Chapter 761

    ?Chapter 761:

“Eileen, where did you get this?”

“What did you do, Eileen?” Conroy’s expression darkened immediately, his re fixed on Eileen.

From behind them, Bryan, hands in his pockets, observed the scene coolly. “What’s the problem?”

Kinsey stepped aside swiftly, allowing Bryan to approach. Jessica promptly handed the card to Bryan. “Mr. Dawson, I found this in Eileen’s ID badge. Is it yours?”

Bryan took the card, looked it over briefly, and nodded. “Yes. It’s mine.”

“What have you done, Eileen?” Jessica’s pent-up frustration burst forth. “How could you stoop to stealing? How can Mr. Dawson trust you after this?”

Conroy, misunderstanding the entire situation, believed Eileen had stolen the card and feared she would upset Bryan. He shot Eileen a warning nce and said, “Why are you just standing there in silence? Apologize to Mr. Dawson right now!”

“Why should I apologize?” Eileen responded calmly. “Just because this was found in my ID badge doesn’t mean I stole it. Isn’t it unfair to use me without any proof, Miss Marshall?”

Jessica scoffed. “Do I need to make up usations? Exin how this card ended up in your badge if you didn’t steal it. Did it just walk in there on its own?”

“Of course not. I ced it there myself,” Eileen replied.

“See? She admitted it!” Jessica turned to Bryan. “Mr. Dawson, this is uneptable. We’ll find you a new nanny immediately, and I’ll have Eileen leave right now.”

Despite her youthful appearance and charming outfit, Jessica’s demeanor was harsh. Though she appeared sweet and delicate, her tone was aggressive.

Eileen looked at Jessica with cold eyes. She hadn’t anticipated that her first significant conflict here would be with Jessica, not Conroy or Kinsey. She furrowed her brow and said, “Taking something without permission is theft, but Mr. Dawson gave me this card for household expenses. Is there a problem with that?”

Jessica found herself at a loss for words. Conroy exhaled in relief.

Kinsey, observing the tension in the room, asked Bryan, “Mr. Dawson, is that true?”

“Yes,” Bryan replied, his gaze icy as it swept over Jessica. “You’ve made a false usation, Miss Marshall.”

“Jessica, apologize to Eileen now!” Conroymanded without hesitation, eager to defuse the situation.

Jessica stomped her foot in frustration. “It can’t be true. That card was…”

She had secretly slipped the card into Eileen’s ID badge, aiming to frame her. How could Bryan have given it to Eileen? But she couldn’t reveal her actions. She bit her lip, looking back and forth between Eileen and Bryan, both of whom seemed to be mocking her. Overwhelmed with humiliation, she didn’t offer an apology. Instead, she shoved her way through them and dashed away.

Eileen wobbled and nearly tumbled. Luckily, Bryan quickly caught her, preventing a fall.

“I apologize for Jessica’s outburst,” Conroy said, attempting to justify Jessica’s behavior. “She just has a temper. I will ensure she apologizes to you tomorrow.”

Bryan’s look became frosty. “She owes an apology to Eileen, not to me.”
