?Chapter 511:
“Shut up!” Josue interjected sharply, his wordsced with bitterness. Suddenly, he reached out and grasped Edna’s neck, his forehead veins bulging. “The issue isn’t about going back, but how you’ve deceived me and kept me from seeing our child!”
Edna felt his grip wasn’t tight, yet the emotional pain was intense.
Tears rolled down her cheeks. “But if you go back with me, you can see the child!”
“No way!” Josue’s lips parted decisively as he let go of her and turned to leave the room.
After Josue left, Dewitt returned to the room.
“He won’t go back with you. Let it go,” Dewitt said, raising an eyebrow. “He values his pride. He can’t forgive your deceit.”
Edna cried quietly, then another thought struck her. “Then why did you bring me here? Is it rted to what Josue said?”
Dewitt’s eyes shifted. “It’s confidential; I can’t discuss it. Use this time to try onest time to persuade him. If he doesn’t agree this time, you should give up and go back to get married.”
Just as he finished speaking, his phone rang. He excused himself and returned to his room to take the call.
“Don’t worry. I’ve arrived safely and am closely monitoring Bryan’s every move, ensuring his safety as best as I can. Please keep my visit a secret to avoid alerting Bryan andplicating our ns to entrap our target. Once we use Bryan to draw out the snake and capture them, we’ll make sure he receives significantpensation!”
Josue’s trip took only an hour and a half. Bryan had taken a nap with Gabri in the café. When Josue returned, Gabri was still asleep.
“The reason for their visit isn’t what we assumed,” Josue said. “He isn’t just watching that one man; there are several targets he’s after. Don’t read too much into it.” Josue felt both frustrated and irritated. This was his first encounter with Edna since their separation five years ago. He had consciously held back his feelings, avoiding even looking at her. Part of him was angry, and the other part feared that he might lose hisposure under her soft gaze.
Josue scratched his head and tentatively asked Bryan, “Do you know of any ces where they read fortunes?”

Bryan looked at him, puzzled. “What? Are you trying to find out more about your romantic life in the future?”
“No,” Josue leaned in and whispered, “I need someone to tell me if I’m destined to have a son or a daughter.”
Josue hadn’t seen the child yet, but he felt he should at least find out whether it was a boy or a girl.
Bryan rxed in the sunlight, asionally texting Eileen while watching Gabri. He was oblivious to Josue’s deep sense of loss and confusion.
He said, “Pride doesn’t get you much. If you still care for her, let go of her deception.”
