?Chapter 666:
Even though Denise had demanded a vi to sever their ties, Eileen knew that Denise’s greed was endless. She realized that if Denise got the vi, she might soon ask for a car or even more luxurious items.
That was why Eileen had to refuse Denise. Moreover, now that she had learned she wasn’t rted to Denise, she saw no reason to keep indulging her.
Later in the evening, Huey also came over. Bryan was staying at Josue’s and woulde to pick Eileen up the next morning.
The room was decorated for the wedding, and therge vi radiated joy. Although Bryan and Eileen were staying on the first floor, the bridal room had been set up on the second floor. Eileen would be escorted from the first floor by Bryan, and after the celebrations, they would spend their wedding night on the second floor.
It wasn’t supposed to be soplicated, but Ruby insisted on the traditional separation before the wedding.
In the quiet of the night, Eileen felt the reality of her impending marriage. She was overwhelmed with sleeplessness. Lying in bed, she toyed with Gabri’s hands and reminisced about the past. Her emotions were a mix of bitterness and sweetness. Yet, these memories couldn’t shield her from the fear of an uncertain future, which stirred anxiety and worry within her.
Suddenly, her phone on the bedside table buzzed. She picked it up and looked at the screen.
It was a message from an unknown number. After reading it, she was nearly certain it was from Christos:
“Eileen, are you happy about getting married?”
Eileen instinctively frowned and replied, “What are you trying to do?”
Christos responded, “I just want to make sure you’re happy. With Bryan in such poor health, are you still eager to marry him?”

“Otherwise, what do you think tomorrow’s wedding is, a fake show?” Eileen retorted. Everyone knew the wedding date—how could it possibly be a sham?
Christos replied, “But I don’t want you to marry him. I don’t think he deserves you.”
Eileen responded, “If you’re trying to create doubts or convince me not to marry, I suggest you stop. You text me hoping I’ll curse you out, but I won’t give you that satisfaction.”
Christos, appearing upset, sent several crying emojis.
Eileen found the timing and nature of Christos’s messages bizarre, especially considering the gravity of their rtionship. She didn’t understand why he was in the mood for such a conversation.
Christos sent another message: “Eileen, the antidote on the dog is a fake. The real antidote is with me. If you decide not to marry him, I will give it to him. What do you think?”
Just as Eileen was about to put her phone away, Christos sent another message.
After Eileen read it, her eyes narrowed. She threw back the quilt, climbed out of bed, and quietly left the room to call Christos.
