《The Transfer》 Chapter 1 - New Beginnings Chapter 1 - New Beginnings A soft wind blew through the trees, sending leaves dancing from the breeze. Dappled sunlight shone through the tree tops, giving a little light to the otherwise dark undergrowth. I smelt him before I saw him. The Alpha. He smelt strong, his blood hummed and burned with such strength that it had me feeling a little nervous. Would this Alpha be kind? Was he going to like me and the rest of my group? He wandered through the trees, his eyes looking here and there as he stepped carefully, making sure he didn''t disturb anything around him. He looked peaceful, almost too peaceful. It put my beast on edge. We hated meeting new people. It was always nerve-wracking for us. We thought too much, we got overwhelmed and we always panicked whenever we had to speak. "This guy doesn''t look half bad. I think I could take him," Tyler whispered from next to me. I turned my head to him, cocking an eyebrow. Tyler winked yfully and made me roll my eyes. "You''re not an Alpha, Tyler. I don''t think you''d get very far," I told him with a cheeky smirk. I heard chuckles from behind me and smiled even more as Tyler''s cheeks flushed crimson red. He was a cocky male. But he was a good wolf. He trained hard back home and when he heard about this supposed transfer program, he shot his hand up, volunteering to be one of the few toe to the Takiani pack. "Hi there, newers. Wee to Takiani," the Alpha wolf that was in the trees just moments ago said. He greeted us with a warm and weing smile, gesturing for us to follow him. I held my breath as I stepped over the border and into the pack. I felt myself lose all ties that I had with people back home. I felt their voices slip out my mind and away into nothing. I felt nothing the further I walked into this new pack. I was nervous, I''ll admit that. Being sent out my pack to another was incredibly difficult toprehend. I remembered the few sleepless nights that I had days prior to this moment. I remembered how scared I felt and how angry I was that my father was sending me away for practically no reason. Well, it wasn''t for no reason. But a reason that could have been dealt with in a matter of moments. "I''m Henry... Henry Benson. I''m sure you all already knew that, though," Henry introduced himself. I nodded slowly, despite the fact that I truly didn''t know his name before he told me. My father hadn''t given me much information. He told me I was being transferred to Takiani. He said it was to try to help me learn to socialise with other wolves. But I knew why he sent me away. It was the incident that made him do it. "So, since you''re only supposed to be here for a month, you mightn''t be too involved in most of our pack business. You''ll train, do whatever you please and at the end of the time period, if those of you really want, you''ll be allowed to transition into the pack, permanently," Henry exined to us. I shot Tyler a look, and found that he was already giving me the same one. Would people in this group really think about transitioning into a new pack? With different people and a new Alpha? That sounded insane. The only pack I had ever known was Terialta. I never thought that I''d be sent away from my home. I had never even imagined leaving. It was home, a safe ce. Of course, until the incident. "Now, of course there will be a few others who will be curious about who you are. But just remain calm. No one here willy harm to you... unless you give them a good reason to," Henry chuckled deeply, a few other smallughs followed. I wasn''tughing. It wasn''t funny. I feared what other wolves would think of me. Would they hate me? Would they like me? Who would be my friend? "Will we be staying in cabins or in the pack house, Alpha?" One wolf questioned. He addressed Henry respectfully and it made my blood hum. I didn''t like it. I wasn''t used to having to do this with other Alphas. Hell, I was the daughter of the Alpha of Terialta. People were respectful to me. "We had to split most of you up. Some will be in cabins, sharing with other mentor wolves, and some will be in the pack house. Thankfully, there aren''t a lot of you," Henry replied as we walked. He lead us through the forest. Henry walked easily, following an invisible trail which seemed to enable him to walk without having to jump over bushes and other nts. Whereas, most people from our group had struggled to walk in a straight line without running into some sort of nt. The closer we got to the pack, the more I could smell. I could smell the other wolves, some strong and others lesser. I could smell food, I could smell wood being burnt and even the strawberry shampoo someone was using in the shower. My nose was overwhelmed. So many scents were hitting my nose all at once that it made me a little lightheaded. Henry seemed to notice my difort and he turned to look at me. He gave me a look that somehow told me not to be worried. It calmed me, but only a little. My beast was on edge. We wanted to run and explore every inch of this new pack, and we wanted to meet everyone and make new friends. But we also wanted to stand their with our tail between our legs. We reached a clearing in the trees and shrub and I gaped in awe. Takiani was beautiful. Most of thend was t, covered in soft soil and healthy green grass. There were patches of flowers that surrounded the area, but nothing that interfered with the main part of the pack. Please check at N/?vel(D)rama.Org. I focused on the hills and the cliffs that were covered numerous well-built cabins. They were huge, muchrger than the ones that were back home. They stood tall on the cliffs and I felt bad for whoever had to climb the cliffs to get to the top. Poor suckers. Henry lead us out into the middle of the pack where we met with a group of officials. He introduced us to the Master of Arms, a tall and muscr man named Alfie. He shook my hand with a hint of fascination in his eyes. His grip was strong and I matched his strength with my own. I think I surprised him. Henry then introduced us to Cameron, the main doctor of the pack. She was a tall, blonde female. She was littered in scars but she wore them with pride and her beast swirled when we shook hands. Next, Henry introduced us to his son. His name was Anthony, and I didn''t like him. He was cocky, too cocky. He was an attractive male, but he lowered in cuteness when he took my hand and kissed my knuckles. I pulled my hand away and showed him my teeth, the sharp fangs that made him cower back. He snuck nces at my bare neck whilst Henry spoke. I knew I would be stared at when I found out I wasing here. An unmated Alpha female wasn''t common, and everyone wanted their teeth on a neck nowadays. My neck was still bare and I hated the way I was being looked at. "Miss Grey,e with me. It''s time for you to meet your roommate," Henry said, snapping me out my thoughts. I turned to him, adjusting my satchel. I followed Henry to a smaller looking cabin towards the back of the pack. It wasn''t secluded and shut off from the others, but it wasn''t as open. Although, the cabin looked like it was in much better condition compared to the other ones. Henry knocked in the door, waited a moment and then pushed the door open. He stepped inside and I followed after him. Henry shut the door behind me and then lead me to the kitchen, which smelt delicious. "Henry, so good to see you," a voice greeted. When I looked up, a pair of dark brown eyes met mine. A man stood in the kitchen, wearing an apron with a print of a man with a stunningly good six pack on the front. I chuckled a little at it. It was funny. I took a sniff at the air around me. I realised that this man wasn''t a werewolf. He was a vampire. Most werewolf packs have at least one vampire in the pack, an agreement created by the vampires and werewolves to keep piece between the two species. "This is Alison Grey. She''s ke Grey''s daughter," Henry introduced us. The man dropped his knife on the chopping board and he walked towards me with a grin. He pulled me into a tight hug. He held onto me like a leech and I ¡ª for some reason ¡ª liked it. He was warm, weing. His hugforted me, and I felt like I could tell him anything. When the man pulled away, I smiled at him and he returned the gesture. "I''m Ezra Charles. It''s such a pleasure to finally meet you," Ezra greeted me. I nodded and smiled at him some more as Henry cleared his throat to gain our attention. "I''ll leave you two here to settle in and get to know each other. Alison, I will be here to collect you for your start in the morning. Dress in something appropriate for running, because you''ll be doing a lot of it," Henry told me. I smiled and nodded at him respectfully. The Alpha nodded his goodbye to Ezra and I before slipping out the front door and disappearing. I felt his humming blood fade as he got further and further away. "I''m making a roast. It''s the best thing you''ll ever put in your mouth, I promise," Ezra suddenly said. He grabbed my arm and pulled me across the room and pushed me down into a chair at the dining table. Ezra quickly started to put down dishes of food, which made my mouth water and my belly rumble. My beast licked her lips hungrily as we eyed the roast beef that was set down in front of us. We couldn''t wait to eat. We had ran a long way that day. It was nonstop, except for one stop where one wolf begged for a moment to take a drink from the steam we ran along. It took not even five minutes before