?Chapter 762:
Taken aback, Conroy quickly said, “Yes. I’ll ask her to apologize to Eileen tomorrow. We’ll leave now so that you can rest.”
With that, Conroy and Kinsey departed. Ignoring their departure, Bryan guided Eileen into the living room. He asked Raymond to tidy up the table before taking Eileen and Gabri upstairs.
Eileen bathed Gabri, tucked her into bed, and then took a bath herself. Once in bed, Bryan embraced her warmly, holding her close. He carried her into the adjacent bedroom, which featured arge bay window. They had spent the night there previously. Bryan seemed to favor this spot. He pressed Eileen against the bay window, and she ced her hands on the cold ss, worried that the pressure might shatter it.
Peering through a slit in the curtains, Eileen spotted a sneaky figure approaching Conroy’s vi.
Jessica entered the vi without knocking, using her fingerprint to unlock the door. From where Eileen stood, she could see a silhouette in the upstairs bedroom of Conroy’s vi. Soon, another figure appeared after Jessica entered.
Jessica threw herself into Conroy’s arms, but Eileen couldn’t make out their conversation. All she could see were their silhouettes merging in a tight embrace.
“Hold on a moment,” Eileen said to Bryan urgently, wanting to open the window to eavesdrop.
But Bryan was undeterred. Frowning, he drew the curtains shut.
Bryan was deeply engrossed in the moment. How could he stop right now? Eileen, however, found herself distracted. She repeatedly attempted to draw back the curtain, which only increased Bryan’s irritation.

As a result, Bryan had been rough. Eileen woke up with a sore waist and was unable to rise from bed the next morning, causing her to miss work. Aware of this, Bryan fabricated an excuse about the child causing issues at home to justify taking a day off for Eileen.
He settled Gabri in the living room and stationed himself at the table. Every so often, he entertained her with toys. As noon approached, Bryan checked his watch, shifted down hisputer, and gestured to Gabri, instructing her, “Go wake up Mommy, Daddy will start cooking.”
“Mommy, tired!” Gabri said. Gabri had been eager to y with Eileen since early morning. Bryan had repeatedly exined that Eileen was tired. Now, Gabri grasped his reasoning and attempted to use his words to her advantage.
Bryan, smiling gently, ced Gabri at the foot of the stairs and tapped her shin lightly. “Mommy has rested enough. She’ll be starving if she doesn’t get up.”
Gabri didn’t understand him fully, but seeing Bryan’s persistent encouragement, she began to crawl upstairs.
Eileen awoke to the soft taps from Gabri’s chubby hands. Gabri’s patting made Eileen’s back feel slightly sore. As Eileen opened her eyes, she found Gabri leaning in to give her a kiss.
Eileen instinctively shifted back. She picked up Gabri and inquired, “Where is Daddy?”
“Standing,” Gabri dered earnestly.
Eileen, at a loss for words and feeling puzzled, carried Gabri, freshened up, and descended the stairs, where the enticing smell of food greeted her.
