Chapter 1267

    ?Chapter 1267:

“You’re lucky. Even though your daughter can’t have kids, she got married. What about my luck then?” Winona shot to her feet. “It’s easy to talk when you’re not the one facing the problem!”

    Ruby was rendered speechless.

Eileen stood up, locking eyes with Winona, and calmly said, “If you can persuade Huey to divorce Bailee, we won’t stand in the way, and we won’t ask for anypensation. Beyond that, there’s nothing we can do.”

    Frustrated, Winona stormed out.

“Mom, by now, you should know what Winona’s like. She preys on the weak but backs down when people stand firm. If you give her an inch, she’ll take a mile.” Eileen hated…

Seeing Ruby being treated that way, Eileen sighed. “When ites to Bailee, just let things y out naturally. Stay away from Winona as much as possible, and don’t worry about the situation. As long as Bailee is happy, that’s all that matters.”

Lately, Ruby had found somefort in Bailee’s decision to try IVF, but Winona’s visit had brought back her concerns.

Eileen tried to console Ruby, but when she realized it wasn’t helping, she quietly headed to the kitchen to grab something to eat.

Bailee seemed to have sensed Winona’s visit and messaged Eileen to inquire about what had happened. After reassuring Bailee, Eileen decided to take Ruby and the others for a stroll to rx.

Onnd’s city center was known for its picturesque river, which froze during the winter, with fish gliding just beneath the surface of the ice. The stunningndscape drew many visitors.

Ruby walked arm-in-arm with Le, while Eileen held Gabri’s hand as they strolled along the riverbank. After walking for a while, Eileen grew tired and found a bench to sit on and take a break.

“Eileen, have you been pushing yourself too hardtely?” Ruby asked, concern evident in her voice. “I’ve noticed you’ve been either eating or napping a lot. Are you feeling exhausted?”

“Yes, I’ve been feeling a little worn out recently,” Eileen admitted. She wasn’t quite ready to mention her pregnancy yet. With Ruby still preupied with Bailee’s issue, Eileen wasn’t sure how to bring up the news.

“Sweetheart, why don’t you go with Grandma to get a closer look at the fish?” Eileen suggested, gently patting Gabri on the head.

Gabri quickly ran over to Ruby with excitement. Ruby took Gabri to see the fish while Le sat down beside Eileen.

“Are you expecting?” Le asked, leaning in closer and narrowing her eyes at Eileen.

Eileen was caught off guard, her eyes widening in surprise as she looked at Le.

“Your mother’s too wrapped up in Bailee’s issue to notice, but I’ve had my suspicions for a while,” Le grinned. “It’s great news. I might even get a chance to help out with the baby. However, now isn’t the best time to tell your mother. Wait a bit before you break the news.”

“That’s exactly what I was thinking,” Eileen said, nodding as she nced down at her still-t belly, hoping she could keep the secret a little longer.