we were off again. "Princess, what do you like to drink? You''re of age, yes?" Ezra called to me. I swivelled around in my seat to face him. He was standing by the refrigerator, tapping his finger against his chin quizzically. The first thing I thought about was the nickname. Princess? Why princess? The next thing that crosses my mind was how thirsty I was. I really needed a drink. "You have beer?" I asked him. His features lit up like a damn Christmas tree and he reached into the refrigerator and grabbed two beers for the both of us. Ezra walked over to the table and sat back down. He sipped on his beer as he pushed mine towards me. I nodded at him and took it, sipping from it slowly. "I''m twenty-four, by the way," I informed him, thinking he might have liked to know. He nodded at me, seeming amused and intrigued. "Three hundred and twelve," Ezra nodded his head at me with a cheeky grin that made me gasp. Ezra was obviously a vampire, and vampires are immortal, but I had never met one that old before. The oldest I had met before him was only one hundred and sixty four years old. "Eat up, princess. You need to fuel up for the big day tomorrow," Ezra told me, motioning towards all the food. I nodded at him and reached forwards. I began to scoop piles of food onto my te, stacking up massively, which made Ezraugh. I started eating and then looked at Ezra who was slowly eating his food. He looked up from his te and at me, catching me looking. "Why ''princess''?" I asked him curiously. Ezra smiled and shrugged at me. He shoved a roasted potato into his mouth and chewed. "Because you look like a princess, and your wolf radiates ''important''. Princesses are important," Ezra exined, and I couldn''t help but smile at him. Right from the beginning, I knew I was going to like him. After dinner, Ezra showed me around the cabin. It was nothing fancy, it was quite dull, actually. There was a living room with two couches and a television. There were two bedrooms, each quite boring and nd. But I didn''t expect the bedrooms to be fancy. I figured I wouldn''t be spending a lot of time in my bedroom. Although, the bathroom must''ve been one of the biggest rooms in the house. There was arge two person sink, and a massive mirror that stretched out. There was an average white toilet, arge shower and even a deep bathtub. The floors were gleaming white tiles and the walls were all creamy. It was obviously the most important room in the house and I loved it. I took a hot shower, standing under the water, letting the water wash away all the sweat and dirt on my body. I washed my hair with the new rose scented shampoo that Ezra had in there and then I jumped out the shower and walked down the hallway and into my room. As I thought about it, I realised that Ezra did in fact have a mark on his neck. He had a mate. That must be who the rose scented shampoo belonged to. Where was she? My room wasn''t small, but it wasn''t big either. There was a window across from the door that was locked. The key sat on the window sill. There was a single sized bed pushed into the corner of the room, made neatly with purple bed covers. There was a tall chest of drawers in which Ezra had said all my clothes would be in. I hadn''t brought any clothes with me from Terialta. I wasn''t told to. But I was assured that there would be a lot of clothes here for me to change into. I slipped on a pair of sweatpants and a loose fitting shirt. I walked over to my new bed slowly and copsed onto it. I didn''t mean to fall asleep, but as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light. Chapter 2 - The First Day Chapter 2 - The First Day I woke early the next morning. I got up quickly, much too excited to start my first day of training in Takiani. I changed into a pair of ck workout tights that I found and then a navy blue tank top. I managed to find a pair of sneakers and I slipped them on also. They fit just perfectly, somehow. When I waltzed out to the kitchen, Ezra was already awake. The smell of freshly made coffee wafted through my nose and I bit back a moan and my wolf brightened up at the smell of caffeine. "Morning, princess. Did you sleep well?" Ezra asked me as I leant against the counter. I stared at him carefully for a moment, wondering if I had kicked and cried during the night. The nightmares started after the incident, and they came every night. Sometimes they were really bad, other times, they were fine. I hadn''t woken during the night so I assumed they mustn''t have been that bad this time. Which was a relief. "I guess so. It feels strange to not be home in my own bed," I told Ezra. He smiled and nodded at me, sipping on his coffee. "Understandable. Just let me know if I can do anything that''ll make your stay morefortable," Ezra said, warmly smiling at me. My beast calmed, the anxiety and overwhelming feelings dying down for just a moment. Then, there was a knock on the front door. I smelt him almost instantly. Henry was here. I waved goodbye to Ezra and then rushed out the cabin. I met Henry on the grass out the front of my cabin. The sun was only just starting to rise and it made thend before me look even more beautiful. Henry stood on the grass, surrounded by two other wolves ¡ª Alfie who I had met the day before and another wolf that I hadn''t met yet. "Morning, Alison. I''m d that you''re up early for the run. Usually newers struggle to get out of bed this early," Henry greeted me. I smiled and awkwardly shrugged at him. I was an early bird, always had been. Back home, I was often always the first person in the whole pack to wake. As soon as I was awake, I''d usually go for a run. I took the track behind the pack house that lead me out the arge flower meadow, in which I wouldy down and soak up the sun. "What can I say? I''m an early bird," I smiled at him. Henry turned to Alfie and the other male wolf standing beside him. This male was strong, but not as strong as I was. I knew he wasn''t an Alpha, the scent didn''t roll off him. But he was still strong. His body was all muscle, and he was tall. The male offered me a smile, to which I slowly returned. Alfie cleated his throat and motioned to the male. "Alison, this is my son, Kade... and Kade, this is Alison Grey, from Terialta," Alfie made introductions quickly. Kade held his hand out to me for a handshake, and I hesitantly grabbed him hand and I shook it. Kade smiled at me, and I didn''t feel threatened. This male was not after our neck. But that was only because he had a mark on his own neck. He had a mate, he wasn''t interested in me. Plus he wasn''t cocky, yet. My beast rumbled in approval as we pulled our hand away. "Alfie and Kade will be apanying us on our run this morning," Henry told me. I nodded quickly as Henry motioned behind me. I spun around, facing a trail embedded in the dirt. I figured that it must''ve been a trail often used. It looked worn out. But at least I knew there was a trail next to the house. "You think you can keep up?" Alfie teased me. I raised my eyebrows at him and my beast yipped at the challenge. She wanted to show everyone that we were strong. We weren''t a weak wolf and everyone needed to know that. "Try me," I retorted with a small smile. Alfie chuckled a little as Henry lead the run. I followed behind him, jogging at first. It was peaceful. Everything in the forest was only just waking up. The morning dew was melting off the nts and the wonderful smell of flowers slowly invaded my nose. I had to pick up the pace when Henry sped up. I ran alongside him for what felt like forever before he let out a loud rumble that seemed to shake the trees around us. He let his beast push forward and he leapt into the air, his wolfing forwardpletely. His four paws hit the ground and he kept running. He got faster and I took that as the cue to shift also. I heard and felt the cracking of my bones before Inded on the ground on four paws. My wolf hummed in approval at the fact that we were getting to shake out our fur again. She pushed forwards, keeping up with the Alpha male that ran in front of us. Henry''s wolf was a grey wolf. His fur was thin and patchy, parts of his fur missing from the battles that he had fought in his lifetime. His wolf was huge, and he easily was bigger than mine. Although, he was kind of scrawny for an Alpha. He looked skinny, almost as if his wolf was hungry. But I tore my eyes away from him as I felt a nip at my feet. I look back, earning a sheepish grin from Kade who was now running alongside me. This male was yful. My wolf liked him. He nipped at our feet every time we looked away to pay attention to something else. He stopped when his father gave him a warning growl after he almost tripped me over. Kade kept up to me. He looked like he was being challenged, and I liked it. I liked challenging other wolves. It made them stronger and it made me a better leader. But when we reached the rocky hills, I was the challenged one. My wolf pushed hard, keeping up to Henry''s wolf as we ran. The hill was indeed challenging and my wolf liked it. She liked that we were already being pushed within our first day of being in Takiani. When we came back to the pack, there were people buzzing all around the area. Most people were in their skin, but there was some wolves sparring with each other in their fur. It was fascinating to see how this pack worked inparison to mine. Henry shifted back into his skin and I avoided my eyes from his naked body as he reached into the trunk of a tree and pulled