The fact that Eva can stare daggers at me while Selena gets ready to cut into her shows how strong
she is. When I started beating Jeremy I had no idea I would be interrupted with my mate being in
labour, the second Francis and Stuart mentioned blood, it was like the world fell away and all that
mattered was Eva and our pup.
“What was that?” Eva tries to sit up but whatever Selena injected. seems to have caused her to
be immobile, “I can’t move!” Eva’s panic is evident as I grab her sweaty hand and lean down to
kiss her forehead.
“It’s just the drug Eva, keep calm. I can almost see your baby.” Selena says from behind the screen

“Go and look, make sure she’s alright.” I know Eva means the pup so I lean down and kiss her sweaty
forehead again as I let go of her hand and walk behind the screen.
The second I see Selena elbow deep in Eva’s stomach I really wish I had stayed behind the screen, I

everything is perfect but I can’t seem to move or even make a noise leave my mouth.
“Rowan! I need you!” Selena screams while holding the tiny bundle, “he’s fine Eva. Seeing your mate
like this can’t be easy. You have a beautiful little boy.” Three things happen at once, I smell a male
enter the room, Eva starts to cry tears of joy and then my world goes ck.
‘Call yourself an Alpha!‘ I open my eyes to see myself face to face with a te grey wolf with yellow
eyes, he’s shing all his teeth at me as he growls fiercely. ‘Passing out at the birth of your son. You

given me a son, smelling Rowan in the birthing room or the panic in Eva’s voice. It was like a sensory

is not doing anything to him.

‘A family.‘ I whisper as I wipe my hands down my shirt to get rid of the blood. ‘it’s all I’ve ever wanted. A
family filled with unconditional love.‘ Ghost sits up and looks at me with her yellow eyes, she tilts her
head to the side as if she’s trying to see me at a different angle.
‘Did we ever ce a condition on our love?‘ I shake my head no, Eva has never asked me for anything,
she’s never even asked me to love her. I gave it freely and unconditionally, then go and give our pup
the same love. Help him grow, he’s going to be amazing.‘ I stand up as I feel hands on my shoulders,
looking down there is nothing there but I can feel the strong hands squeezing me. ‘Castiel?‘ I look up at
Ghost to see her and Storm share a sad look.
“What?” I ask her as I feel the hands shake me more forcefully.
This will be your and Eva’s only pup, I can’t heal the damage it did to her body. The years of abuse and

“Is he alright?” Eva’s panicked voice has me flinging my eyes open, I’m t on the hardwood floor and
staring up at Rowan as he looks down at me with a worried look.
“Pup?” I ask him in a low voice, his face breaks out in a wide grin as he steps back and holds a hand
out to me.
“See for yourself.” He says as I rub at my jaw where he’s clearly pped me to wake me up, sping
his hand I let him pull me off the floor. Looking around I see Selena is once again behind the screen
and Eva isid back on the bed holding a bundle of fabric.
“Hey you. nice of you toe back.” Eva grins at me as tears slide. down her face. wiping my hands
down my joggers I walk towards her as she tilts the small bundle towards me.
“A son.” I whisper as his perfect little facees into view, his eyes are closed but his head full of ck
hair and tiny button nose, make it obvious he is ours. “What are we calling him Luna?” I ask her as I
crouch down beside the bed and carefully ce a hand on his nket covered chest.
“Dean.” She tells me in a quiet voice, I look up at her watery eyes to see a happy smile gracing her
face, “he was my first friend and he taught me about shifters. Really taught me, his life was cut short

nod, turning to Rowan I see him standing a respectful distance back and looking at his feet.
“Tell the Pack. Alpha Heir Dean is born, healthy and loved.” Rowan beams at me as he runs from the
room, turning back to Eva, I startbing my hand through her hair as we watch Dean start to wriggle
