?Chapter 1017:
“Yes,” Allison said, her voice resolute. “It’s time to elerate things.” She exchanged a look with Ken—both understood the implications of her decision. Daniel’s greatest desire right now was the key to Hacker’s World. By using it as bait, Allison could draw him out, all while potentially making contact with her mother.
It was a bold n—one that could aplish two goals with a single move. But the risk was palpable and unavoidable.
Ken turned to Sherman. “Keep monitoring Daniel’s movements. If anything happens, report immediately.”
“Understood, Mr. Lloyd,” Sherman replied before exiting the study.
Momentster, the sound of frantic knocking echoed through the door. “Mr. Lloyd, something’s wrong!” Jim’s voice echoed through the door, ced with anxiety. “Hoyt is here causing trouble!”
Allison’s stomach churned at the mention of the name. She immediately remembered how vile the illegitimate son of the Lloyd family had been back in Athton.
Ken’s expression turned frosty. “Tell him to leave. Now.”
“We’ve tried, sir. Security is blocking the entrance, but he forced his way in,” Jim exined, wiping the sweat from his brow. “Even though he’s the illegitimate son, he’s still Brook’s child. People hesitate to stop him forcefully, worried about Brook’s reaction.”
Ken’s eyes narrowed, his gaze icy. “He must be tired of breathing.”
Allison instinctively reached for Ken’s hand. “No onees back without a reason. He’s got something nned.”
Ken’s expression darkened further, as if a distant memory had stirred something cold and unforgiving within him. “Jim, check if Brook ising home today.”
He spoke of his biological father with no reverence—just cold, detached words. Allison could feel the emotional frost in his tone, like ice that refused to thaw.
Jim quickly responded, “One moment.”
He quickly made a call on thendline. After a brief conversation, he looked up, confirming, “Yes, Brook is returning today.”
It was clear now—Hoyt had deliberately chosen today toe and stir up trouble.
Allison squeezed Ken’s hand. “Let’s go. It seems he won’t leave until he sees you.”
Together, they made their way to the living room.
Upon entering, they found their unwee guest lounging on the sofa, sipping coffee with a smug look on his face.
Hoyt, ever the provocateur, smirked as he saw Ken. “Ken, you’ve finally arrived,” he said, his eyes narrowing with malice. “I came to see grandmother. I heard she’s regained consciousness, but you didn’t bother to inform us.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Hoyt noticed Allison standing close by.
“Well, Ms. rke, you certainly resemble the mistress of the Lloyd family,” he said with a smirk.