out clothes. He pulled on a pair of shorts and then tossed clothes to the two males and handed me a shirt. I took it and rushed behind a bush to shift back and pull on the shirt. I wasn''tfortable with anyone seeing me naked. I knew that most wolves didn''t even care, but I did. I cared too much. I slipped the oversized shirt over my head and then came out the bushes. I walked hesitantly over to where Henry was now standing with a group of other wolves. I noticed that Kade was walking away to the sparring rings. Alfie approached me as Henry was rushed away. I assumed that he had Alpha business to attend to. I wasn''t bothered by his absence. There was something about him that put my beast on edge. Maybe I wasn''t used to being around another Alpha. "You kept up well on that run, Alison. Quite impressive. Newbies usually struggle on those hills," Alfie told me. I beamed at him. My beast swirled with pride. We were d that were were getting the recognition we deserved. "There are some trails back home with a few hills. They were somewhat familiar," I told Alfie, who smiled and nodded at me. He chuckled a little and he crossed his arms. "I think my son enjoyed youing. He always says that I force him to be serious all the time. It was good to see him be a little yful," Alfie added. He cocked his head in the direction of the sparring rings, motioning for me to follow him. Alfie began to lead me in the direction that Kade had walked off in. As we walked, I realised that I really did like Alfie. He was a good wolf and I could tell just by the way he spoke. My beast feltforted by him and I liked the feeling. It didn''t like being intimidated by other males. "So, the training program for you is quite simple. You''re not pack, so you won''t train with the other pack wolves. You''ll mostly train with Kade, and the other kids from your pack," Alfie exined to me briefly. I nodded at him. I understood that. I knew that if I wanted to spar with anyone from this pack, I would have to join the pack itself. It was the rules and I wasn''t about to try argue with them. "But, currently, Henry''s Beta is out on business. He took a few pack members with him and there''s two that you''ll definitely spar with when they return. They''re just a couple of cocky males, I''m sure you''ll be fine with them," Alfie told me, making me feel a little confident. I wasn''t sure if Alfie was telling me that I would show up fine with the boys because he believed it. I knew that I was a strong wolf, and I knew that my blood hummed just like any other wolf. Well, I thought it did. But I also knew that I wasn''t as strong as I could be. There had been so many setbacks in my life that my training was barely an option anymore. I was too caught up in other things to focus on my training. But maybe being with Takiani for a month would help fix that? "Okay, so over here are obviously all your sparring rings. We are really big on sparring here. Majority of the days you train, you''ll spar with someone," Alfie exined to me. I nodded at him, knowingly smiling. I wondered who I would spar with first. No one that came from my pack was an Alpha, and I was sure that none of them would want to spar with me. An Alpha against an omega was unfair. "I want to see what you''ve got first. I''ll call Kade over here," Alfie told me quickly. I nodded anxiously at him and my blood buzzed at the thought of my first spar only happening in a few moments. I stepped into the ring that Alfie stopped in front of and watched as Kade appeared. He grinned at Alfie and I. He ran a hand through his brown hair and stepped into the ring. I gulped nervously. I hadn''t sparred with anyone in a while. I wondered how good I''d be. Would Kade kick my ass or would he be an easy challenge? I knew that I wouldn''t win this fight. I hadn''t been keeping up with my training back home and I knew that beating a wolf who trained every day would be hard. "No ws or fangs until I say," Alfie said from outside the ring. Kade and I both nodded and we began to circle each other. I stalked around the ring, eyeing Kade. I was nervous, but I knew that I had to push that aside. I had to show Alfie and Kade that I was more than a girl from Terialta. I had to show them that I was a damn Alpha female. This is from N?velDrama.Org. Kade lunged for me. He swung a fist at my face, and I ducked quickly. He missed me, and then quickly swung again. This time, he nailed me in the kidney. I found myself stumbling back. He was strong. Kade was definitely strong. I retaliated fast. I sent my elbow into his stomach and then nailed him hard in the jaw. But Kade wasn''t fazed. He socked me in the sternum so hard that it almost took my breath away. My chest ached painfully. I was too busy worrying about my throbbing sternum that I didn''t duck in time to avoid a hard blow to the cheek by Kade''s fist. I tasted blood almost immediately. I growled at Kade and he justughed. I didn''t like his cockiness so I lunged for him. I hit him in the abdomen with my elbow and then uppercut him in the chin. Kade looked shocked by my blows on him but he didn''t let it distract him. He growled back at me, spitting blood. I had made him bleed. Good. My wolf yipped in approval as we heard Alfie speak from the sidelines. "Shift." Kade was quicker than I was. He tore into his beast and lunged at me instantly. I only just managed to get out the way and I let my beaste forwards and out her little shell. Kade mmed into me before I had a chance to move out the way. He took us to the ground and we yelped as his heavy weight pressed down on us. We threw him off and we growled at him, a warning to not do that again. My beast and I did not like being sat on. We weren''t a damn couch. Kade snarled at us. I leaped at him. I jumped onto his back and wed hard. He just easily threw me off. Kade jumped on me before I could get up. He wed across my belly and then my back. I wanted to stop the fight, my wounds bleeding. But I remembered that I needed to like the blood. I need to like letting the wounds bleed. It showed other wolves that I didn''t care how injured I was. I was a fighter and I wasn''t going down so easily. I snapped at Kade. I bit into his paw and I bit hard. Before I could feel my teeth touch the bone, he mmed me into the dirt, my mouthing away from him. Kade pinned me down. He bit my neck, mping down hard. I sighed, realising that I had lost. I thrust my neck towards him as best as I could and he got the message and stepped away from me. I felt my blood ooze and I tried hard to ignore it. Kade shifted back into his skin. Yet again, I avoided my eyes as he was handed a pair of shorts. Then, he hold out a shirt to me with a small. I took it in my mouth and bounded away to change. When I shifted back, I slipped the shirt over my head and sighed as my blood and sweat made the shirt stick to my skin. But I ignored it as I stepped out from the bush and walked over to where Kade and Alfie are still standing. "You did good," Kade told me with a kind smile before he walked away to treat his injures. I couldn''t help but grin in satisfaction. I had done good. Chapter 3 - Recovery and Beer Chapter 3 - Recovery and Beer Ezra sat me down at the dining table. I lifted my shirt up just enough so that he could see my wounds. He chuckled a little and shook his head. "Alfie told me you did well today," Ezra told me as he opened the box of first aid. I nodded at him and yawned. I was exhausted and I needed food. The first day of training was hard, but I knew it was going to get harder. I had to toughen up. "He made me spar with Kade. He was a good fighter. He bested me," I sighed as I felt a cotton pad touch my wounds. Ezra cleaned away the blood that was still sleeping from the gashes. "Kade is the son of the Master of Arms. He has to be a good fighter," Ezraughed at me. I smiled and rolled my eyes, sipping on my beer. Ezra continued to pat at the blood with the cotton pad, shifting around the first aid box. "Don''t worry about it, princess. Alfie told me that you had a lot of work to be done. These next four weeks are going to be absolute hell for you," Ezraughed at me. I smiled but I nodded knowingly anyway. I knew that I had work to do. If I wanted to return to Terialta stronger and more powerful, I had to work hard. I was sure that Alfie would be great help to me. "This is going to sting," Ezra warned me as he dabbed antiseptic on a cotton bud. He began to dab it gently on my gashes. I winced but I held still and I let him help me. Ezra worked quietly until he started to put on the bandages. I could tell he was curious. I could practically smell it on him. "So, howe you came here?" Ezra asked me. I felt my entire body tense. Shit.C0pyright ? 