Chapter 432

Even if she managed to conceive, she''d probably have to stay in bed to keep the baby safe. This wasn''t going to be an easy day.

But Calliope wasn''t about to share these thoughts with Gideon or Yvette. That was their business, not hers.

"Really? Well, she''s got no one to me but herself." Ss showed little concern for Yvette''s predicament. What really riled him up was how Yvette had wronged his wife.

Calliope had already given Yvette a piece of her mind, and Yvette would have to deal with the consequences of her actions. But Ss had no intention of letting Gideon off easy, either. After all, Gideon had hurt Callie countless times for Yvette''s sake, and Ss was ready to serve him a slice of karma.

Calliope hadn''t noticed Ss''s silent brooding; her mind was elsewhere.

Back home, the two of them washed up and slipped into bed. No sooner had Calliope settled under the covers than she felt something amiss-Ss''s hand was wandering again.

"No way!" She grabbed his hand to stop him.

"Come on, babe... really?" Ss uttered, looking at her with puppy eyes. "I want you!"

"Nope, I said a week off!" Calliope insisted, her lips twitching. Sure, he was a powerhouse, but even he needed to pace himself. Overdoing it could lead to problems down the road.

"A week? No! How about five days?" Ss negotiated as he gazed intently as Calliope, trying to free his hand from her grip, but Calliope held firm. The two almost started a scuffle under the covers.

"A week is a week!" she dered. "You''ve got to learn some self-control, or your body''s going to give out sooner orter. Ever heard of sustainable living? Trust me, I''m a doctor!"

Ss countered, "You can''t just throw that around to win every argument. Don''t lie to me!"

Calliope turned serious. "No, I swear, I''m not making this up. It''s the truth."

"Really? But isn''t holding back bad too?" Ss inquired, giving her that smoldering look that would melt any heart.

Calliope''s resolve wavered, and she loosened her grip slightly. Seizing the opportunity, he sped her hand tightly.

    "Babe..." he murmured, his voice

tinged with a hint of vulnerability his

eyes, which were fixated on her

filled with a depth of emotion that

could pull anyone in and quicken the pulse. -

Looking at him, Calliope felt her

    heart soften. Relented, she helped

    him out, and Ssy back,

thoroughly satisfied, showering her withpliments that had her

    blushing to her ears.

Exhausted from the whirlwind of wedding preparations, Calliope drifted off to sleep soon after.

When she woke up the next day, it was almost noon. As she descended the stairs, the maid informed her that Ss had already left for work, letting her sleep in without interruptions.

Calliope nodded while the maid served her some food. As she sat down to eat, her phone buzzed with a call from Gideon. Calliope hesitated for a moment, and then answered.

"Hey Callie-uh, Aunt Calliope, are you home?"

"What do you want?" Calliope replied, furrowing her brow.

"Yvette and I wanted toe by and apologize," Gideon said. "About yesterday we''re really sorry. Wrongdoings should be

    acknowledged, and Yvette knows it

was her fault. We want to make it right."

"There''s no need," Calliope said coolly. "What''s done is done. Yvette needs to focus on her recovery from the miscarriage. Stirring things up won''t do her any good."
