?Chapter 1030:
“Yeah,” Eileen responded.
After a while, Bryan replied, “Someone’s trying to lead me there to watch something interesting.”
“Something interesting?”
Eileen pocketed her phone and scanned the room. Her eyesnded on a familiar figure among the servants.
Even though the person was wearing a hat and a mask, Eileen recognized her instantly. The person quickly averted her gaze. As she tried to leave in a hurry, she even bumped into someone. Eileen had a hunch about what was going on. She sent a message to Bryan.
“It’s free entertainment. Just get over here and see for yourself.”
Bryan replied, “On my way.”
Although he didn’t know what would happen, the matter must have something to do with Eileen.
He had to be there for her.
Eileen put her phone away and remainedposed, making small talk with Le.
Suddenly, a group of people approached and greeted Le.
Then, the conversation shifted to Eileen.
“She’s the spitting image of Dottie.”
“Indeed. I hear she’s quite aplished!”
The chatter around Eileen was thick withpliments. Eileen nodded and kept smiling, her cheeks starting to ache from the effort.
“Is it true you’re about to marry the Brown family’s son, Eileen?”
“But aren’t you already married? Your husband’s quite the catch, rich and handsome. Why would you want to marry someone else?”
Eileen was quickly bombarded with questions, each one more pointed than thest.
The Brown family’s business was usually kept private. Hearing so many people suddenly asking about it, Eileen realized something was amiss.
“Eileen’s a married woman with a child. This rumor is absurd,” Le rapped her knuckles on the table, silencing the crowd. “Looks like you lot have too much time on your hands. Go home and mind your own damn business.”
The Vazquez family had a reputation for being tough, and Le was known for her sharp tongue. The crowd quickly fell silent. However, they still lingered nearby.
“Who says she can’t marry someone else?” A voice cut through the silence. A woman came over, removing her hat and mask. It was Jessica.
She red at Eileen. “Eileen’s nothing like the sweet and innocent Dottie. She’s ambitious. After the Vazquez family lost her, she ended up with a poor family. But she’se up on top now. Don’t you wonder how she’s done that?”
Everyone turned to look at Eileen with meaningful gazes.
Le’s face hardened, anger shing in her eyes. She wanted to stand up, but Eileen’s hand on her arm stopped her. Eileen shook her head at Le, and Le calmed down, remaining silent.
