?Chapter 597:
Eileen and Benjamin had already nned for these contingencies, so they called a meeting with several vige officials.
Bryan, who had been appointed the project liaison by the vigers, also attended the meeting.
Eileen and Benjamin proposed three precautionary measures and discussed which one would be the most effective.
The vigers were excited to see such actionable ns being developed so quickly.
“Ms. Curtis, Mr. Nash, you two are so capable and talented. Could you leave your contact information? In case of emergencies, we could reach out directly,” one of the vigers asked.
Benjamin handed over a business card. “Here’s my card. Feel free to call me anytime.”
Someone then turned to Eileen and asked, “And what about Ms. Curtis?”
“If you get in touch with him, you’ll reach me too. After we return, we’ll be together most of the time, whether it’s during work hours or not,” Eileen replied, ncing at Bryan.
At the end of the table, Bryan lifted his head and nced her way.
Eileen continued, “Mr. Nash and I are catching a flight tomorrow morning. If you need anything while we’re gone, you can contact Raymond.”
As Eileen turned her gaze away and prepared to leave with Benjamin, Bryan, who had been silent, unexpectedly spoke up. “Ms. Curtis, can we have a talk alone?”
The vigers exchanged puzzled nces.
“Mr. Dawson, whatever you have to say, you can say it here,” Eileen said as she settled back into her chair.

“It would be better to discuss this privately,” Bryan replied.
“We don’t know each other well enough to require privacy. We only discuss work matters. To avoid any misunderstandings, please speak openly here, or not at all,” Eileen said.
Bryan nced over at Benjamin.
“Let’s step outside,” Benjamin suggested, leading the others out of the room.
The room was furnished with chairs that were ufortable to sit on.
Bryan stood up abruptly, his knee colliding with the unforgiving edge of a chair. But he didn’t seem to feel any pain.
He walked to Eileen’s side, maintaining a cautious distance between them.
“Are you angry with me?” he asked.
“Mr. Dawson, what’s this about? I don’t see why I’d be angry with you. I barely know you,” Eileen replied, not even looking at him.
Bryan’s lips tightened in understanding as he saw through Eileen’s facade. He had discovered long ago that she had been putting on an act.
“I’ve arranged a flight for you tomorrow afternoon. Are you going back or not?” Eileen said directly, turning to face him.
Their gazes locked, the air heavy with unspoken words. Eileen couldn’t remember thest time she had looked at him like this.
It felt like a distant echo of a dream, but it didn’t bring her any joy.
