?Chapter 1057:
If he had known she had been ready for this, he wouldn’t have bothered taking the me for it.
But the joy radiating from her face quashed any thoughts of this.
Her happiness was worth any price to him.
At the station’s entrance, a swarm of reportersy in wait—another of Eileen’s carefullyid ns. They descended upon Miranda, peppering her with questions about Jaliyah’s fake pregnancy.
The news, still fresh and unreleased, hadn’t yet reached the Aston family’s ears.
As Bryan prepared his self-criticism, Eileen’s phone buzzed with a call from Kam.
“Eileen, you’re a public figure. Wouldn’t it be wiser for you to apologize to the Aston family and exin things to the Diaz family?” Kam said.
“You make a fair point,” Eileen replied. “I hope you’ll eventually deal with this like you said, Mrs. Aston. Let’s discuss this further when we meetter.”
Then, Eileen ended the call, leaving Kam perplexed.
What did Eileen mean about meetingter? She had no desire to meet Eileen.
At the police station, Miranda spilled everything she knew. Within half an hour, the authorities contacted the Aston family.
Bryan, having finished his self-criticism letter, joined Eileen outside. They leaned against their car, waiting for the Aston family’s arrival amidst a throng of reporters. Keith and Kam showed up, but Jaliyah was noticeably absent.
Your imagination begins with gα?ησν????s﹒?????
Kam shot Eileen a stern look before walking into the station with Keith.
Her face fell the moment sheid eyes on Miranda. Less than two minutester, Keith walked out of the police station, leaving Kam to handle the mess. After all, she had been in the know about the matter.
Keith paused on the steps, his gaze lingering on Eileen before he approached with a sigh. “I never imagined it woulde to this,” Keith admitted. “Jaliyah’s impulsive, but she’s not inherently bad.”
Bryan offered Keith a cigarette. “A fake pregnancy goes beyond impulsive. It’s malicious.” His tone softened slightly. “Mr. Aston, we know you’re not involved. You can distance yourself from this.”
It was clear Keith’s sympathies leaned toward his own family.
“Mr. Aston, rest assured, I won’t seek retribution as long as your daughter-inw doesn’te after me again,” Eileen said calmly, showing no signs of irritation.
“I’ll deal with them when we get home,” Keith promised, ncing back at the police station. “They’ll make a public apology. But could you keep this from escting further?”
“Escting?” Bryan’s eyebrow arched. “Did you consider it an esction when Kam confronted the Vazquez family, spreading the news everywhere?”
Keith shifted ufortably. “I wasn’t aware the full extent of it. It spiraled out of my control.”
Eileen considered his words. “It seems youck control now as well.”
