Chapter 846

"Stop ming Lisette for everything! Lisette never did anything wrong!"<fn908d> For original chapters go to find?novel</fn908d>

"If you''ve got a problem with us, fine, but leave Lisette out of it. She''s just a girl, she hasn''t done anything, so what''s her crime? You scared her!"

Valerian stood protectively in front of Lisette, ring at Ulysses with a tight jaw and barely concealed annoyance.

"Uly, you''re not a kid anymore. It''s time you started acting like it. Don''t you know who''s family and who isn''t?"

"Do you even realize how much of the Jewell family''s estate Calliope has her hands on? Do you know how important all that is to us?"

Ulysses just snorted, his face twisted with a mocking smile.

"Oh, so all you see is what Callie inherited? She''s more than capable. Maybe all that money wasn''t even Grandpa''s doing."

"And even if it was, it was his choice. What''s it got to do with you? Did you ever care how Grandpa was doing? Were you the one looking after him when he was sick?"

"Honestly, Valerian, I think Lisette''s turned your brain to mush. You can''t see anything past her! All you care about is her!"

"And for the sake of a pile of money, you''ve lost all your dignity! Ever wonder why Grandpa never told us Callie wasn''t really our sister? Maybe he kept quiet because he was afraid of someone like you!"

Ulysses shook his head, staring at Valerian in disbelief. He barely recognized his own brother anymore. How could he have changed so much?

"Grandpa was tricked by her too!" Valerian snapped coldly, "You don''t need to defend Calliope. Whatever spell she''s cast on you, I hope you snap out of it."

"How could Grandpa be fooled? He raised her. He knew exactly who she was. It''s just that Grandpa could see what our family was capable of. He knew what we''d do if we found out, so he kept it to himself."

    Ulysses let out a bitterugh.

"Mom, Dad, all you care about is that Calliope''s not your real daughter, but have you ever thought about your actual daughter? The real Calliope is dead. Doesn''t that bother you? Don''t you feel anything?"  s

Zelda just frowned, her face unreadable. To her, the girl had only ever been a burden, a ck cat crossing their path. Good riddance.

Monty hesitated for a moment, but there wasn''t a single memory of his youngest daughter in his mind.

Ulysses could see it clearly: no one here gave a damn about the girl who was gone. He gave a short, humorlessugh. "You are as cold as ice."

Horatio hesitated, ncing at Ulysses before turning to Valerian. "Valerian, maybe we shouldn''t go

ahead with the press conferencen et

We should try talking to Calle privately first. This is family business. If it blows up, it''ll just be a mess for all of us."

"No way," Valerian replied. "I''ve already arranged everything with the press. We''re going through with it."

Horatio frowned, shooting a look at Ulysses. “Uly, are you in touch with Callie? Maybe you should talk to her. Set the record straight at the conference.”

Ulysses shook his head. “Callie doesn''t even want to speak to me anymore. Why would she? We made her miserable. We hurt her, over and over again. We don''t deserve to call ourselves her brothers."

"She was never really our sister anyway," Valerian cut in. "Uly, quit making this harder than it needs to be. We''ll handle it. Just go focus on your own work. We''ve only got one sister, and that''s Lisette. Isn''t that what you always believed  s
