Chapter 532

    ?Chapter 532:

Raymond started to argue, but Bryan’s stern gaze silenced him.

Raymond felt tears welling up in his eyes. “Wait for the police! We already called them; they can help! Don’t go in there by yourself.”

“Those people can’t be trusted,” Bryan said. When he learned that Dewitt had concealed his true purpose here, Bryan knew those people would risk everything for the arrest operation.

They would sacrifice hostages to capture Travis’ father.

They wouldn’t care about Gabri’s and Ruby’s safety.

Without a second thought, Bryan turned and walked towards the mountains. His voice was cold and determined. “Take Eileen home.”

Bryan then disappeared into the thick brush on the mountainside.

Raymond started driving back. He couldn’t help but call the police, hoping they would help Bryan save Gabri.

On the way back, he got a call from Josue. Jacob had also found out about this and was rushing there with Josue.

“Did they enter the building? Stop them if you can! Whatever they’re nning, we need a police strategy. We have to work together!”

Raymond nced at the unconscious Eileen in the back seat, his voice shaky. “Ms. Curtis is with me. Mr. Dawson told me to take her home. That means… He will bring Gabri back safely today, or he’s noting back.”

Jacob roared, “What’s his n? Revenge can wait! Does he even have a n? Those people are dangerous! Why didn’t you talk him out of this? He’s lost his mind!”

Josue snatched the phone from Jacob’s hand and asked Raymond for the location. Then, he hung up.

“I’ll go and find Bryan on that mountain,” Josue said to Jacob, his voice tight with guilt. “If I hadn’t been such a fool and fallen for Dewitt’s lies, he wouldn’t be in this mess. I’ll give my own life for his if I have to.”

Without another word, Josue jumped into the car and mmed the ignition. The engine roared to life.

Jacob wasn’t about to let Josue go alone. He threw open the passenger door and practically leaped into the car. “I’ming, too.”

“Absolutely not,” Josue said, shoving Jacob out of the car, his voiceced with desperation. “You’ve got people depending on you. I can handle this alone. I’m not afraid of anything.”

Before Jacob could react, Josue started the car. The tires screeched as the car sped away, leaving Jacob standing there alone.

Jacob’s first instinct was to chase after the car, but then he stopped dead in his tracks. Images of his baby’s giggling face and Phoebe’s warm smile flooded his mind.

He clenched his fists, watching Josue’s car disappear into the distance. With a guttural roar, heshed out by punching his own car.
