone straight to Sky. He doted on her and wouldn''t tolerate a maid abusing her. He may be shameless, but the Walker family greatly cares about their pride.
"If Sophia had just spoken up at the start, none of this would''ve happened. She tricked Marcus, pretending to be his savior. Isn''t that despicable?
"I was just expressing how I feel. But in everyone else''s eyes, I became the viin."
As he spoke, his voice grew hoarse with grievance. "Is speaking the truth wrong? Am I supposed to pretend Sophia did nothing wrong?
"She wasn''t to me for what happened to her, but was I? She and my mom think we were living it up abroad. Cee, be honest, were we living the high life over there?"
As he spoke, his tears fell unexpectedly. He covered his eyes with his hands, trying to hide his tears. "Cee, you wanted us to open up and be real with each other. I''m telling you how I feel.
"You may think I''m heartless,
cold-blooded, or whatever you want. But I don''t believe I was wrong. I was angry when I said I wanted Sinir Group and your parents assets never actually wanted to take
anything from you. If I did, would I have waited this long without doing a thing? s
"And while I said I wanted Sinir Group, have I ever made a move for it?"
Sierra fell silent after hearing his words.
"Cee, we grew up together, depending on each other. When we got married abroad, I never once asked you to sign a prenup. I never once guarded myself against you.
"Everything I own, including my assets and property, is registered under both our names. You brought up divorce, and I said you had to leave with nothing but that was just me begging you to stay.
"I admit it. What happened to you
bothered me, but that''s because I love you. If I didn''t love you, I wouldn''t care, no matter what happened. And the same goes for you, Cee. If you really love me you wouldn''t be able to ept it if I slept with someone else. s
"Cee, if I were tainted, no matter the reason, can you say you wouldn''t care? That you could still love me as you did at the beginning, without any resentment?"
He sighed. "I''m sorry for saying many things I didn''t mean out of anger. I get that it''s hard to take back what I said before, and I know that it''s pointless to apologize. But still, I''m very sorry if my words hurt you."
He looked much calmer after expressing himself. "I''m done. It''s your turn now."
She stayed quiet for a long time before finally speaking. "Samuel, I''m sorry. I don''t know how we ended up like this. I had a lot of resentment toward you because of what you said about Sophia.
"As a woman, my instinct was to side with her. I thought what you said was just so heartless and cold. You''re her family, and instead of standing by her, you spoke about her like that. It was something I just couldn''t ept."
As she spoke, her eyes turned teary. "Samuel, I''m your wife. Because of that, I started imagining all sorts of things. thought, what if one day something awful happened to me? if I faced a
Huge injustice
Would you say the same cruel
words about me?
to s
"Because if you could say that about your own sister, wouldn''t you be even harsher toward me?
"And coincidentally, I ended up in a situation eerily simr to Sophia''s. And your reaction... was exactly what I had feared. Your attitude and words scared me and broke my heart."
Tears shimmered in her eyes. "I even felt lucky because I had prepared myself mentally beforehand. Otherwise, I would have beenpletely devastated. I was grateful I had already asked you for a divorce.<fnf96e> Read full story at Find~Novel</fnf96e>
"Samuel, when you started talking about wanting Sinir Group and my parents'' assets after that, it only made me more determined to leave you.
"You had turned into a stranger sleeping beside me and someone I didn''t recognize. It even made me realize... Maybe I never really knew you at all."