2024 N?v)(elDrama.Org. I knew that this question woulde. But I never thought about having to answer it. I hadn''t even come up with a fake answer. Ezra had just put me on the spot. I didn''t know how to respond. I couldn''t really tell him what happened. I could barely tell my father, I definitely struggled to tell my brothers. "Wanted a change. I like exploring," I replied quickly. I hated lying to Ezra. I hated lying in general, but I couldn''t be honest. Not yet. "Fair enough... I think you''re all done now," Ezra said quickly. He pulled away from me and I pulled down my shirt. I thanked Ezra for helping and watched him put the bloody bandages and cotton buds into the trash can. "By the way, we''re having guests for dinner tonight. There are some girls here who really wanted to meet you," Ezra exined to me as he walked over to the refrigerator. He began to pull out ingredients for what I assumed was dinner. My beast yipped a little at the thought of having people around. She was excited that we being given such an easy opportunity to make friends whilst we were in Takiani. "Okay. Sounds fun," I said in reply. Ezra smiled and nodded at me. I stood quickly and walked into the kitchen. "Let me help. I like to think I''m a great cook." Ezraughed at me. He held a hand to his chest as he heaved withughter before suddenly stopping and going dead serious. "I''m the best cook alive. You could never best me," Ezra told me a little darkly. I widened my eyes at him and then narrow my eyebrows at him. "No way! I''m the best cook ever! Everyone loves my food," I retorted. Ezra showed me his fangs and I showed him mine. We stared at each other intensely for a few moments before we put our fangs away. Then, we both burst outughing. Iughed so hard that it made my stomach hurt and tears form in my eyes. Ezra''s whole body shook withughter. It felt good tough. Terialta was a good pack but it was terribly boring. No one there liked to have fun and I always found myself getting up to things I wasn''t allowed to do. Let''s just say that my brothers had always been a very bad influence on me. "Okay. You need to chop the onions," Ezra finally said. He slid a chopping board and a knife in my direction, along with the onions. "What are we making?" I mused. Ezra happily grinned. "Spaghetti and meatballs. Get chopping girl, or we''ll have to deal with a bunch of hungry werewolves," Ezra yfully scolded me. I rolled my eyes at him. Ezra and I worked together in the kitchen well. He told me stories about the time when he used to train and how he was terrible at fighting when he first started. I enjoyed listening to him speak. Ezra was wonderful. His mind was so open and free. He looked and acted like he didn''t have a care in the world, and it made me feel peaceful. Being around someone like that was good for myself and my beast. When the doorbell rang, Ezra almost squealed. I rolled my eyes at him as he ran out the kitchen and towards the front door. I picked up a dry dish cloth and wiped my hands with it. I assumed I would be either hugging people are giving out handshakes. "Ezra! You look so good! Have you been working out?" I heard a voice giggle from the front door. I then heard Ezra''s scoff. "Stop making fun of my apron. Alison likes it," Ezra retorted. I heard more giggles and then held my breath as I heard footsteps. Ezra appeared in the kitchen followed momentster with two girls hot on his tail. They both looked right at me and grinned. They came forwards at the same time. The blonde one hugged me first. She rubbed her cheek with mine and then pulled away. My beast purred. She liked this female already. The other girl came forwards and did the same. My wolf continue to purr. She really liked these females. "I''m L, and that''s Brayleigh," the blonde girl told me. I smiled at them both, happy to have met them. "Everyone calls me Bray. It''s easier," Brayleigh added right after. I nodded at her. "Well, I''m Alison. But a lot of people just call me Ali." L and Brayleigh both looked like they were about to burst with excitement and it made me happy. I was d to finally meet some new people. L was stunning. She had dark blonde hair, which was long and stopped in the middle of her back. She wasn''t tall, but she was slim. She has curvy hips and masculine arms and legs. She had bright blue eyes and wonderful skin. She was truly gorgeous. Brayleigh was equally as stunning. She had short ck hair which ran to her shoulder des. She had caramel brown eyes, which seemed to swirl in the lighting. She was tall, taller than both L and I. But not taller than Ezra. Brayleigh wasn''t as masculine as L was, but she still had muscle. "Dinner is ready, my loves. Sit down at the table," Ezra called to us. I felt my belly grumble hungrily and I quickly rushed to the table. L and Brayleigh sat down also. "So, I heard that you sparred with Kade today," Brayleigh excitedly said. I nodded at her, thinking about the gashes on my back and belly. I would have to get him back for that eventually. "Yeah. He won, but I got a few good scratches in," I told her with a nod. Brayleighughed and pulled her hand through her hair as Ezra ced a te in front of her. "Kade is my mate. Met him six months ago on a hunt," Brayleigh exined, pulling down her hoodie. She showed me the mark on her neck, the shape of a crescent moon. It was pretty. I longed for one on my neck. My wolf and I dreamed about it often. We dreamed that our mate would be strong, incredibly strong and loving. We knew that he was out there somewhere, but it sucked waiting so many years and showing up with nothing. "That''s awesome," I said honestly. Brayleigh nodded at me and Ezra sat down after cing bowls in front of L and I. "One of my brothers has a mate. She''s wonderful," L piped up as she picked up her fork. "How many you got?" I questioned L. I had four brothers back home. All of them were older than me and they all were such strong Alpha wolves. I missed them dearly. "Three. Eldest is twenty-five and the other two are twins, but they''re only twenty-three," L replied before chewing on a meatball. I sighed for her. Having one brother was work. But three or four was rough. "I have four. They''re all pains in my damn ass," I groaned at the girls. Everyone at the tableughed and Ezra chuckled some more once we stopped. "My mate has four sisters. Their house at Christmas time is crazy," Ezra mused to us. Us three girls hooted inughter. Iughed until my stomach hurt. Then, my wolf huffed at me. She was hungry and we''d barely touched our food. I rolled my eyes at her and picked up my fork and started to eat. "It''s paradise right now, right? You''re away from your brothers, and mine are away on business for a few more weeks. Mhm... pure bliss," L hummed delightfully. I giggled and nodded at her as I took notice of her blood. Her blood was strong, humming and buzzing inside her veins. She was an Alpha female. I just knew it. "I''m an only child. My mother, Cameron, the pack doctor, didn''t want a lot of children and neither did my father. They thought one child was plenty," Brayleigh exined to us. "Must be fun, not being tortured by any siblings every day," Ezra said darkly, but then chuckled a little. I assumed that he had siblings of his own. "It''s boring, actually. Who the hell am I supposed to bully us I don''t have any brothers or sisters?" Brayleigh questioned with loud giggles. L and Iughed too. I''ve always known that there would be a day where I wouldugh until I cry. Id finallye across that day, and it was wonderful. L and Iughed so hard that she began to cry and Iughed until I was holding my pained stomach. Ezraughed too, his eyes twinkling with joy. Brayleigh looked bitter as weughed at her words. Once theughter stopped, Brayleigh sighed and shrugs at us. "Kade has siblings. That''s my only option here." We all choked back ourughter and continued eating to try and stop ourselves from getting out of control. L and Brayleigh drank a whole bottle of wine and Ezra and I had at least three beers each. The whole night, none of us could stopughing. Singlehandedly, it was the best day of my entire life. It felt good tough after all the pain and suffering that I had been through in the past few months. Butter that night, in my sleep, the nightmares came. Ezra woke me with worried eyes. He leant over me with zed eyes, hushing me gently as he rubbed my shoulder in an attempt tofort me. He helped me to sit up and I cried into his chest. My body rocked violently in his arms, but Ezra didn''t seem to care. He held me close tightly wrapped in his arms. He let me cry, and he stroked my hair gently until I stopped sobbing. Those damn nightmares. I hated them. They were cruel. I saw terrible things each time I had them. My mind was cruel to me. It hurt me and it scared me. "Come on, Ali girl. You have to go back to sleep now," Ezra whispered to me softly. I nodded and sniffled. Heid me down again and he sat with me, stroking my hair until I drifted off back to sleep. Chapter 4 - Alpha Strength Chapter 4 - Alpha Strength "Morning, princess," Ezra greeted as I walked into the kitchen. I looked up at him and smiled as I yawned. I took his coffee mug from his hands and quickly sipped from the warm liquid. I handed his mug to him and pulled my hair behind my ears. "Morning," I mumbled. My body was still sore from the day before. The gashes hadn''tpletely healed yet but they were fading quickly. I was happy that they were healing so fast. "You going for a run this morning?" Ezra asked me, sipping on his coffee. I nodded at him and stretched. My back cracked and I smiled. Ezra didn''t asked about what happened the night before and I was d. I didn''t need him trying to pry his way into my personal life. I wasn''t ready to share that part of myself with anyone. I didn''t think I ever would be. When the knock on the door came, I bounded towards it. I called goodbye to Ezra. I heard his light chuckles as I reached the door and pulled it open. I expected to see Kade and Alfie. Instead, I saw L and Brayleigh. Alfie and Kade weren''t even out in the yard. "Hi!" I greeted the two girls. They were both dressed in workout gear and I quickly guessed that they were going to be running with me. "Alfie said we could run with you this