Chapter 486 She Just Wants to Live

When Natalie heard the name Kenton Langley, as in Kenton Langley from Amberton''s wealthiest Langley family, something instantly clicked in her mind.

She took out her phone, opened the rtionship chart, found Julie''s name, and wrote down "Kenton Langley" beside it.

A long time ago, she had overheard Grace on a phone call, mentioning a younger brother. Could he be connected to Julie as well as the husband?

"Ms. Natalie, please have a seat." Sharon noticed Natalie was just standing there staring at Julie, so she gently tugged Natalie''s sleeve.

"Ms. Natalie, why don''t you and this gentleman take a seat? I''ll make you some tea."

"Mrs. Zimmer, don''t trouble yourself," Natalie quickly said. She put away the phone and asked, "How long has Ms. Lombard been asleep? What exactly is wrong with her?"

"She''s not seriously ill. She''s been subjected to domestic abuse for years and was badly beaten. Over the years, I think she''s been severely mistreated. She''s in terrible shape.

"Even after treating her external injuries, she''ll need quite some time to regain her health. Mr. Langton said it would probably take some time."

Leon sighed. "I don''t know who could do such a cruel thing. Not only was she beaten, she wasn''t given enough to eat. She''s severely malnourished and her body is in awful shape. If it weren''t for the kind soul who saved her and brought her here, I''m afraid she wouldn''t have made it."

Natalie nodded. "Alright then. Let''s just wait for her to wake up. Let''s not disturb her for now."

"Alright. Ms. Natalie and this gentleman, why don''t you take a seat outside? I''ll prepare somete-night snacks for you."

"That won''t be necessary, Mrs. Zimmer. We''re not hungry. Just a pot of tea will do."

    "Okay then."

    "Hector, let''s go sit outside."

    "Okay."

Hector and Natalie moved to another room and sat on the couch. In front of them was a square table with electric heating, covered with thick fabric.

Leon and Sharon, being elderly, were afraid of the cold. They would often use this table for meals and tea as it was convenient and warm.

As soon as Natalie and Hector sat down, Leon moved to turn on the heater, but Natalie quickly stopped him.

    "Mr. Zimmer, we''re not cold."

"Oh, alright." Leon sat back down. "Then I''ll just turn the heater on my side." "Sure, that''s fine."

After a while, Sharon returned with a pot of tea. "Ms. Natalie, Ms. Lombard is so pitiful. When Mr. Langton brought her here, she was barely alive. Whoever did this

to her was truly cruel. If it weren''t for Mr. Langton, she would''ve died."

Sharon sighed. "She hasn''t said much to us, but she begged us to see you, Ms. Natalie. But Mr. Langton told us to take good care of her. Once the time was right, you woulde here. And sure enough, here you are."

"Yes. She wants to see me, and she mentioned the Langleys. She might have something important to tell me."

Natalie took a sip of the tea and turned to Hector. "Have some tea too."

    "Alright, thanks."

Hector thanked her and was lost in thought about Federrick. That man had really nned out everything for Natalie. Perhaps her greatest fortune in this lifetime was meeting her mentor.

While Leon and Sharon continued chatting with Natalie, Hector just sipped the tea in silence. After finishing the pot of tea, a faint noise came from inside the room.

    "She''s awake."

Sharon stood up. "She''s been having nightmares every night, so I''ve been staying with her in the room. I''ll go check on her."

Natalie got up. "Mrs. Zimmer, let me do it. I''ll check on her."

    "Oh, sure."

When Natalie stepped into the room, Julie was already sitting up, her forehead covered with beads of cold sweat.

When she saw someone enter, she quickly covered herself with the nket. "Don''te near me! Stay away!"

"It''s me, Natalie Walker," Natalie said calmly. Her voice was soft, devoid of emotion and warmth. "I heard you wanted to see me. Your husband is Kenton Langley, from the wealthiest family in Amberton, right?"

After hearing this, Julie slowly lowered the nket from her face. She just stared straight at Natalie.

After a long pause, she murmured, "You''ve grown up... You don''t look like you did when you were little."

"When I was little? How little are we talking about?" Natalie asked.

"When you were just a baby." Julie wiped the sweat from her forehead. "I know you''ve already severed ties with the Langleys."

"Ms. Lombard, do you think bringing up the Langleys will help you?"

Natalie stepped forward, pulled a chair, and sat down. "Mrs. Zimmer said you''ve had a hard life. Why don''t you tell me, just how hard has it been?"

Julie let out a long sigh. She slowlyy back down, but her eyes were glued to Natalie. "Ms. Walker, you''re pretty, unlike the Langleys."

    P.n

"Of course not. I''m not their biological daughter. It''s only natural that I don''t resemble them," Natalie said coldly. The gaze grew even colder "Forget about the Langleys. What I really want to know is whether you were involved in poisoning Mrs. Holden."

Julie shook her head immediately. "I didn''t harm Mrs. Holden. At that time, I was Lucy''s assistant, and knew about their n. But I had no choice. My younger sister was in Cassie Holden''s hands. To save her, I had to do as told."

"Then why aren''t you afraid now?" Natalie asked.

"Not long ago, sent my younger sister away Tears rolled down Julie''s cheeks. "She''s my only family. I had to protect her. Now that she''s safe, don''t have to worry about anything else. Also, I believe can be of use to you, Ms. Walker You''ll surely keep me safe."

Natalie chuckled. "What makes you so sure that I''ll do that?"

"I told Mrs. Zimmer to tell you that my husband is Kenton Langley, from

Amberton''s wealthiest family. I know plenty about the Langleys.

"Kenton is Grace''s biological brother. As for Megan Langley, the nutritionist who was hired to help with Mrs. Holden''s delivery, she''s actually Grace''s biological daughter," Julie said in a serious tone.

"Victor Langley isn''t Grace''s biological son. Way before that, Grace had sent Megan to Dithoria. Even the way she took you to Dithoria to get close to Mr. Holden Senior, none of them were a coincidence."

"Oh?" Natalie''s expression remained unreadable. "And?"

"Ms. Walker, I want to make a deal with you." Julie looked at her intently. "I know

many secrets about the Langleys. All I ask is for you to keep me safe."

Natalie chuckled, leaning back in her chair as she sized Julie up. "Why would I do that?"

"I don''t know. I just thought I''d take a chance and ask," she admitted.

She took a deep breath and continued, "Ms. Walker, if I don''te to you, the

Langleys wille look for me. "When they do, that would mean certain death. All I want is to live."
