?Chapter 1058:
She understood his desire for peace, but the hypocrisy was evident.
When Kam had caused a scene, Keith had stayed silent. Now that Kam was in hot water, he pleaded for discretion.
The irony wasn’t lost on Eileen.
If Kam or Jaliyah had shown any consideration, things might never have reached this impasse. Eileen believed there was no guarantee they wouldn’t concoct new schemes against herter, even if this matter ended.
After a long pause, Keith sighed heavily. “I’m being selfish, I know. Eileen, handle this as you see fit. Whatever happens… I hope our rtionship can remain as good as before.”
“Of course, there will be no gulf between us.” No sooner had Eileen spoken than a figure emerged hastily from the police station.
It was Jaliyah, her face red with rage. She grabbed Eileen and eximed, “You’re utterly contemptible! How dare you stoop so low as to ask people to impersonate the police and intimidate Miranda? You always resort to underhanded tactics!”
They were still inside the police station. Jaliyah’s rash actions and raised voice immediately caught the attention of multiple officers.
Keith scowled and bellowed in indignation, “Don’t you think this is already shameful enough? Apologize to Eileen and then go home!”
“Why should I apologize?” Jaliyah was furious. “How can you be so biased? I’m your daughter-inw, and she’s just an outsider! Why do you speak up for her and ask me to apologize? Why won’t you let your wife take responsibility and apologize? She was the mastermind behind this!”

Just as Kam approached Jaliyah to quiet her down, she suddenly found herself exposed by Jaliyah. Her eyes darkened immediately.
With a swift movement, Kam pushed Jaliyah aside. For the sake of the family’s reputation, she didn’t acknowledge what Jaliyah had said and instead pinned Eileen with a disappointed expression. “You created this spectacle without even consulting us. You show no regard for the reputations of our families and act impulsively.”
“Were you concerned about protecting our families’ reputations when you decided to tell the media about this?” Eileen asked calmly, unfazed by Kam’s attempt to guilt-trip her.
Jaliyah peeked out from behind Kam and retorted, “She went to confront your Vazquez family! But the Vazquez family insisted on denying it!”
Eileen said, “Jaliyah, if you’re losing your grip on reality, you should seek help immediately. I don’t have time for this nonsense. Come to me when you’re ready to apologize properly.”
Then, she grabbed Bryan’s arm, turned around, and walked away.
The echo of swift footsteps trailed behind her. Looking back through the nearby car’s rearview mirror, Eileen saw Jaliyah in hot pursuit, only to be stopped by Kam. Jaliyah whispered something to Kam. Then, in the next second, both women were chasing after Eileen. Just as they were about to reach her, Bryan swept Eileen into his arms and skillfully evaded the two women charging toward them.
In the blink of an eye, Jaliyah shoved Kam toward Eileen, causing Kam to lose her bnce.
Instantly, Eileen grasped their intentions and subtly signaled to Bryan. In perfect sync, they took a step back together.
