Chapter 1453

    ?Chapter 1453:

“Yes, let’s keep going. We need to enjoy the rest of the evening,” Eileen said, reiming her seat.

Jacob chuckled, pulling Bryan aside, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. “I think we’ve all had our fair share of fun, but it seems you and Eileen haven’t quite had yours yet.”

Whether he was talking about the unused bed or something more was left hanging in the air.

“I’ll call for more food,” Dalores said, noticing Eileen’s hearty appetite. After a short wait, a slender waitress came to take their order.

Eileen scanned the menu but couldn’t make up her mind. Seeing this, Dalores said, “I was here with Julio a few days ago. The snacks here were quite good. Let me order some for you.”

She grabbed the menu and started chatting with the waitress. Meanwhile, Phoebe turned to Eileen, hoping to distract her from the earlier embarrassment. “So, when’s your little one due?”

    “September third,” Eileen responded.

“Are you thinking of a natural birth or a C-section?” Phoebe asked.

Eileen replied, “I had a C-section when I gave birth to Gabri, and since that was just over three years ago, they’ve rmended another surgery this time.”

The thought of the required gap between C-sections lingered in Eileen’s mind. But she hadn’t mentioned it to Bryan before.

Bryan had been so focused on her well-being during the pregnancy. It wasn’t until she was about five months along that he learned about the risks of having another child so soon after a C-section.

That realization had kept Bryan up all night. He had even considered rushing Eileen to the hospital for an abortion.

It was only the doctor’s calm reassurance—that Eileen’s body had healed well—that allowed Bryan to breathe easy and let Eileen proceed with the pregnancy.

“Which hospital are you going to?” Phoebe asked. “The one I stayed at was fantastic. Plus, the maternity care center I stayed in was also top-notch. You can go there.”

Eileen hadn’t had Gabri in this city, so she was still weighing her options about these things.

“Okay, that sounds good. I’ll check those ces out,” she replied.

Dalores, having finished cing the order, handed the menu back to the waitress. “That’ll be all.”

But the waitress stood there, unmoved. Dalores said again, raising her voice this time, “That’s all.”

Startled, the waitress quickly took the menu and replied, “Oh! Okay. Sorry, I was a bit distracted just now.”

She nodded hastily and left the room. Rounding a corner, she pulled out a recording device and dialed a number. “I’ve got what you’re looking for…”

Even though the whole “bed” misunderstanding had been cleared up by the police, the media wasn’t so quick to let it go. Reports about the matter surfaced anyway.

They yed into rumors, weaving a story about a well-known businessman with a private, peculiar bed in the D.V Club.
