?Chapter 1265:
Adalina’s eyes fluttered open. The man stood with his back to the neon lights, tall and imposing. He was quickly surrounded by the punks. Muffled sounds of a fight filtered through Adalina’s haze, and she vaguely saw people crashing to the ground…
Time lost all meaning as Adalinay there until gentle hands lifted her from the chilly ground. The man carried her in his warm arms, the faint scent of tobo surprisinglyforting to her.
In the hospital.
Two hourster, Adalina’s eyes sprang open, and she jolted upright. “Milford!”
“What are you talking about?” Ryann swiftly stood up and approached her, offering a ss of warm water. “How many times have I told you not to go to ces like that…”
Before Adalina could respond, Aaron rose from the sofa, his eyes filled with remorse. “Mrs. Vance, I’m deeply sorry. I took her to that ce. It’s my birthday today, and I—”
Han smacked the back of Aaron’s head. “You’ve put an innocent girl in harm’s way. The two of you are still in college. Why did you take her to a ce like that?”
Denzel swiftly intervened, his voice soothing. “Mr. rkson, please don’t be angry. Nothing happened to Adalina. Aaron’s timely intervention saved her. We just need to make sure they won’t go there again.”
Adalina’s gaze swept across the chaotic room, her brow furrowing. She shifted her attention to Ryann and asked softly, “Mom, was Aaron really the one who rescued me?”
Ryann paused for a moment before replying, “Yes, sweetie. Who else could it have been?”
Adalina’s face fell, her gaze dropping as a wave of disappointment washed over her. That familiar feeling… She had thought it was Milford who had saved her.

“That’s enough. It’s gettingte. Mr. rkson, you can take Aaron home now.” Just as Han was about to beat Aaron, Ryann swiftly intervened, diffusing the tense situation.
“I’m so sorry about this,” Han said. “Aaron’sck of discipline is my fault. I spoiled him, and he grew up without a mother’s guidance. Saving Adalina doesn’t excuse his actions. I’ll make sure he learns his lesson and ensures something like this doesn’t happen again.”
Denzel quickly added, “Mr. rkson, you’re being too harsh on yourself.”
and Aaron. “It’s just that ces like that aren’t suitable for them. They should avoid going there in the future.”
Denzel then walked Han and Aaron out, leaving Ryann to continue her vigil beside Adalina.
As Denzel stood at the hospital entrance, he watched Han’s car disappear into the night. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a figure lingering nearby, his expression darkening as he approached. “Why are you still here?”
Milford leaned against a pir, his face bearing the evidence of the recent scuffle: a swollen bruise on his cheek and a crimson mark at the corner of his eye. He winced from the pain.
“Even though you saved her, I won’t thank you,” Denzel said, his tone stern. “What I want is for you to leave my daughter alone from now on.”
The atmosphere grew tense. Milford straightened up, hands in his pockets, and walked away quickly.
Denzel returned to the hospital without looking back.
