?Chapter 676:
Although everything was ready, unforeseenplications could arise. That’s why they had decided to administer the antidote in the operating room, where all necessary emergency equipment was avable.
Eileen’s expression grew more serious at Josue’s words. She moved to a corner and leaned against the wall in silence, her eyes fixed intently on the door of the operating room.
“Bryan asked me to give this to you,” Josue said, extending his hand as he approached Eileen.
Eileen saw the glistening heart-shaped diamond ring resting in Josue’s palm. It was hers and Bryan’s wedding ring.
Eileen momentarily held her breath, blinking twice before slowly raising her hand to take the ring from Bryan.
“Can’t I go in?” Her voice came out soft and raspy, and her eyes reddened as she looked up at Josue. It was clear why Bryan had asked him to deliver the wedding ring to her—he had clearly prepared for the worst.
Seeing the sadness in Eileen’s eyes, Josue shook his head with a sigh. “If you had arrived earlier, you could have apanied him inside. But it’s toote now.”
Eileen felt a lump form in her throat, struggling to ept the worst possible oue.
Her body betrayed her deepest fears as tears began to well up in her eyes.
Watching Eileen’s tears, Josue felt the sting of emotion himself, afraid he might break down as well, given Bryan had been his close friend for years. He tried to control his emotions and said, “Christos might be a bad person, but he’s notpletely heartless. Don’t worry; the antidote has to be real. We just can’t predict the reaction after it’s administered. But Bryan is in the hospital—what’s there to be afraid of?”
Eileen turned her head, wiping away her tears. A spark of hope kindled in her heart. “I’m not afraid. The hospital is the right ce. Regardless of Bryan’s reaction, at least he’s somewhere he can be treated.”

Eileen clutched Bryan’s wedding ring tightly. No matter the oue, she had to remain patient and stay by his side.
Half an hourter, the light outside the operating room abruptly turned off. Eileen rushed forward at once. Shortly after, a doctor emerged from the operating room.
Unable to contain herself, Eileen asked, “Doctor, how is he?”
“The antidote has been injected, but Mr. Dawson remains unconscious post-injection. However, his vitals are stable across the board. We need to move him to a hospital bed for further monitoring,” the doctor said.
Once Bryan was moved to the ward, he remained unconscious. Eileen anxiously inquired of the doctor, “When will he wake up?”
“Well… the medication in his system contains some unpredictable elements, so we cannot determine when he will regain consciousness.” The doctor wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, fearing that Eileen might lose herposure.
Hearing the doctor’s words and seeing Bryan lying motionless on the bed, Eileen felt her heart sink. She said nothing, merely gripping Bryan’s hand tightly, her resolve unwavering.
