?Chapter 574:
“I don’t want to hear the details!” Eileen’s voice was sharp with a mixture of helplessness and pain. “You need to contact the doctor and arrange for a thorough examination of Bryan.”
Raymond quickly responded, “Ms. Curtis, that’s difficult. Mr. Dawson isn’t allowing strangers near him. If a doctor approaches him for an examination, he’ll refuse. Also, the Dury family is protective and won’t let us in.”
“I can’t let him marry someone else!” Eileen was paralyzed with the thought of moving closer, unwilling to witness Bryan and Zelda receiving well-wishes.
The house Eileen had purchased in the vige was two stories high. From the top floor, she could gaze out at the sea and watch the sunrise over the mountains. Raymond had arranged the room’s decorations and furniture in advance, ensuring there were areas for Gabri to y and that the security was as tight as it was in Onnd.
After returning to the house, Eileen ced Gabri in the ypen and settled on the carpet. She watched her daughter in silence, her mind reying memories of Bryan spending time with Gabri.
Jacob and Josue entered, finding Eileen lost in thought. The sight was too much for them.
“No wonder Bryan hasn’t visited her or allowed us to update him on her condition,” Jacob murmured sadly. “If we, as her friends, are this distressed for her, imagine how Bryan must feel.”
Josue watched Eileen for a moment, then turned to Jacob and whispered, “We shouldn’t cause more harm now. Do you think Eileen would feel better if we told her the truth?”
A heavy silence hung between them. They were unsure which pain was easier to bear.
“Damn it!” Josue eximed, punching the wall. “I should go abroad and get back at Dewitt now! If it weren’t for him, we wouldn’t be in this mess.”
“Let’s not dwell on that. We need to focus on the task Bryan gave us,” Jacob said, patting Josue on the shoulder. “You’ve already upset Eileen. Doing more wouldn’t help. You tell her.”

Josue shoved Jacob’s hand away, retorting, “What are you thinking? Do you want me banned from returning to Onnd? If I upset Eileen too much, my mother won’t let mee home!”
The two muttered in low voices, nudging each other to go first.
“You don’t have toe over here. You can just talk from there,” Eileen said, having noticed Josue and Jacob long ago from behind the carved designs of the vestibule cab.
Josue peeked from behind the cab and said, “Then I’ll start. Bryan is getting married. Jacob will tell you the rest.”
With that, Josue disappeared back behind the cab.
After a tense pause, Jacob gathered his courage and approached Eileen. “Eileen, you can’t keep waiting for him like this. You’ve even brought your child here. Have you considered what you’ll do if Bryan doesn’t remember you and falls for Zelda?”
“I’ve never considered that,” Eileen responded firmly. “I won’t let that happen.”
