Chapter 520:
“Don’t ask questions for now. Get us to the hospital. Milford has a fever,” Eileen said as she climbed into the passenger seat, wincing from her bruised arm.
The hospital was nearby, just a ten-minute drive away.
Milford was quickly rushed to the emergency room, and Eileen informed the doctor about his injured foot.
After about ten minutes, the doctor emerged from the emergency room. “Don’t worry too much. His high fever is due to a deep wound on his foot that wasn’t treated promptly, which caused it to swell. He’s likely had a fever for longer than today.”
The doctor exined the situation while asking a nurse to bring medicine for the fever and attend to Milford’s wound.
“Please settle the payment,” the doctor said as he handed over the bill.
The manager hesitated and didn’t take the bill right away.
Eileen grabbed the bill from him without hesitation. “Give him the best medicine,” she instructed the doctor. “And keep him here for two days for observation of the wound.”
The manager sighed, looking uncertain. “Just to be clear, Milford only works at the coffee shop on Saturdays, and the injury didn’t happen here. You can treat him in the hospital, but if he’s hospitalized, the cost will be high. I won’t be able to exin this to my boss.”
“Don’t worry about the money; I’ll take care of it,” Bailee said, unable to hold back any longer. She grabbed the bill from Eileen’s hands. “Eileen, I’ll settle the payment. You should go and get your arm checked by the doctor.”
Bailee then left.
Eileen hesitated. She knew admitting Milford would take a long time. Z hadn’t arrived yet, and the manager couldn’t leave Milford alone with Eileen, so they had no choice but to wait.
The doctor then took Eileen to examine her arm. The manager waited alone outside the emergency room until Z hurried in.

Z saw the manager and rushed over. “What happened? What’s wrong with Milford?” she asked urgently.
The manager stood up to exin, “Miss Murray, your brother has a fever…”
Z cut him off, her brow furrowing into a deep frown. “A fever? Seriously? That’s why you’re blowing up my phone? Why did you have to send him to the hospital? Can’t you just give him some medicine?”
The manager was stunned, pletely taken aback.
Was Z really Milford’s sister? Eileen had shown more concern for him, and she was only an acquaintance…
“Where is he?” Z demanded, impatience rising in her voice.
The manager gestured toward the curtained entrance of the emergency room. “He has an infection in his foot wound, and it’s started to swell. They’re cleaning him up now. The doctor already gave him something for the fever.”
Before the manager could finish, Z waved her hand dismissively. “Listen up, you’re covering all the expenses. He got hurt on your watch!”
