Selenaughed wildly, grabbed the bag beside her, and gave it a shake. Money and paternity test documents spilled out, scattering in the wind like falling leaves.
Once the bag was empty, she swung the empty bag before turning toward Grace. As she passed, she deliberately bumped into her shoulder with force.
"Old hag, your time is running out. Think carefully about what you want to do."
"Selena, you''re insane. Bringing you back to the Langley family was the biggest mistake we''ve made. How could you destroy the Langley family? How could you destroy me?" Grace mumbled under her breath.
"You really don''t know why I turned out like this?" Selena stopped, tilting her head with a smirk as she stared at Grace.
"I''ve always been this crazy. Are you regretting it now? Toote. If you hadn''t ordered Kenton to take me away and sell me, would I have be like this? Everything that happened is because of you, you old wretch.
"If you want to me someone, me yourself. No one else is responsible. I''m the crazy one, but what does that make you? An old beast?"
Selena burst intoughter, turned, and entered the stairwell. She took the elevator straight to the first floor.
The moment she stepped out, she called Victor. "Hello, Dad, have you and Mom met Natalie yet?"
"Not yet. We tried calling, but her assistant said she''s resting and not epting visitors. We were told to make an appointment. Your mother and I are in the hotel lobby where she is staying. We''ll wait here. Let''s see if she never leaves the hotel."
Victor gritted his teeth. "Selena, have you finished handling things on your end?" "Everything is done. I''ming over to meet you both." Selena walked out of the Langley Group building, got into her car, and started the engine.
"That old hag has been ying you two for years while I suffered outside. She still wants to use us like cattle to serve her." Her lips curled into a sneer. "What gives her the right to lecture us?"
She added, "Because of her, the Walker family took revenge on the three of us. Everything we suffered should be repaid by that old hag."
"None of us expected her to be so ruthless," Victor cursed, though deep down, he felt nothing but bitterness. All his life, he had believed he was Grace''s biological son, the heir of the Langley family, and its rightful sessor.
But that morning, he and Diana overheard a conversation between Natalie and Grace. He wasn''t her real son.
Grace had a biological daughter-Megan. That exined why she never transferredpany shares to Selena or gave him full control over Langley Group. She was saving everything for her daughter.
If Langley Group wasn''t his to inherit, then he would make sure Megan never got it either.
Victor ended the call and exchanged a nce with Diana. Both wore identical grim expressions, their hearts filled with hatred for Grace.
Because of the abuse Natalie suffered, her biological mother, Charlotte, had retaliated against them, each time harsher than thest.
But going up against the richest family in the country was futile. The more they resisted, the worse it became. Fortunately, after her final act of vengeance, Charlotte returned to Dithoria.
But Grace still looked down on them. Every time Victor tried to make decisions for Langley Group, she publicly overruled him, humiliating him in front of the entire executive team. His dignity had beenpletely shattered.
In private, Diana oftenined. "What kind of mother insults her own son like that?"
She had even said that if he weren''t truly her son, it would be just like Natalie not being their real daughter. Ironically, her words hade true. Victor really wasn''t her son.
The resentment they once held toward Natalie immediately shifted onto Grace. If she refused to hand over Langley Group, they would destroy it. Once Langley Group went bankrupt, they would still have money. As for Grace, she could go to hell.
And Megan? If they ever found her, well...
A sinister glint shed in Victor''s eyes. "I told you before, even though Natalie wasn''t our real daughter, we shouldn''t have drained her blood so many times. She still called us Mom and Dad. But that old hag kept hinting at us to do it.
"Then, once we followed her orders, she turned around and scolded us for being cruel. She yed the role of the good person while making us look like the viins."
"She even called Selena crazy and said we shouldn''t have brought her back. If she hadn''t ordered someone to take her away and sell her, my daughter would not have suffered like that." Diana''s anger red.
"Selena surviving and returning to us is already a miracle. How manydies who get kidnapped and sold never make it back? But Grace still had the audacity to say we shouldn''t have found Selena and shouldn''t have spoiled her.
"If you ask me, we should sell that old hag off once and let her experience what Selena went through. What right does she have to judge Selena?" Diana''s eyes turned red with fury.
Diana truly loved her daughter. No matter what Selena did, she believed it was justified. The ones at fault were the people who sold her in the first ce.
If she had never been taken, Diana would not have lost her real daughter. She wouldn''t have vented her frustration and hatred on Natalie.
Natalie would have grown up in a loving home, and there would have been no enmity between their family and the Walker family.
"It is all her fault. Darling, where are my real parents? Did they abandon me, or did they sell me?" Victor seethed, gritting his teeth. His eyes were bloodshot.
"Why did Grace raise me? Why did she never tell me the truth? It hurts so much." Victor buried his face in his hands, tears slipping through his fingers.
Grace never loved him. She never loved Diana. She certainly never loved their daughter.
But no matter how much she did not care for them, selling a newborn baby was unforgivable, especially when that baby was a girl. What happened to kidnapped girls was too horrifying to even imagine.
"Grace is a woman. How could she do that to another girl? How? She keeps calling Selena crazy, but who drove her to madness?"
After wiping his tears, Victor grabbed a tissue and took a deep breath. "Darling,
after we see Natalie, we should focus on our own future. The three of us need to live well together."
