    Eileen, on the other hand, had nned to leap onto Bryan’s back but hesitated under his sharp gaze. Bryan’s eyes briefly swept over her rounded belly, reminding her she was still pregnant with their second child. Unaware of the silent exchange between her parents, Gabri clung to Bryan’s leg and continued her yful assault while giggling.


    Despite her efforts, she was too small to do anything to Bryan. He was as steady as a mountain and did not take her seriously. He turned his questioning gaze to Eileen and asked, “What’s going on?”


    With an awkward smile, Eileen eximed, “Sneak attack!” Before Bryan could fully process her words, a sharp pain suddenly shot through his leg. He nced down and found Gabri biting him.


    “Gabri, let go,” Bryan said.


    Eileen set down the back scratcher she had been holding and patted Gabri’s head gently. “Don’t hurt your teeth by biting too hard.”


    Bryan watched Eileen gently pull Gabri away.


    Gabri wiped her mouth with a mischievous grin and dered, “Sessful sneak attack!” Then, before darting out of the room, she shouted, “Mommy, run!”


    In an instant, the room was quiet except for the fading sound of Gabri’s triumphantughter. Now, Eileen and Bryan were left standing alone in the bedroom.


    Eileen’s gaze flicked to Bryan as he began to take off his trousers to inspect his leg. Several small but distinct teeth marks were visible above his knee.


    “How did you get yourself entangled with another woman again?” Eileen quickly said. “It has even reached thepany. It’s only natural that the news would get to me.”

    Did he honestly believe she wouldn’t know?


    Bryan rubbed the bitten area and looked at Eileen with confusion written all over his face.


    “What are you talking about?” he asked. He sat down and began to piece the events together. “Was that why you and Gabri tried to settle ounts with me?”


    Eileen felt a twinge of unease upon hearing that.


    Nheless, she still said, “Who knows? Are you pretending not to know, or do you genuinely have no idea?”


    Bryan chuckled and threw his trousers aside. Then, he nced sideways at her and teasingly said, “You should be the first to know if I were having an affair with another woman.”


    His gaze at her was always intense with desire.


    The intensity of his desire had only deepened recently and evolved into a fiery ze. If he had been involved with someone else, the ze would have been extinguished by now.


    Eileen averted her gaze, her ears flushing a deep shade of red. “You should get dressed and then go downstairs. I’ll go check on Gabri.”


    That little girl was probably downstairs giggling uncontrobly by now.


    Sure enough, before Eileen could even see Gabri, she could already hear Gabri’sughter echoing through the house.


    Gabri was showing Ruby how she had “sneak attacked” Bryan, her hands iling dramatically with each detail. Ruby didn’t understand what Gabri was saying but was amused by Gabri’s lively performance.
