Chapter 923

    ?Chapter 923:

Keith held a bouquet of sunflowers. “These were your mother’s favorite flowers. I brought them for her every time I visited. Once she isid to rest in the Vazquez family tomb, I won’t be able to visit her. But when you go to pay your respects annually, don’t forget to bring a bouquet of sunflowers for her.”

“Okay,” Eileen replied quietly, unsure of what else to say. Given her uncertainty about Keith’s connection to her mother, she probably should have asked him why he made it a point to visit Dottie every year. However, she refrained, sensing that Keith’s actions were motivated by deep-seated love. If she asked, he would have had to make up a reason to hide the truth, and that would only make her feel worse.

She remained still, watching in quiet contemtion as the grave was dug, and Dottie’s coffin gradually emerged from the earth.

A short distance away, a woman in her fifties stood with an air of sternness, her piercing gaze fixed on Eileen and Keith. After lingering for a while, the woman turned and left, making her way to a car parked by the roadside.

In the back seat of the vehicle sat a man wearing a peaked cap and ck sunsses, obscuring half of his face.

“Mrs. Aston, I feel sorry for you,” the man said sarcastically. “You’ve been married to Mr. Aston for years, yet you’ve failed to win his heart. To make matters worse, you’re forced to witness him reuniting with the child of his true love.”

“I believe you have no evidence,” Kam Aston sat up straight and dered with conviction. “Keith has been kind to me and our children for many years. I refuse to believe he would do such a thing.”

The man leaned in, his voice bing confrontational. “But let’s not forget, Kam, that Keith had a child with Dottie before you. Eileen is that child. Now that Eileen has returned, Keith might decide to leave the Aston family’s assets to her, given his lingering feelings for Dottie. Or, he might divide the inheritance among you, your children, and Eileen. But how is that fair? These all belong to you and your children.”

The man’s words continued to echo in Kam’s mind, causing her to instinctively clench her fists. Her gaze turned icy. “Don’t try to rile me up. Dealing with her doesn’t require my involvement.”

“You don’t have to take on the task personally, but you need to do something quietly. I’ll provide you with one assistant. Here are their contact details.” The man passed Kam a slip of paper, which she took. Then, he exited the vehicle.

The car sped away, its interior filled with a suffocating silence. The driver’s fingers itched to roll down the window, craving a breath of fresh air. But one nce at Kam in the rearview mirror—her eyes closed, fingers clutching the paper from the mysterious man—made him think twice.

After what felt like an eternity, Kam’s voice finally cut through the tension.

“How long have you served the Aston family?”

“Over thirty years, Mrs. Aston,” the driver replied.

“What do you know about Keith’s rtionship with Dottie before our marriage?” Kam slowly folded the paper in her hand.

A chill raced down the driver’s spine, his grip tightening on the steering wheel. He had been uneasy about Keith’s secret visit to Dottie’s grave, and Kam’s question filled him with dread.
