Chapter 743

It was already wrong of Sierra to have used Sky, and she couldn''t allow him to be entangled in her emotional turmoil with Samuel. While she could use Sky to pave the way for her career, she could never let his personal life or feelings be tainted by her actions.

Sierra helped Samuel into a cab and gave the driver her home address. On the way, neither of them spoke. When they arrived at the residential area, the cab driver assisted with the wheelchair and helped Samuel out of the car.

After paying the fare, Sierra silently pushed Samuel inside. Once in the elevator, she nced at the security cameras and quickly shifted her gaze away.

"Samuel, have you thought about the consequences of causing that scene at Walker Group''s entrance?" she asked calmly.

Samuel stayed quiet. He ced his hands on the wheelchair''s armrests and stared at his injured leg for a long while.

Only when the elevator stopped and the doors opened did Samuel speak. "At the time, I didn''t think it through. I just assumed that you must have someone else since you were so determined to divorce me.

"I contacted an acquaintance to keep an eye on you, and that''s when I learned you and Sky went to Lincoln Entertainment. After that, you both headed to Walker Group together."

He paused and continued, "Sierra, at that moment, all I could think of was that if you weren''t going to let me have peace, I wouldn''t let you have it either. Why should I tolerate you when you can''t tolerate me?

"Or maybe you just wanted to be with Sky. I even wondered if maybe you hadn''t been assaulted at all, that it was all just an excuse to be with him and break up with me."

Samuel''s eyes reddened as he spoke. "I don''t know if my guess is right, but once those thoughts formed, I couldn''t get rid of them. Sierra, maybe I was wrong, but I really do love you. However, you don''t love me."

Sierra guided Samuel out of the elevator and into Samantha and Sophia''s home. "Samuel, you don''t love me. You love yourself. You want Sinir Group and the assets my parents left me. You admitted it yourself."

Samuel protested loudly, "Those were just words spoken in anger! Sierra, I said them in the heat of the moment. You want a divorce over something so minor. We''ve been together for so many years. I admit that I didn''t respect Sophia, but she''s not you. You''ve always been different."

His eyes welled up with tears again. "I know what matters to you, and I promise I won''t repeat those things. I was wrong, and I will change. Please give me a chance. If my words at Walker Group hurt you and Sky, I''ll clear it up."

Sierra didn''t even look at him. "Shut up," she said tly.

She sat on the couch. Both their mothers had already left for their daily square dancing, and Jonathan went with them. Since Sophia and Zachary''s wedding, they had been traveling, so now, it was just Sierra and Samuel in the house.

However, Samuel''s things weren''t there, and she had no intention of letting him stay. She hade back only for some peace and quiet.

"Sierra, please talk to me. Don''t ignore me," Samuel said, noticing how her expression had darkened as she sat there silently. The unease he had felt earlier resurfaced.

Sierra suddenly broke the silence. "Samuel, this is your mother and Sophia''s house. Didn''t you say before that your mother refused to see you? Well, I''ve called her. I think you two have a lot to talk about."

    Samuel tried to speak. "Sierra—"

"Enough," Sierra cut him off. She stood and walked to the window, then pulled out her phone and dialed Samantha''s number.

Samantha sounded utterly unconvinced on the other end. "What? You brought that scumbag home? Cee, I''ve told you that if you don''t want to be with him, you don''t have to force yourself.

"Besides, we''re out of trash bags. There''s no way to throw out garbage like Samuel. Bringing him home means you''ll have to drag him back

out to the bin, and that''s just not

    worth the effort."  s

As Sierra listened, she could tell that Samantha had truly lost all affection and expectations for her son.

Sierra took a deep breath and asked, "Ms. ir, did you see the video of Samuel yelling into a loudspeaker outside Walker Group?

"I brought him home for two reasons. First, I don''t want to drag Sky any deeper into this. Secondly some things are better kept within the family. No matter how ugly things get between me and Samuel I don''t want to make it a public spectacle."  s

Sierra sighed. "What he said about Sophia can''t be allowed to spread in public. She went through so much to pull herself out of the darkness and finally found happiness.

"I won''t let his words drag her back into that ce. After thinking it through, I decided it''s better to keep him under control at home than let him cause chaos outside."

Samantha replied firmly, "Wait there. I''ming home now."

After hanging up, Samantha turned around and marched back toward the dance floor, grabbing Melissa mid-dance. "Melissa, hurry. You daughter just brought that bastard son of mine home."

    to s

"What?" Melissa froze for a moment, then quickly came to her senses. "Let''s go. I''ll get Jon."

She turned and called out, "Jon, time to go."

Jonathan was holding a bag filled with water and snacks. His job was to watch their things and snap pictures from time to time.<fn299d> Newest update provided by find~novel</fn299d>

"Are you heading back now? Aren''t you going to dance anymore?" he asked, packing up their things.

"That''s not important right now. Cee brought Samuel back home," Melissa said, patting him on the shoulder. "What''s more important than our daughter?"

Jonathan nodded. "You''re right. Let''s head back."

The three of them quickly packed up and rushed home.

    ...

A quick 20 minutester, the three of them returned to the house. As soon as they opened the door, Samantha spotted Samuel sitting in the wheelchair.

Samuel saw her too. Their eyes met across the room, but neither of them said a word.
