?Chapter 382:
Eileen considered how Bryan might feel about their next child, possibly a baby carrying the Dawson name.
If their second child turned out to be another girl, Eileen wondered if Bryan would show her the same level of fairness and love that he did with Gabri.
Wait, no. She suddenly realized that she didn’t even want another child. Such an assumption was pointless.
An ufortable silence filled the car.
The car came to a stop at their destination. Just as they unbuckled their seatbelts and prepared to exit, Bryan’s phone rang.
It was a call from the Dawson Mansion. Without hesitation, he answered and connected it to the car’s Bluetooth, allowing both him and Eileen to listen in.
“I’ll be heading up to the mountain early tomorrow,” Ste’s voice came through the speaker, carrying the heaviness of her years and a touch of helplessness. “I’ve dismissed all the staff at the Dawson Mansion, except for the old butler. He will be your main contact if you need anything. Also, there’s something important I need to discuss with you about the Apex Group.
The money that flowed into Apex Group came from Travis’s biological father, who gave it to Brandon. We still don’t know what he’s up to.
Be careful. I feel like his motives aren’t good.”
Who would risk so much for someone else? Three hundred million dors was definitely no small amount.
Every journey starts at gα?ησν????s?c????
“I can’t figure out what their endgame is with Brandon, but it’s clear what Brandon wants. He aims to take control of the Dawson family and destroy you. Please stay alert.”
The car was illuminated by the bright moonlight, casting a soft glow on Bryan. The light highlighted his sharply defined chin, the pronounced contour of his neck, and the darkness of his shirt, creating a strikingly handsome image.
“Understood,” Bryan responded to Ste.
After exchanging a few more words, Ste ended the call.
The old butler took the phone, cing it back in its spot. He hesitated, then faced Ste, his voice filled with doubt.
“What about the token that signifies the leadership of the Dawson n? Mrs. Dawson, shouldn’t you think about handing it over to Miss Curtis sooner rather thanter?”
“When I’m gone, the token will belong to her. She thinks for herself these days. Should she decide otherwise someday, I’d be powerless to intervene if she holds the token,” Ste said, her voice heavy with resignation.
Ste realized she could no longer influence Bryan or Eileen. To her, Eileen seemed vastly different now.
