?Chapter 1188:
Hearing this, Eileen was stunned. She hadn’t realized that Ste had personally chosen the design of the invitations. Since Raymond had purchased the invitations, he certainly would have been aware of these details.
“Mommy, I want to drink wine,” Gabri wriggled out of Eileen’s arms and dashed to the table for a ss of beverage. Like a sneaky cat, she took a sip and nced over at Eileen.
Amused, Eileen said, “Ste, please keep an eye on her. She’s only allowed this one ss. I’m going to check on something over there.”
Ste sat down next to Gabri and responded, “Okay, go ahead.” The scene of the elderlydy sitting with the child exuded warmth.
Eileen turned and weaved through the crowd, nodding at guests asionally as she looked for Raymond.
Atst, she spotted Raymond in a corner, facing Bryan.
“What did you say?” Bryan asked. “When did I authorize the Deleon family’s entry?”
Raymond was about to reply when he noticed Eileen approaching swiftly. He resigned himself to his fate. “Yes, you didn’t imagine it. I invited them without your permission.”
Eileen overheard Raymond’s admission and questioned, “Why did you invite them? I told you not to let them disrupt our event.” The incident was bound to be a talking point after the event concluded.
“I saw it as a unique chance to deal with them assertively on our turf, so I acted without getting the green light. If you want to punish me, go ahead. I’m prepared to face the consequences,” Raymond said.

Raymond wondered if Bryan had eyes in the back of his head. Otherwise, how had Bryan noticed Eileen was approaching? Raymond believed he had been quick to y along.
Eileen felt annoyed by Raymond’s tone and the tightness in her chest. It seemed clearly like he was just making excuses. Bryan sensed something amiss. “Carry on with your duties. We’ll handle this matterter.”
“Alright,” Raymond felt fortunate that Bryan hadn’t let Eileen deal with him directly.
“What’s with him?” Eileen couldn’t help but ask. “He has never slipped up like this before!”
“I’ll speak with himter. Something might be off,” Bryan reassured Eileen. Despite his attempt to ease her worries, he also found Raymond’s behavior odd. He believed he needed to find time to talk to Raymond properly.
The banquet officiallymenced. Ste, with Gabri and Eileen, went to cut the cake. Even Bryan, Ste’s grandson, had to stand aside.
Those who had earlier thought Ste disliked Eileen quickly discarded that notion. It was clearly baseless. Eileen even seemed closer to Ste than Bryan.
Soon, the banquet concluded, and Eileen and Bryan saw the guests off. It waste, and Gabri was so exhausted that she started nodding off. By the time thest guest had departed, Gabri was fast asleep.
Ste tentatively suggested, “Why don’t you stay here tonight?”
“Okay.” Eileen had already informed Ruby and Le that they might returnte and told them not to wait up. Ruby and Le were likely asleep by now, and heading home would only disturb their rest.
Ste was delighted. “It’s cumbersome to carry Gabri’s small bed upstairs. Just let her sleep in my room.”
