Chapter 609

    ?Chapter 609:

Z’s parents had readily agreed. They demanded a substantial sum and allowed the Dawson family to take Z away without any second thoughts.

Z vividly remembered that scene. As a result, she harbored more resentment toward her parents than toward Brandon and Lydia. After squandering the money from selling Z, her parents had gued her again, incessantly demanding more money. Eventually, Z had been driven to desperation. She had orchestrated a car ident and killed her parents.

Milford was the only family she had left. She hadn’t nned to associate with him, but when Bryan visited Wist Land, she acknowledged Milford to maintain contact with Bryan.

The information Raymond sent to Eileen included evidence that Z had bribed a truck driver to murder her parents.

In the evening, Eileen went directly to Z’s ce. After knocking, she heard Z’s voice from inside, “Leave the takeout at the door. I’ll get it myself.”

“It’s me. Open the door,” Eileen replied.

As soon as she finished speaking, she heard movement inside the room.

After a long pause, the door finally opened. In addition to Z, a man was also inside the room. Wearing a vest, the man brushed past Eileen and exited without a word.

The air inside was thick with the unpleasant smell of hormones.

Z, usually so confident and poised, now appeared disheveled, although her eyes still retained a hint of arrogance. She opened the window to let in some fresh air, sat down on the sofa, and lit a cigarette.

Once the smell began to dissipate, Eileen stepped inside and tossed a sealed bag onto the table in front of Z.

“Eileen, have you been having a tough timetely? Are you afraid to face me?” Z asked as she opened the bag. “So, you’re finally ready to confront me, huh? Why have you been such a coward?”

With her hands in her pockets, Eileen calmly let Z speak her mind. She watched as Z’s expression shifted when she clearly saw the contents of the sealed bag. A subtle smile spread across Eileen’s face.

“Consider yourself lucky that I’ve hesitated for so long, or you wouldn’t even be living the life you have now. Let’s make an agreement: give me Travis’s whereabouts, and I won’t hand the evidence over to the authorities,” Eileen said, her voice cold.

“What do you want with Travis?” Z stood up, her eyes locking with Eileen’s. “What, are you nning to kill Travis to avenge Bryan? Even if you do, Bryan won’te back! And you’ll end up in prison!”

Z’s words seemed to be an attempt to dissuade Eileen, but the thought of it all exhrated her. She continued, “If you really go through with it, I won’t mind if you take the evidence to the cops. Maybe we can still be friends… behind bars!”

She seemed unhinged now, possibly due to the overwhelming circumstances that had drained her will to live.

“You’ve lostpletely. Don’t try to drag me down with you. Where is Travis?” Eileen demanded, her tone as icy as ever.

“I have no idea where he is, but he’s been asking about you through me.” Z sat back down. “He seems interested in you. Should I pass along a message telling him you’re looking for him?”

Eileen wasn’t sure if Travis would hide further upon learning that she was looking for him, nor did she understand why he had asked Z about her.