morning. Kade is being a pussy about his baby scratches and didn''t want toe out," Brayleigh told me quickly. I giggled and rolled my eyes as I stepped out the house and closed the door. The girls took me on a different trail. They made me run down one that was closer to the pack infirmary. It was a narrow trail that only got more narrow as we ran. The girls shifted into their wolves first. I followed them straight after and caught up to them quickly. L was a blonde wolf, tall and strong. She was bigger than I was, and even bigger than Brayleigh. Brayleigh''s wolf was an ashy grey colour. Her wolf had long legs and a long body, but she wasn''t tall. It was because she wasn''t an Alpha. Alpha wolves were always bigger than the average wolf. It wasmon sense. The most powerful were always the biggest. As we ran, L challenged me. She pushed hard and Brayleigh harder. I kept up with L who seemed to be racing. But it was hard. She was quick, but I seemed to be quicker. I found myself running ahead of L soon enough and I could feel her excitement when I passed her. I felt a pushing at my mind. It was Brayleigh and L trying to link with me. They would be able to do this only whilst I was staying in Takiani. I let them in, weing my friends into my mind. "You''re so fast! How do you do that?" Brayleigh eximed loudly. I chuckled and slowed, letting them catch up again. I wasn''t an expert on the forest and I didn''t want to get lost. "I use my legs, and I run, Bray," I replied cockily. Brayleigh nipped at my back feet in response and L''s wolf tossed her head to the side. "There''s a stream up here that we can drink from. To the right," L told us both quickly. I looked back to where I was going before I tripped and embarrassed myself. I saw a fork in the path. The three of us went right. We ran fast until we saw the stream ahead and then we slowed. Panting, we each walked up to the stream and we drank greedily. "That was definitely the best run I''ve had in a while. Usually Ie by myself, since Brayleigh is too lazy to get out of bed normally," L said, scolding Brayleigh in the process. I chuckled at this. "I go for a run every morning. I like to start my day with a clear head," I told them both. I sat, resting whilst the two girls sniffed around. "I''m going to be a doctor like my Mum. I can''t be bothered going for runs," Brayleigh groaned loudly. L and I bothughed at her before we decided it was time we headed back. We ran all the way back to the pack, all racing each other. L and Brayleigh pushed me hard. They nipped at my feet every time I slowed or got distracted by my surroundings. I arrived back at the pack first, L and Brayleigh following shortly afterwards. The three of us collected clothes and then hid behind bushes and shifted back. We walked out the bushesughing as we walked over to the sparring rings where people were training. I spot Kade standing with a few other males and then Alfie not too far away, speaking with another adult. The girl and I approach them slowly, Brayleigh growing giddy at the sight of her mate. "Morning, Alison. Sorry I couldn''t make it for the run this morning. I have so much on my te with eventsing up," Alfie greeted me as I walked up to him with the girls. I shrugged and smiled at him. I didn''t mind that he didn''t run with my today. I liked running with the girls. They really made it fun and enjoyable. "You should''ve been there! She''s a freaking lightning bolt!" L imed, nudging my arm. I rolled my eyes at her as Alfie widened his eyes at me. "Oh really?" He questioned me. I nodded at him and nced sideways at Brayleigh who nodded too. Alfie looked surprised. Maybe he didn''t take notice of how fast I was running the day before. Besides, we weren''t really running fast anyway. "Hmm, interesting. You think you could use that speed today in the rings? I''m getting you to spar with one of your pack," Alfie raised an eyebrow at me as he crossed his arms. I shrugged and nodded at him. I have to admit, I was unsure. I didn''t want to spar with someone from my pack and lose. I was their Alpha''s daughter. It would be embarrassing if I got my butt kicked. "I can''t wait for Leon and Lucas to spar with you. They need toe back sooner!" L groaned loudly. Alfie justughed and he yfully rolled his eyes at the young Alpha female in front of him. "You''d drool over her brothers," Brayleigh said to me through a private link that only her and I could hear. I giggled inwardly and subtly nudged Brayleigh''s arm. "Liam said they''d be back in a few weeks. They might get back just in time to meet Alison, or they might be toote," Alfie exined, looking at the clipboard he held. He intensely looked over the paper for a moment before he sighed. He looked tired, stressed. He''d get pretty worked up with all the kids to train. "I think I might ask him toe back early. I''m tired of having to cook myself dinner every night," L yfully groaned. Alfie shook his head at her as he motioned for me to follow him. "I''ll see you bothter," I said to the girls as I walked away. They both grinned and nodded at me before turning away themselves. I caught up to Alfie quickly and he talked as we walked. "You don''t know how to use that Alpha strength of yours," Alfie bluntly told me. He tucked his clipboard underneath his arm and nced down at me. I frowned. What did that mean? I''m an Alpha. Of course I knew how to use my strength. "Your blood hums, but it''s soft. Your blood should be loud. You should be so powerful that people get choked up when they walk into the same room as you. Your father... he''s a very strong wolf. You should be just like him. You should try to be better," Alfie exined to me. I frowned at him and cocked my head. I didn''t understand. How could I not be using my Alpha strength? What strength would I be using then? "Think about Henry. You know where he is from a mile away. His blood is strong and it''s loud. Energy and heat rolls of him like a freaking waterfall. You should be the same. So why aren''t you?" Alfie stopped. He turned to face me. He stared at me with a curious eye. "I don''t understand," I said honestly. There wasn''t any point in trying to hide it from Alfie. If I understood, I wouldn''t be having this conversation with him in the first ce. "The Alpha inside you is weak. Your wolf is weak, Alison," Alfie finally concluded. I frowned at him. My wolf rumbled with anger. She was pissed. My beast had been through a lot. We had both been to hell and back numerous times. She wasn''t weak. I wasn''t weak. I was an Alpha. "I know you don''t want to hear it, but it''s the truth, Alison. If we''re going to work together, we have to be honest with each other. So this is me being honest. Your beast is weak and you need to figure out why so you can change it. "I know you have great potential, Alison. I felt it when I first met you and I felt it just before when you came back from your run. You just have to figure out how to unleash your beast," Alfie exined to me. He stared at me, waiting for me to speak. But I said nothing. I was pissed. I wanted to hit him. I was angry that he called me out. But I knew he was right. He was being honest with me. He was trying to help me. I sighed heavily and nodded at Alfie. I watched him smile before he looked up. He pointed behind me and I turned around. Tyler was standing in the middle of the ring behind me. "Use your beast. She''s there for you. Let her energy fuel you," Alfie said before pushing me into the ring. Tyler smirked at me and cracked his knuckles. He was already too cocky. I knew better than anyone that being cocky will get you hurt. I had had my ass in the dirt enough times to know. Tyler was a weaker wolf than I was. But if I was really supposedly weak like Alfie said, then he could beat me. I couldn''t let that happen. Tyler and I stalked each other in the ring. He narrowed his eyes at me, ready to attack. But I lunged at him first. I nailed him hard in the cor bone and then in the hip. He stumbled to the side but stopped himself from falling. I sucked in a deep breath and looked to Alfie. He was nodding at me. Tyler swung at me. I was toote to dodge. He hit me in the jaw and then tried to tackle me to the dirt. But I''d already jumped out the way. I kicked him down, letting him fall t onto the dirt. He growled lowly and I growled back. This male clearly underestimated us. Tyler got up and I gave him time to do so. He growled at me again and readied myself to seriously hurt him. Tyler threw a fake, and I fell for it. Tyler''s fist punched me hard in the nose. I groaned as it began to ache. I felt it begin to bleed and I wiped the blood with the back of my hand. I didn''t care about the blood anymore. I cared about hurting this male so bad that he cried for his mother. I couldn''t let him embarrass me and best me. What kind of Alpha would I be if some cocky male beat me? I feel a pushing sensation in my mind. I let the voice in and realise that it''s Alfie. "Your blood isn''t humming. You''re an average wolf right now. You''re not an Alpha," Alfie said bluntly. I knew he was trying to get me angry so that I''d step up. But it didn''t happen. I punched Tyler in the jaw. Then, I mmed my elbow into his sternum. He doubled over in pain, groaning and wheezing. I huffed angrily, my beast wanting a piece of this male''s hide. We wanted to hurt him. But I couldn''t. I felt a pull over me that told me that I couldn''t hurt my pack member this way. It didn''t feel right. My beast and I both knew that he