From some nameless nobody in level thirteen at the start, to someone who could now destroy three of his Sacred Mountains in a row and kill multiple of his strongest men, this Jared had be like a festering tumor buried in Godric''s flesh, something he wanted ripped out at any cost.
"A tiny High Immortal Realm Level Three cultivator. A bug that only just stepped into the High Immortal Realm not long ago. And he dares destroy three of my Sacred Mountains, kill three True Immortal elders, two Ghost n Sacred Paragons, and two of my disciples!"
Godric''s voice kept rising, as if the fire inside him was about to swallow him whole.
"How?! How does he have that kind of power?! My Celestial Pce is vast. My strong are everywhere. How could a small High Immortal cultivator possibly do this?!"
The more he thought about it, the harsher his fury climbed.''
He suddenly threw up his right hand and mmed his palm down hard on the jade table in front of him.
That jade table had been made from ten-thousand-year cial jade, so hard that even ordinary True Immortal experts could hardly damage it in the slightest.''
But under Godric''s strike, driven by pure rage-
Boom!
The jade table exploded into powder in an instant, and shattered fragments shot everywhere.
Some of the fragments still carried violent spiritual energy. When they mmed into the floor of the hall, they sted out one small crater after another.
The Elders in the hall all scattered out of the way, each one afraid a shard would hit them and drag them into trouble.
Godric''s chest heaved hard, and the killing intent in his eyes looked almost solid.
He turned toward the outside of the hall and shouted, "Pass down my order! Mobilize everyone in the Celestial Pce. I''ll lead the attack myself and kill Jared!"
"I''ll tear him into pieces, rip out his soul, refine his spirit, and make sure he never reincarnates. I want everyone to know what happens when they offend the Celestial Pce!"
The moment the words left his mouth, Godric turned as if to gather his forces and personally go hunt Jared down.
At that point, rage had already burned away everything else in his head. Only one thought remained there. Kill Jared, and avenge the dead elders and disciples.
"Hall Master, please wait!"
Just then, a white-haired Elder hurried a step forward, bowed, and spoke with urgency that still kept its proper respect.
This Elder was the Great Elder of the Celestial Pce. His cultivation had already reached the True Immortal Realm. He was one of the people Godric trusted most, and also the most calcting mind in the entire hall.
Godric stopped mid-step. His gaze turned cold at once, and he slowly looked back at the Great Elder. "Great Elder, are you trying to stop me?"
The Great Elder caught the killing intent in Godric''s eyes, and his whole body tightened. Even so, he forced himself to shake his head and said in a heavy voice, "Hall Master, I''m not trying to stop you. But this matter is strange. There has to be more behind it. We can''t act rashly."
He paused, drew in a breath, and went on.
"Hall Master, think about it carefully. Jared is only at High Immortal Realm Level Three. Even if his talent is extraordinary and his methods are strange, there''s no way he should have been able to easily kill three True Immortal elders."
"You know as well as I do that those three True Immortal elders were powerful experts our Celestial Pce spent years cultivating. All three were at True Immortal Realm Level One, and each of them had a technique of his own. Even against someone at True Immortal Realm, Second Order, they could still hold their ground for a while.
Godric''s brows pulled together a little, and the ze in his eyes finally eased by a fraction. In its ce, something heavier settled there.
He knew the Great Elder was right.
Three True Immortal elders dying at the same time was no ident. There had to be something behind it.
Seeing that, the Great Elder hurried to press the point. "Jared carries the Golden Dragon Bloodline. He''s a descendant of the emperor line of the ancient Draconians, and he also has a Dragonyer Sword inchis hand. There are too many strange things about this man. I think we should be cautious. If the Draconians are standing behind Jared-"
"If we rush out and hunt Jared down, and it turns out we''ve walked straight into a trap set by the Draconians, then the Celestial Pce could be pushed into a disaster it would never recover from."
"The Draconians have been out of sight for many years, but that doesn''t mean they''ve been wiped out."
"The Draconians?"
Godric''s frown deepened, and a trace of wariness shed through his eyes.
Of course he knew how terrifying the Draconians were.
Back in the elder age, the Draconians had been the strongest race under heaven. Experts had filled their ranks.
It was only because they had fought a great war with the demon race long ago, then suddenly vanished without a trace. As time passed, more and more cultivators hade to believe the Draconians were already extinct.
The Great Elder nodded, his tone grave. "The Draconians were split apart by internal strife. Some of their people went into hiding, while others threw in with the demon race and became Demon Dragons.
For all these years, the Draconians have kept out of sight. Buttely, word hase out that the remnants of the Sky Dragon Lineage are hiding deep in the Greywild Mountains, secretly gathering strength and waiting for a chance to rise again."
"After Jared came out of the Ancient Dragonmere, his strength shot up. He went from High Immortal Realm Level One straight to High Immortal Realm Level Three. There''s a very good chance he received support from the Draconians and obtained their inheritance and treasures."
Another Elder in a ck robe also
hurried forward a step and bowed in agreement. "The Great Elder is absolutely right. Hall Master, our Celestial Pce may be powerful We control half of the Fourteenth Firmament, and we have more than ten experts in the True Immortal Realm. But the foundations of the Draconians run far too deep.
"If we sh head-on with the Draconians, then even if we manage to kill Jared in
the end and wipe out the Draconian remnants, our Celestial Pce will still pay a terrible price. We''d suffer massive losses and severe damage to our strength."
He paused, then continued, "Hall
Master, don''t forget that the
Fourteenth Firmament doesn''t belong to our Celestial Pce alone. The Celestial Basilica and the Celestial Pce have both been watching our position for a long time, building strength in the shadows and waiting to rece us And those ancient families hidden in the dark are all just as ambitious. Every one of them wants a share."
"If we drain the Celestial Pce just to deal with one Jared, and give the Celestial Basilica, the Celestial Pce, and those ancient families an opening, then we''ll be surrounded on all sides. By then, the Celestial Pce might even be destroyed."
