?Chapter 1248:
Niks found himself at a loss, his thoughts in disarray.
“Dad, aren’t you going to intervene? Why let an outsider influence our family affairs?”
Hamilton answered withposed authority, “Dani is Cedric’s spouse, and Cedric is my son. Both are family, not outsiders. Niks, recall what I’ve taught you. We must harness talent effectively. As the heir apparent, if you cannot sway Dani, how will you manage Hamilton Group one day? Your vision is too narrow, only seeing personal benefit. Consider the group. Do you realize the potential profit from Dani coborating with our group?”
Niks opened his mouth, but no words came out.
Hamilton pressed on, “Niks, if youck this foresight, then all my efforts in your upbringing have been in vain.”
With those words, he ended the call.
Niks stood rooted to the spot, struck as if by lightning.
Meanwhile, Dani was organizing logistical details for their uing journey to Oiscoll.
Cedric was also upied, sorting through a pile of cooking equipment.
“Don’t forget these necessities; they’re essential for daily cooking,” he instructed, checking off items on a list. “We still need an oven. I had one custom-made at a—”
“Factory. It’s top-notch and definitely needs toe with us.”
Dani observed Cedric’s flurry of activity.
Joyce was watching too, puzzled by Cedric’s behavior. Despite clearly overhearing her conversation with Dani, he acted as if he hadn’t and carried on with his preparations.
It was obvious to Joyce that Cedric was serious about leaving with Dani.
She nced at Dani’s unmoved expression and let out a soft sigh.

Cedric was nearly done with his packing when Dani’s voice echoed through the room. “Cedric, step outside for a moment.”
He halted, tension creasing his brow. “What is it?”
“I need a word with you. Step outside for a sec, will you?” Dani responded, her tone insistent.
This was the first time Cedric hesitated when Dani summoned him.
He nced around, unease apparent. “I’m sort of tied up right now. What’s this about?”
Dani lingered in the doorway, her eyes steady and piercing.
Cedric shifted awkwardly, his gaze darting nervously, betraying his anxiety.
For reasons she couldn’t exin, a wave of remorse washed over Dani. Cedric was meless, yet his manner suggested guilt—as if burdened by some unspoken wrongdoing.
She watched him fumble with his belongings, clearly reluctant to join her outside.
Silently, she pressed her lips together, a sign of her growing frustration and concern.
Cedric raised his eyes to meet hers, his gaze heavy with unspoken pleas. “I don’t mean to be a bother. I’m merely going along. Is that uneptable?”
