    “Hey, Gabri, did you miss me?” Bryan asked, squatting down to her level. “Is that lollipop sweet? Can I taste it?”


    “Nope, not sweet,” Gabri mumbled, reluctantly offering the lollipop to Bryan. “Mommy’s dessert is sweet. She bought it for you.”


    Bryan chuckled, gently pushing the lollipop back into Gabri’s mouth. Then, he pulled up a cartoon about tooth decay on his tablet and showed it to her. “You know, too much candy is bad for your teeth. See for yourself.” Gabri started watching intently.


    Bryan joined Eileen on the sofa, casually slipping his arm around her and pulling her closer. “Not too busy at work, I see. You’re always monitoring the security cameras, huh? Is that how you caught that adorable moment?”


    Eileen rolled her eyes at Bryan’s smile. “Gabri was just using that as an excuse to buy the lollipop she wanted. We need to make her realize that this isn’t the right thing to do.”


    Bryan shrugged, his tone affectionate. “I don’t care how busy things get at work. I need you both by my side.”


    He then grabbed the remote and clicked a button. A small TV, usually tuned to the financial news channel, was perched on a tripod in front of his desk. But instead of stock prices or market trends, the screen disyed a live feed from the home security cameras.


    Knowing Eileen and Gabri were on their way, Bryan had switched off the surveince footage. If it weren’t for their arrival, he would have kept it running.

    Bryan looked at Eileen, an eyebrow raised, his gaze mixing pride and arrogance, which puzzled her.


    Eileen leaned back, tilting her head to meet his eyes. “Why aren’t you focusing on your work? Why spend all day watching the footage?”


    Fortunately, she had done nothing wrong. Otherwise, it would have been easy for her to be exposed.


    “I work diligently for you, and asionally ncing at you when I’m tired helps me recharge,” Bryan exined, his words warming Eileen’s heart.


    Just then, the phone on the desk rang. Bryan stood up to answer it. The conversation seemed to darken his expression.

    After issuing detailed directives regarding the projects Javier was attempting to meddle in, Bryan nced at Eileen and said into the phone, “The trap Eileen set previously is ready. Let Javier witness how ‘remarkable’ his new wife is.”


    When Bryan heard that Javier had set his sights on a project he had been preparing for some time, he realized that Javier had beenpletely swayed by Amoura and could no longer discern right from wrong.
