    She settled onto the sofa, her pregnant belly now evident. Gabri darted around the house, clutching a toy ne and mimicking aircraft sounds. As she reached Eileen, she paused and nted a kiss on Eileen’s belly.


    She said, “‘Be good in there, and listen to Mom, okay? WThen youe out, I’ll get you a giant toy airne. ”


    She then gently patted Eileen’s belly. “I’ll share half my moneywith you. We’ll split Mom and Dad’s money equally. ” Eileen was rendered speechless by Gabri’s words.


    Gabri was indeed eager to get her money.


    “But you have to behave,” Gabri continued seriously. “Don ‘t make Mommy ufortable. Don ‘t hurt Mommy ” As Eileen watched Gabri’s one-sided conversation with her unborn sibling, a warmth blossomed in her chest. However, she was caught off guard when Gabri suddenly raised the toy ne to hit her belly, as if chastising the baby for perceived disobedience.


    Ruby eximed, “0h, you little rascal!” Eileen instinctively reached out to catch the toy ne, bracing herself for the inevitable impact, but just before it could connect with her stomach, a swift hand intercepted Gabri’s small arm. A shiver ran down Eileen’s spine as the close call sank in.

    “You can’t just throw things at someone’s stomach like that.” Bryan’s voice was firm and unyielding as he gently pried the toy from Gabri’s hand. His gaze softened a little, but his words remained serious. “Even if Mommy weren’t pregnant, it would still hurt. The baby inside her belly is fragile and still growing. ”


    Gabri’s wide eyes darted from Bryan to Eileen, her face flushing. She muttered in a small voice, “I… I was only pretending to scare her.”

    The frightened look on Gabri’s face tugged at Eileen’s heartstrings, so she quickly said, “Sweetie, I know you wouldn’t actually hurt me. You were just ying, trying to spook the baby, right? But from now on, let’s stick to using words for that, okay?”


    Gabri nodded, slipping around Bryan to sit beside Eileen. Bryan’s face remained tight, not out of anger but from sheer fear of what could have happened.


    Ruby, ever the peacekeeper, said, “Kids will be kids. It’s in their nature to get a little too yful sometimes. In fact,pared to most kids, Gabri is pretty well-behaved.” As she spoke, Ruby seated herself next to Gabri, tenderly smoothing the little girl’s braids, her voice barely a whisper, hoping tofort her.


    Gabri’s eyes, still flickering with nervousness, turned to Bryan. “Daddy, are you mad?”


    “‘No, sweetie.” Bryan’s voice softened. “1 was just scared; that’s all. You gave me quite a fright.”


    Ruby then coaxed Gabri to y by therge windows in the living room.
