Sierra''s sudden calmness was unsettling. She wasposed, reasonable, and almost too agreeable. These were the very words Samuel had been dreaming of hearing. Yet, now that he was actually hearing them, they felt oddly unreal.
She quietly went to find Walter, spoke to him briefly, then exined the situation to the police officers. After that, she wheeled Samuel out.
Once they were outside, Sierra looked across the street at Sky. "Sky, I''m sorry. I''ve dragged you into my personal mess. As for the job, I want to put it on hold for now. Once things settle on my end, I will reach out to discuss it."
Sky gave a small nod. "That''s fine. You cane to me anytime."
He shot a cold nce at Samuel. Sophia had asked him to deal with Samuel, but he hadn''t made a move yet.
He was still under parole supervision. He couldn''t afford tond himself in trouble again. If something needed to be done, he had to make sure it was clean and legal.
Sky looked at Samuel and gave a slight nod. "Speedy recovery, Samuel."
Samuel snapped, "What''s that supposed to mean? Say it as it is. Are you happy my leg''s broken? Don''t forget what you did to my sister!"
Sky''s expression didn''t change. "Does Sophia even acknowledge you as her brother, Samuel? Does Ms. ir acknowledge you as her son? Since your return, has she seen you even once? Have you set foot in their home? If not, maybe stop calling yourself Sophia''s brother. Honestly, you''re worse than I am."
With that, Sky turned and walked to his car without another word.
Samuel couldn''t hold it in anymore. He started shouting like a madman. "Sky! Come back here! Say it to my face. What gives you the right to talk about my family?"
Sierra sighed, clearly fed up. She pushed Samuel''s wheelchair forward, then let go. The wheelchair began rolling down the slope.
Samuel panicked and forgot to hit the brakes. "Sierra, what are you doing? Help! Move! Somebody help!"
Sierra stood calmly at the top of the slope, watching the wheelchair speed down and crash straight into a stone bord, flipping Samuel onto the ground.
Walter walked up beside her. "Ms. Remington, are you sure you''re not filing for divorce?"
"Not for now," Sierra said softly. "If Samuel wants to y dirty, then I''ll y along. If he refuses to divorce me, fine. I''ll just be a widow."
Walter gave her a calm look. "Ms. Remington, I have a friendly reminder for you. This is Dithoria, so be careful not to cross any legal lines."
Sierra nodded. "Alright. Thank you, Mr. Watson. I''ll be in touch if I need anything."
"Of course. I''m just a phone call away," Walter replied.
ncing coldly at the sprawled Samuel, he added, "Looks like Mr. Sinir''s recovery is going to take a little longer now."
Sierra gave a faint smile. "That''s fine. As his loving wife, I''ll take good care of him. After all, he''s been shouting through the loudspeaker about how much he loves me and can''t live without me. It''s truly heartbreaking. I couldn''t possibly be the one to walk away now."
She slowly walked down the slope until she reached Samuel.
"Samuel, how could you be so careless?" she asked with concern. "I look away for one moment, and you cause trouble. Promise me that you will not do something like this again. Your leg is already injured as is. This is not good for your recovery."
Her expression was so sincere that Samuel began to doubt himself.
Samuel looked at her in disbelief. "Sierra, what are you saying? Did I hear you wrong? Are you actually saying I ended up here because I was being yful?"
Sierra met his eyes with a calm
gaze. "Is that not the case? You were
trying to get my attention, but there was no need to resort to self-harm. This time, the stone bords happened to stop you. What of
you
off straight into the traffic next time? What if a car fails to stop in time and hits you? What then?" s
Her tone was calm, but there was something unhinged beneath it.
"It''s understandable that you want my attention. If you choose to end your own life, that''s your decision. However, if your actions implicate an innocent driver, then you are at fault.
"That person would be driving safely, minding their own business, yet would suddenly be burdened with a death on their conscience. Tell me is that fair to them?"
Samuel waspletely at a loss for words.
"Let''s go," Sierra said inly.
She helped him back into the wheelchair and slowly pushed him forward. "You were right. I should not have left your care to caretakers. No matter how capable they may be, how could anyone look after you more attentively than your own wife?
"Honey, I have been reflecting on my past behavior and decisions. You never med me, even after what happened. How could I have been the one to ask for a divorce?"
Her tone was soft, but her eyes were devoid of tenderness.
"Honey, let''s go home. Don''t stay in Causeway Bay anymore. I bought two fully furnished apartment units right below my mother and Sophia''s. We can move in with just our bags.
"My parents live across the hall. That<fn4b5d> Th?s chapter is updated by ?ovelFind</fn4b5d>
means Sophia and Zachary are across from my mother, and we will be living just below them. It will be so easy for us to visit each other. That is what family is all about being together, looking out for one another. Do you not agree, honey?" s
Sierra continued pushing him
Sierra continued
forward. "And don''t worry. I will call
Maggie over to help with the cleaning and cooking As for the caretakers I do not think we need them anymore. I will pay Maggie extra so she can take care of some of your needs as well."

As he listened to Sierra calmlyying out his future, Samuel began to feel an uneasy chill.
"Sierra, are you mad at me?"
What troubled him most was that he was physically helpless in his current condition. Though he was a man and ordinarily stronger than Sierra, his injured legs made him vulnerable.
Sierra smiled faintly. "Of course not. I simply came to some realizations while we were at the station. It was wrong of me to let you stand outside the Walker Group building with a loudspeaker, begging me not to divorce you.
"You only did that because you love me. I understand now. Honey, I will be sure to return that love properly."
There was a flicker of irony in her eyes. Since Samuel had no intention of letting her go peacefully and had even dragged Sky into the matter, she no longer feltpelled to act with restraint or decency.