was a lesser wolf. We couldn''t take advantage of that, even if I was apparently weak. "I can''t," I told Alfie. He raised his eyebrows at me. "He''s not an Alpha. I feel like I''m taking advantage of him." Alfie sighed, but he nodded. I turned and walked out the ring. Alfie motioned for me to walk with him, so I did. I walked alongside him slowly, crossing my arms tiredly. "Listen, kiddo, I know about what happened to your mother all those years. I''m sorry about it too. It never should have happened. But it did. I know that you''ve been beating yourself up about it ever since. I spoke with one of your brothers before you came here. He called me and told me," Alfie told me. I bit my bottom lip as I walked along. I hated talking about my mother. Nothing good ever came out of it. It just brought back memories that I didn''t want to see. Feelings that I didn''t want to feel. "Your brother said that you became different after her passing. Which I get. I totally understand, Alison. But it''s not okay when it gets to this point. You''re an Alpha. People will run you down if you don''t start acting like one. Do you think your mother would be proud of you right now, Alison?" Alfie walked with his hands behind his back. He didn''t look at me, he looked straight ahead. I winced at his words. They hurt. They hurt bad. I didn''t want to answer him, and I didn''t want him to be right. But he was. He was right in so many ways. "She wouldn''t be proud of me," I told him bitterly. I didn''t know which bother told Alfie about my mother, but when I found out which one it was, I was going to kill him! "You''re done for today. But just go back to your cabin and think. Okay? You have to change, because if you don''t, you''re not going anywhere far, Alison." This content is ? N?velDrama.Org. I didn''t say anything else. I turned and walked straight back to my cabin. I walked so fast that I almost tripped over my own feet several times. When I got back into the cabin, I shut the door and rushed straight to my room where I crawled into bed and cried. Chapter 5 - A New Day Chapter 5 - A New Day Ezra stared at me as I sat with my head in my hands at the dinner table. He sipped slowly on his coffee and didn''t take his eyes off of me. My mind whirled with so many different thoughts. Memories of my mother shed through my mind like a slideshow. I felt the pain of losing her all over again. It''d been almost ten years, and I still wasn''t over it. I couldn''t help but miss her. I couldn''t help but be bitter about her death. Alfie was right. It shouldn''t have happened. But it did. My mind switched to my beast. She whined sadly in the back of my mind. She paced back and forward, her head down and her whines low and painful to listen to. She was upset. So damn upset. She knew what Alfie said was true. She knew it and so did I. Our fire was gone. Every wolf had a fire. Whether it was hot or not was the important part. I knew what Alfie meant when he spoke about my father. When anyone walked into a room with my father in it, they knew who was in control. Whenever I was in a room with him, I always felt the energy of his wolf. I felt his blood hum. It was like a nonstop buzz. When I met Henry, I remembered feeling his blood hum. It was strong, almost knocked the breath out of me. His beast was the one in charge and everyone knew it. That''s why he was an Alpha. Even L''s blood hummed. On our runs, she was always buzzing with such hot electricity that I was jealous. I wished I could hum like that. I wished I burned hot like all the other wolves. Why was I cold? Where the hell was my damn fire? Where was my electricity and my hum? "Ali girl, you know that Alfie is going to help you get the spark back. He''s not going to stop until he turns you into a strong Alpha," Ezra told me, snapping me out my thoughts. I looked up at him. "Alfie is going to help you the best he can until you''re back to where you''re supposed to be. He likes you. He thinks you have potential to be very powerful. I do too, girl. You''re going to leave Takiani with more power than you''ve ever felt," Ezra said softly. His voice calmed me, but only a little. My beast was angry and upset. She was angry that her and I let this happen. How could we let ourselves get to the point where we were barely an Alpha? How did no one ever see it and try to help? My beast was upset because we lost yet another important thing to us. We had our Alpha position, and we probably didn''t even have that anymore. We were weak. We were tired and we were not a real Alpha. "This is all so dumb," I hissed out. My wolf yelped in agreement. She hated it. "You''re strong, princess. You''ll get your fire back and you''ll be so strong that people will cower in your presence," Ezra assured me. I smiled warmly at him. My hair fell in front of my face as I looked down at the table. I smelt the meat being cooked in someone else''s cabin and my mouth watered. My tummy grumbled loudly and I rolled my eyes at it. I ate four sandwiches minutes before. There was a knock at the front door. I got a strong whiff ofvender and another of vani. L and Brayleigh. "It''s us. Can wee in?" Brayleigh called to me over the link. I almost sighed in relief that they were visiting. My wolf trusted them a lot already, despite only knowing them for such a short amount of time. We had a connection with them. "Door is open," I called back. I heard the front door open and then clicking of shoes on the floor. I nced up as L and Brayleigh walked into the room. They both shot me sad looks. L got to me first. She rubbed her cheek against mine and I felt myself calm slightly. My beast purred, happy that the females were there to help. "How are you feeling?" Brayleigh asked as she brushed her cheek against mine. I felt a short spurge of calmness yet again but it quickly disappeared. "Fine. Just a little upset. It''s nothing major," I replied. I didn''t know if I meant my words or not. I knew that I wasn''t necessarily okay, but I also knew that I wasn''t an emotional wreck. "Ali... we could feel it the moment we met you. We knew something was wrong. But we had no idea about what had happened to you..." L told me as she sat down. Brayleigh nodded in agreement. I looked at L for a moment. I felt the power roll off her and felt her veins hum. She was so strong. I didn''t understand why I was so different. "We felt some power on our run today. We kept pushing you and it helped get it out of you," Brayleigh exined to me. I nodded at her knowingly. Alfie said that he felt it when I got back from my run. My wolf yipped. If my blood could definitely hum like it did on the run, then that meant there was a chance that I could get my hum back. I could still be powerful and I could still have a chance. L reached out to me. There was a slight pull between the two of us, and I didn''t know what it was. But she caressed my mind, and it made me feel better. "You''re going to get it back, Ali. We won''t let you leave without your fire," L assured me. Ezra and Brayleigh both nodded in agreement. I smiled at the three of them before Ezra stood. "I''ll get started on dinner. It''s a special asion. I''m thinking pancakes?" Ezra suggested to the three of us, with a goofy grin. I smiled widely at him and nodded eagerly. Pancakes always made things better. Undoubtedly. "Tell us about Terialta," Brayleigh requested as I turned back around. L nodded eagerly in agreement. The two girls sat forwards in their seats, looking intrigued. I felt their beasts curiosity. I could feel how powerful they both were. Their wolves were both destined to be great. I could just tell. Please check at N/?vel(D)rama.Org. "Well, there isn''t much to tell. It''s kind of boring over there," I told them honestly. L scoffed at me. "No way! What about all the hot guys?" She queried. I yfully rolled my eyes at her and shrugged. Back home was different to Takiani. People were more secluded and reserved. Most people there kept to themselves. It was always kind of quiet there. Especially after my mother''s death. It tore the pack apart. Some people left the pack, adventured across the country to other ces. Some went rogue, the pressure of losing their Luna was too much. The ones who stayed turned quiet. Terialta was quiet, tense, cautious. Everyone was always on edge. There wasn''t room for messing around anymore. No one wanted a repeat of what happened. There were people there who weren''t too effected and I had plenty of friends. Often, we''d go for a run and then make our way down to the river where we''d go swimming. But the group of us weren''t allowed to leave the pack without having at least two warriors apany us. I understood the pack''s wariness. They didn''t want anything bad to happen again, but it got ridiculous. The constant watching and the wolves that would follow me around, guarding me like I was the next victim. It got irritating and annoying. I hated it. "It''s tense there. After what happened to my mother... no one was the same, and it''s been almost ten years," I exined to them with a shrug. L and Brayleigh exchanged quick looks with each other, looks of pity. "What exactly happened to your mother?" L asked carefully. I could feel how curious she and Brayleigh both were. I knew that my life story was nothing to be ashamed of, but it dreaded the pity that would follow. I hated people feeling sorry for me. "Rogues mauled her. Tore her throat out," I replied bitterly. I remembered what happened that night as if it was only