?Chapter 630:
“Eileen pulls in hundreds of millions every year, while you, as her sister, only make a couple hundred thousand. People will gossip if they know this,” Huey continued, rubbing his temples. He could already hear the whispers and judgments.
Bailee’s stomach twisted at the thought. She knew that if people ever dug into Eileen’s life and discovered her much lower earnings, the rumor mill would go into overdrive. They would portray Eileen as the cold, heartless stepsister who didn’t care about her family.
Thinking of this, Bailee realized she couldn’t dy the matter any longer.
“It’s pretty awkward to talk about this, but let’s settle it today and never bring it up again. It could really strain our rtionship,” Eileen said. “I’ll go with you on Monday to prepare the legal paperwork.”
Bailee had no choice but to agree. She nodded.
The next two hours were spent discussing Winona’s situation, but Ruby still hadn’t returned.
Eileen decided to let Bailee take care of Gabri for the time being. “I’m going to find Ruby,” she said.
Her biggest concern was the persistent gossip circting in themunity. She feared Ruby might end up in a confrontation with someone.
Eileen stepped out of the vi and began her search. She wandered the neighborhood streets but couldn’t spot Ruby anywhere. Finally, as she approached the corner near the supermarket, she saw Ruby holding several bags, engaged in a heated argument with Denise.
“Listen here,” Denise said, gripping Ruby’s wrist. “I just want to see Eileen. Take me to her. I have every right to talk to her!”
Ruby, struggling to bnce the bags, red at Denise. “If you want to see Eileen, figure it out yourself. I won’t take you to her!”
Denise shouted angrily, “How could you be so shameless? You and your daughter are always leeching off my daughter. Can’t you stand on your own for once?”
Your imagination thrives at punt
“Let go of her!” Eileen’s voice rang out as she rushed over, taking the bags from Ruby’s hands.
The intensity in Eileen’s voice made Denise release Ruby immediately. Eileen grabbed Ruby’s hand and started leading her back home.
But Denise wasn’t ready to give up. She caught up with them, desperation in her eyes. “Wait, Eileen. I need to talk to you. Just give me a chance.”
“Five minutes,” Eileen replied coldly, not even looking at Denise.
“I’m tired of this,” Denise continued, her tone demanding. “Buy me a vi, and I promise I’ll never bother you again. I’ll pretend to be a stranger if we ever meet.”
Noticing that Denise was going to great lengths to stop her, Eileen realized that Denise wouldn’t relent until the issue was settled.
“I don’t n to sever all ties with you,” Eileen said. “Roderick is in the middle of this, and I don’t want to make things harder for him.”
“Don’t pretend you care about Roderick that much!” Denise rolled her eyes. “You’re worth billions, and Roderick can barely afford a house in Onnd! Do you even deserve to be his sister?”
“That’s not for you to decide!” Eileen retorted.
For a moment, Denise was speechless. Spotting someone nearby, she began to make a scene. “Alright, if you refuse to meet my demands today, I’ll let everyone know how badly you’re treating me! Look, everyone! This is my daughter, who earns hundreds of millions every month but only gives her mother two thousand dors a month!”
