?Chapter 631:
The legal letter from a few years ago had indeed silenced Denise. If she had persisted in causing trouble, she could have ended up in jail.
The situation had stirred significant attention. Someizens, unaware of Denise’s greed, used Eileen of being overly harsh. With Eileen’s rising status and wealth, if Denise made a fuss now, it would surely attract even more scrutiny, which would undoubtedly affect Eileen.
Denise was confident in this, and that was why she decided to make a scene. She yelled, “It’s just a vi. You could easily afford it. If you can be so generous to outsiders, why can’t you extend the same generosity to me, your mother?”
“Enough!” Eileen said, her gaze frosty. “I’m not intimidated by drama. If you want to make a fuss, I’m more than willing to be part of it.”
“You ungrateful daughter!” Denise shouted. “I’m your mother. If you continue to treat me like this, you’ll face karma…”
Several affluent women from the neighborhood noticed themotion and approached to see what was happening upon recognizing Eileen.
Observing their approach, Eileen quickly turned and called security. Ruby, standing nearby, scowled in anger. She swiftly pulled Denise to a corner before the group of wealthy women could approach.
When Denise realized what was happening, she had already been pulled into the corner. She shoved Ruby away and eximed, “What are you doing? You’re nothing more than a mistress who took my husband and my daughter away from me. You—”
“Denise, stop being so shameless! Eileen has been more than fair by giving you two thousand dors a month. You should be ashamed to ept it. If you keep causing problems, you might even lose that!” Ruby said sharply, keeping her voice low.
“You…” Denise was taken aback and hesitated, her arrogance momentarily curbed. “What do you know?”
“I know everything I need to know.” Ruby sighed with relief as she saw Denise subdue her arrogance, though her face remained stern. “Don’t think that once Eileen’s father is gone, the truth will stay hidden forever. If you harass Eileen again, I’ll make sure she learns the truth.”

With that, Ruby huffed and swiftly walked back into themunity, brushing past the wealthy women, who nced at her. She straightened her back and hurried over to Eileen, who had just exited the security booth.
A few security guards came out to escort Denise away. The wealthy women had no time to engage in conversation with her. Surprisingly, Denise didn’t resist and left in a huff.
“Mom, what did you say to her?” Eileen asked, having noticed Ruby speaking to Denise earlier.
Ruby took the shopping bags from Eileen and replied, “We’re of a simr age, so I know how to handle her. See? She’s quiet now.”
Eileen, still doubtful, said, “But she’s not the type to be swayed easily by others.” She knew Roderick must have tried to convince Denise numerous times in private.
Ruby replied, “I have my methods. Let’s head back now; Bailee is still waiting for us.” They quickened their pace and headed home to prepare the meal.
In any case, the Baker family issue was resolved. Despite his mother’s objections, Huey hadn’t married someone else. Ruby was quite pleased with this decision and no longer held the same level of dislike for him as she once had.
