?Chapter 380:
“Ste, I don’t appreciate those words,” Lydia snapped. “Even though Travis isn’t Brandon’s biological son, he’s been nothing but dedicated. Brandon has raised him as his own, and I have no doubt that Travis will be there for him when he needs him.”
“Get out of my face!” Ste’s voice shook as she responded to Lydia’s bold deration.
After a brief pause, Eileen and Bryan gently helped Ste sit on the bed.
Realizing there was nothing to gain from the situation, Brandon turned and walked away.
Lydia nced at Eileen with a mocking smile. “Ste, despite all the arrangements you’ve made for your grandson, you still can’t alter his feelings about being with her, can you? The Ferguson family is in disarray, and you’re not worried about involving your grandson in this turmoil?”
“It’s none of your business,” Ste retorted coldly, her lips pale as she gestured to the old butler.
The old butler quickly escorted Lydia out, prepared to intervene further if necessary.
Lydia reluctantly left the room.
The bedroom was cluttered to the point where there was barely any space to stand. Eileen nced around, poised to start cleaning.
Suddenly, Ste spoke in a cold voice, “You’re my guest. Don’t bother with this mess. We have servants for that.”
Her tone wasn’t overtly unfriendly, but her boundaries were clear.
“Please, don’t let theme in again.” Bryan walked over to Eileen and gently took her wrist. He then turned to address the old butler who had just entered, his voice carrying an air ofmand. “I’m bringing extra staff. Make sure everything is sorted out.”

Ste’s eyes were fixed on how Bryan’s hand sped Eileen’s wrist. Cutting off the old butler before he could respond, she asked, “You founded the EB Group yourself, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” Bryan replied, his voice neutral. He had never intended to keep secrets from her about his business dealings. From the moment he started his ns, he had been transparent with her, concealing nothing. Despite this, Ste never took the initiative to discuss any strategies with him beforehand.
Consequently, they each had their own agendas.
He tolerated the trouble from Ste, yet she continually created problems for him.
After a prolonged silence, Ste inhaled deeply and said, “I guess I’m just old and in the way. Don’t worry about amodating me. I’ll head to the mountains tomorrow and stay there for a while. I won’t meddle in your life.”
Throughout her deration, she didn’t once mention Eileen, nor did she nce in her direction.
Bryan nodded in response. “Take care of yourself. Once EB Group is stable and the timing feels right, I’ll inform you before the wedding with Eileen. That’s when you can return from the mountains.”