yesterday. It was all so clear to me. After all, I was forced to watch it happen. "I''m so sorry, Ali. My parents were killed by rogues too," L apologised gently. Then, I felt the pity that I dreaded. But it was different. I pitied L. Both her parents were killed by rogues? Both? Only one of mine was killed. What the hell was I so bitter about? I still bad a father, although, he was crap at being a good one sometimes. I saw the sadness in L''s eyes and it made my gut twist. It hurt to see one of our friends upset. It hurt to know that she had once suffered the same pain I had too. Losing a parent wasn''t easy. It was messy. It effected everyone around you. "My parents were ughtered by cruel vampires. It''s never easy, but you have to remember that they would have wanted you to go on," Ezra said as he ces a stack of pancakes in front of us. He set down toppings and then tes and cutlery. We all thanked him. "I know. That''s why I''m here. To get better. Right?" I smiled at Ezra. He smiled and nodded back at me before taking a seat at the head of the table. We all ate in silence, none of us talking. Every now and then, I caught L shing me sad nces and Ezra looking at me apologetically. Brayleigh kept head down as she ate, and I quickly assumed that the subject of death wasn''t easy on her. After we finished our food, we washed up and then Ezra pulled us into the living room where we all sat together on the couch and watched a movie. Then, we all decided it was time for bed. Brayleigh and L said goodbye to Ezra and I, making sure to hug me and rub their cheeks against mine before leaving the cabin. Then, Ezra hugged me tightly and kissed the top of my head before sending me off to my room. /// I yawned softly as I left the cabin with Ezra. I immediately smelt the fresh dew of the morning and felt the warmth of the suning up from its slumber. My wolf purred as she stretched and I sighed joyfully. The day was going to be a good one. My beast and I felt it the moment we stepped foot on the dirt path that Ezra and I would be running. It was the same one I had ran the first day in Takiani. I enjoyed the rocky hills that challenged me and I liked the way it made me out of breath. A challenge was good for my wolf. "Try to keep up, princess," Ezra teased as he started to jog. I rolled my eyes at him and caught up quickly. We kept a peaceful and easy pace for the first ten minutes before we sped up and broke out into a run. Ezra kept up with me easily, and I didn''t like it. I didn''t like that he was keeping up with me as if I wasn''t running fast. I sped up. I pushed myself hard through the forest, momentarily in front of Ezra. But he caught up quickly, not looking bothered at all by my sudden speed up. I growled lowly and I let my beast out. I listened to my clothes rip as I hit the ground on all fours. I pushed hard, ing up the rocky hills. I thought that Ezra would struggle to run up the hills. But I was wrong. Ezra matched my pace. He ran alongside me. I struggled, but I kept pushing. My breathing was hard and I was really trying hard to speed up. When we reached the top of the hill, I couldn''t help but growl lowly at Ezra who was keeping up with us easily. I saw him smirk and I looked away angrily. I pushed harder, adrenaline pumped through me fast and hard. I felt my beast surge through the long grass and I was pleased when I over took Ezra. I didn''t care if I left him behind, I just ran. I ran so fast that when I nced back, Ezra was still running several feet behind me. He was smiling a shit-eating grin that made me sigh. I realised what he was doing. He was challenging me. Trying to make me angry so I would push harder. It had worked too. I pushed at his mind, and he let me in. "You''re an ass." Ezra chuckled at me and shrugged as we came to a stop. We had ran that entire trail in a record time and I was exhausted. But I was proud. I was proud of my beast. She worked hard and deserved recognition. Ezra hugged me tightly and then pulled away. "You''re stronger than you think you are, Ali girl. Have fun today." He flicked my nose yfully and smiled. Chapter 6 - Getting Stronger Chapter 6 - Getting Stronger The rest of the week I trained hard. I ran every day, either with Ezra, Alfie or L and Brayleigh. Each day, they pushed me harder and harder. I remember the morning after my run with Ezra that I copsed to the ground. I had run with Alfie that morning. It was just him and I. Alfie was ruthless. He made us take a new track, one that extended all the way around Takiani. He told me it was the trail that the tracker wolves run, as it went along the borders of the pack. It was a long run, the longest one I''d ever been on. But I loved it. Alfie pushed me and pushed me. He wouldn''t let me slow down and only let me get faster and faster. He raced me, purposely getting me angry to try and bring out my beast''s fire. He said it worked, but he said it didn''t work enough. After the run, I had to sit down. I was panting hard, my heart was beating so fast that I felt it in my throat. My arms and legs were tingling with energy. I felt different. I felt great. Something I hadn''t felt in a while. But it wasn''t enough. So straight after my run, Alfie had me spar with Kade yet again. It was a good one, apparently. Alfie said that he saw a real change in the way I fought, and Kade even told me afterwards that I had improved since the first time we''d sparred. Although, Kade did beat me. It felt good to have himpliment me,ing from a wolf who could have just been cocky and rubbed it in my face that he won. It was a new morning, and I ran with Kade. He came to my door and made a joke about getting my zy ass out into the wild''. Which made my beast twitch. She didn''t like being calledzy, but she knew it was Kade trying to get us angry. He was challenging us to make our blood hum that same way other Alphas did. "You''re pretty fast... you should focus on channeling that in the rings. You could zip around your opponents pretty easy," Kade told me as we walked towards the sparring rings together. My beast swirled with pride. She was proud of me. She was proud of us. We liked getting good feedback from others, because it proved that we were doing at least one thing right. "My mother was fast. She was like a blur," I said to Kade. He started to speak to me, but my ears picked up on another conversation and I stopped listening to Kade to listen to this new one. "That''s her... the transfer. She''s an Alpha, but I think I could kick her ass. She looks weak," a girl voice said. I furrowed my eyebrows at the statement. They were talking about me. There weren''t any other Alphas that transferred from Terialta to Takiani. "By the looks of it, she''s sucking up to Kade so that Alfie will go easy on her," another girl scoffed. I heard my beast rumble angrily at theirments. Who the hell did they think they were? Talking about me like that? Did they know I could hear them? "Morning Kade, Alison. I hope you both had a good run this morning, but it''s time to start training," Alfie greeted us as we approached him. Kade and I both nodded at him and I crossed my arms bitterly. I was still angry about what those girls were saying. Did they know who I was? What I was capable of doing? I had never lost my shit before, but I was sure that if they kept talking smack, they would see me lose it. Alfie trained me hard that morning. He helped me work on my punches and my defence. He taught me about looking for weaknesses in my opponents and he told me all about using their strength against them if I wasn''t strong enough to hold my ground. He exined to me that wolves would pick on me once they knew that there was something that pissed me off. He said that some wolves were cocky and liked to push buttons. He said that I would face that exact problem. "In a fight, your opponent is going to want to rowdy you up. They''re going to get under your skin to make you angry. Once they find something that they know is weakness, whether it''s an injury or something to do with your hair. They''ll use it against you," Alfie exined to me. His examples made my blood boil. I didn''t like that other wolves would try to get me angry like that. I didn''t like how people would try and challenge me like that. "It''s going to happen, and the only thing you can do is channel your anger into your strength so you can beat their ass. It takes a lot of strength, but practise makes perfect," Alfie told me. I nodded and tied my hair up into a ponytail, keeping it out my face. "I''m going to get you to spar with me today. I think I''ll enjoy putting your ass in the dirt," Alfieughed at me. I rolled my eyes at him yfully but felt my beast rumble. She didn''t like that he was already thinking that he could beat us. "I won''t be leaving this ring without seeing you bleed, even if it''s just a little," I said quickly. Alfie laughed at this and we stepped into a ring. Alfie put down his clipboard outside the ring and then cracked his knuckles and stretched his arm. "No shifting until say... oh wow, that feels good to say," Kade chuckled from the sidelines. Alfie rolled his eyes at his son and then looked to me. We began to to circle each other, stalking around in the circle. My beast snapped at Alfie in our mind. She wanted a piece of his hide to show him that we were stronger than we looked. We could put up a challenge for him. We wanted to be hard to beat. I lunged at Alfie first. He blocked my punch and then hit me hard in the