?Chapter 1360:
Eileen knew it wasn’t like she was doing Barry a huge favor. Someone had to get those contracts, and it might as well be him. Besides, she was confident Milford would find a way to make the most of any opportunity. His talent couldn’t be buried.
“Maybe Barry’s the lucky one having Milford around. If it weren’t for that connection, we wouldn’t even consider giving a small-time contractor like him a shot,” Phoebe said, clearly ready to take Barry down if he ever messed with Milford.
Eileenughed. “Okay, okay, rx! It’s not that serious.” She then hung up the phone and looked up to see Gabri standing there, a card clutched in her hand.
“What’s going on, sweetie?” Eileen asked, curious.
“Mom, I want to buy something!” Gabri announced, proudly holding up the card. “I have my own money now!” Eileen couldn’t help but feel a sense of resignation. Gabri had never fully understood the concept of money, and ever since Eileen had started saving for her, her understanding of it seemed to have worsened.
Gabri had already promised Ruby a house and two cars. She also promised to buy Eileen a diamond ring. If Eileen hadn’t stepped in, Gabri would have rushed into the mall and bought those things.
The problem was that Gabri’s bank ount wasn’t exactly overflowing. A few thousand dors wouldn’t be enough for those purchases. But Gabri seemed oblivious to the reality of money and kept insisting that Eileen take her shopping.
“What do you want to buy now?” Eileen asked, trying to steer the conversation.

Sensing Eileen’s hesitation, Gabri tilted her head, thinking for a moment. “Let’s go see Daddy and buy him some snacks!”
“Honey, Daddy’s at work right now. We shouldn’t bother him,” Eileen exined patiently. “How about we go for a nice walk in the park instead? No shopping this time.”
Gabri’s face fell. She flopped back onto the sofa, kicking her feet in frustration. “But I want to see Daddy! I miss him! He works so hard, and I want to get him something!”
Eileen was momentarily at a loss for words. Before she could respond, her phone buzzed with a message from Bryan.
“Bring her over,” the text read. Eileen nced at the security camera blinking in the corner of the room and rolled her eyes.
“Alright,” Eileen said with a sigh. “We’ll go see Daddy.” She had no choice. She quickly changed Gabri into a presentable outfit, and they headed straight to the EB Group’s headquarters.
On the way, Eileen stopped at a mall to buy some snacks. Gabri, seizing the opportunity, grabbed a lollipop. Thirty minutester, they arrived at the EB Group’s headquarters and made their way to the CEO’s office. Eileen ced the snacks she’d bought on the table, while Gabri happily munched on her lollipop.
“Daddy!” Gabri called out as she entered.
Eileen settled onto the sofa, enjoying her dessert.
