Chapter 933

    ?Chapter 933:

    “Don’t mention it,” Eileen replied.

“Just leave me be and don’t drag me into your drunken escapades again. I’m married, you know. If the paparazzi catch wind of this, it’ll be a whole mess to clean up.”

Julio’s expression was dark, and Eileen couldn’t help but ask, “What’s the deal with you and Dolores anyway? You chased her here asking for your kid. Now, you know the kid’s gone, but you’re still clinging to her, asking her to have another one—why?”

Julio was still lost in the fog of his hangover, rubbing the spot between his eyebrows as if trying to clear his confusion. He muttered vaguely, “She had an abortion. Isn’t it only fair for her to give me another child?”

“Fine. But I haven’t settled your hotel bill. Do you have any money?” Eileen asked. She wanted to help, but she was worried that he’d call her again if he didn’t have the funds.

“Yes.” Julio sat up abruptly. “Wait, did shein to you again? I didn’t force her to sign the agreement. She sought me out.”

Eileen stopped mid-sentence. “I don’t care who initiated it. I just want to know why you agreed to this arrangement.” She didn’t believe what he had just said. If not for Emerson’s ident, Dolores would never have proposed such an outrageous agreement. Julio’s eager eptance was more baffling.

“It’s not illegal,” Julio shrugged. “We’re both divorced.”

Eileen rolled her eyes. “Why am I even discussing this with you?” She snatched his bag from the table and strode out.

Alone, Julio rubbed his forehead, his mind drifting back to the night Dolores had appeared on his doorstep.

It had beente. He had just pulled into his driveway after a business dinner when he noticed a figure standing at his door. Dolores, soaked through by the rain, had clearly been standing there for ages. Her dark overcoat masked the shivers wracking her body. It wasn’t until she stepped inside that he realized how drenched she was, her clothes sticking to her closely, revealing her perfect figure.

She had been trembling from the cold, and after he handed her a towel, she dried her hair absentmindedly before cutting straight to the chase. “Julio, I’ve divorced Kinsey.”

“And?” he had paused, then finally sat down on the sofa, crossing his legs as he looked at her casually.

“I’m leaving Alverton, and I’m here to say goodbye to you.”

Julio’s brows had knitted together in confusion. “What? Are you off to find another wealthy man to marry again?”

“This has nothing to do with you,” Dolores snapped.

“It’s because of you that I got divorced. I need you to stay away from me from now on. We never meet each other again.” Her eyes were stormy, full of emotions he couldn’t decipher.

Blinded by rage, he had missed the real message behind her words. He grabbed her cor, yanking her close. “If you’d had that baby, we’d have gone our separate ways with a clean break!”

Dolores winced at the pain, her face twisting.

“Then why don’t you just ask me to have another child to make up for it? So you can finally cut all ties with me!”