stomach, sending me toppling to the dirt. I grunted but pushed myself back up. Alfie came at me this time. He threw his fist at my nose, but I jumped out the way and then nailed him hard in the cor bone. Alfie didn''t look fazed, and that bothered me. I swung at him again and realised I was too slow. Alfie grabbed my wrist and he flipped me onto my back. I thudded in the dirt and groaned as I got up and growled at him. My beast was snapping and howling. She wanted to be let out. She wanted a bite of his ass. Alfie tried to punch me, and he missed as I ducked out the way. I hit him in the kidney with my elbow, and he took a step back. I nailed him hard in the ribs and then tried to punch him. When my fist made contact with Alfie''s jaw, he looked stunned. He wasn''t hurt, clearly, but he looked surprised. I took that to my advantage. I punched Alfie in the humerus, hard. I heard a crack, and Alfie winced. I frowned, but I kept going. But my moment of shocksted too long. Alfie punched me in the mouth. I tasted blood immediately and my beast growled loudly. She was getting angry now. "Shift," Kade said from outside the ring. I didn''t hesitate. I lurched forwards, swiping at Alfie with my paw. He ducked out the way and shifted. Alfie mmed into me, hard. He knocked me to the dirt and wed at my back. I bit back a yelp and growled instead. I rolled, Alfie''s wolf toppling over me. I got up to my feet quickly and shook out my fur. It felt good. I ran at Alfie. But he dodged out the way and pushed me into the dirt. I growled, getting an awful mouthful of dirt. But I got up anyway and turned around again. Alfie rumbled at me. His chest vibrated and he stood tall. Alfie was bigger than I was. He was a strong wolf, and I knew that I would not beat him in the fight. But I could at least get a few good hits in. I ran at Alfie fast. I faked left but then moved right. Alfie''s wolf was confused, and I took that opportunity to jump on his back. I wed at him hard, feeling my ws break open his skin. I cheered for my beast. She was doing so well. She pushed forwards, snapping her teeth. She was about to bite Alfie''s shoulder but he threw us off, hard. He sent us flying across the dirt. We groaned and got up anyway. Alfie was too fast for us to dodge out the way. He shed our leg with his teeth and then wed at our back. We were sent into the dirt yet again, and finally, Alfie backed off. The fight was over. I sighed and got up. Kade walked over to us, handing his father a pair of shorts and then me a baggy shirt. I took it in my mouth and bounded off into the trees to shift back. I slipped the shirt over my head and then walked back out to where Alfie and Kade were. My wolf was still pissed that we hadn''t gotten much out of Alfie, but she was proud at what we had done. Please check at N/?vel(D)rama.Org. "That was much better, Alison! You were humming real loud that time. Very impressive," Alfie told me as he beamed. Kade nodded in agreement and grinned at me. I felt even more proud. "I guess you could say we really wanted a bite out of your ass," I said as Iughed. The two males laughed also and it made me feel much better about losing the fight. I felt like they had a new respect for me. They knew I was capable of being a good fighter. "Hey, Ali!" I heard a shout. I looked up, watching Ezra walk towards me with a phone in his hand. "What''s up?" I asked him with a huff. I was tired and I needed a nice long shower. "Your brother is on the phone," Ezra told me, holding out the phone to me. I grinned and quickly grabbed the phone from him. I hadn''t spoken to my brothers a lot in the past week. I linked with Samaya the night before. He asked me how I was, and told me he missed me and worried about me. It wasn''t a long conversation, because I was drifting to sleep as we spoke, but it was nice to hear from one of them. I held the phone to my ear as Alfie waved me off. I waved goodbye to him and Kade as Ezra and I walked back to my cabin. "Hello?" I called into the phone. I heard voices on the other side of the phone and I walked into my cabin. "Hey, Ali!" Jax''s voice sounded through the phone. I grinned and leant against the kitchen counter. Ezra pulled beers out the refrigerator and opened one from me. I thanked him as I took it. "Hi Jax," I greeted him. I heard more voices on the other line. "You''re on loudspeaker. Samaya, Beckett and Rae are here too," Jax said, and I smiled warmly. It felt good to know that all my brothers were together just to talk to me. "Hi everyone," I greeted them all. I heard them calling back to me. "How''s Takiani? Not as good as Terialta, right?" Rae asked me. I rolled my eyes. Rae had always been a cocky wolf. "It''s good here. The people are nice," I replied. I sipped on my beer and Ezra left the room to give me privacy with my brothers. I was thankful to have met such a good guy. Ezra was the best. "That''s good! You haven''t had any... incidents?" Beckett spoke next. I heard the growl in his throat and I gulped anxiously. I knew what he meant. "No," I replied bluntly. I didn''t want to talk about it. "Good... well, we thought we should tell you that he''s not being punished. Dad said it was a mistake and that it wouldn''t happen again. He let that monster off with a warning," Samaya growled lowly. I heard the anger in his voice and felt myself get angry too. What?! He''s not being punished? Why? "We begged Dad to banish him. We pleaded and pleaded, but he didn''t budge," Rae told me, sounding bitter. I felt my wolf howl. She was upset and angry. We were pissed. We were really damn pissed. How could this monster not be punished for what he had done? How was it fair that I was hurt and nothing was being done about it? It hardly made sense, and it made my head pound. I felt my chest rumble, the vibrations rolling off me. I felt my blood heat up with anger that I''d never felt before. I gritted my teeth and tried to hold my breath. "We''re really sorry, Ali. But we promise that we''re going to make his life hell from now on," Beckett apologised sadly. I sucked in a deep breath and lowly exhaled. "I don''t know if I''ll be able toe home if he''s there. I¡ªI can''t face him again," I said truthfully. My beast paced in my mid. She was torn. We didn''t know what to do. We knew that we had three more weeks left before we either transitioned into Takiani or went back to Terialta. My beast nor I wanted to do either. We didn''t want to join Takiani because it wasn''t our home. We didn''t want to go home because of the monster that we would see once we went back. "Ali... are you alright?" I hear a voice from behind me. I turned around, facing Ezra who was walking back into the room. He walked slowly, cautiously. "I''m fine. Boys, I have to go. I''ll... talkter," I said bitterly before I hung up and put the phone down on the counter. Ezra walked towards me. He seemed careful, and I didn''t me him. I could smell my own anger and feel the emotion flowing off me like a damn river. I wanted blood, revenge for what had happened. "I think you need to go for a run," Ezra told me with a nod. I huffed angrily but nodded anyway. I left the cabin, heading towards the trail that L and Brayleigh had showed me. I shifted into my fur and tore out into the forest. My wolf growled and whined angrily as we sped up, running fast into the forest to try and calm ourselves down. Chapter 7 - Memories Chapter 7 - Memories When I got back from my run, I felt better. I had run until my legs gave out, and then I hauled myself to the river and slid into the water. I washed away the sweat and blood and then found some clothes stashed away in a hollow tree. I slipped on the clothes and walked back to my cabin. Upon entering my cabin, I smelt the wolves that were sitting inside. As I pushed the door open, I already knew who I was. I walked into the dining room where everyone was sitting at the table. L got up the moment she saw me and rushed over to me. She embraced me in a tight hug and rubbed my cheek with hers. I calmed my beast only a little. But it was enough to keep me rxed. Brayleigh and Kade sat next to each other at the table. Kade had his arm around her shoulders and had her close to him. I looked at them longingly before tearing my eyes away. I met eyes with Alfie and smiled weakly at him. Then I did the same with Ezra. They were all sat, drinking wine and beer with arge box of biscuits in the middle. I sat down, L sitting next to me at the table. "Hungry, Ali? I can make you a sandwich," Ezra asked me. I nodded at him and my belly grumbled as if on cue. He smiled at me and got up from the table. He kissed the top of my head before he started to make me something to eat. "You did the right thing, going for a run to cool off. It takes a lot of strength to make a decision when your mind is clouded with anger the way it was," Alfie told me as he pushed a beer towards me. I muttered my thanks and then nodded at him. "I felt like I could''ve ripped someone''s head off," I chuckled lightly. Kade smiled knowingly at me. "Alison, your brother, Beckett called Ezra after you left and he told us about you and what happened in Terialta," L told me through our private link. I widened my eyes at her as she slipped her hand into mine and smiled sadly. What? They knew? My insecurities swallowed me whole and I suddenly felt vulnerable and weak. I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. I was speechless. "Eat up. You need to get your energy back after your run," Ezra said as he pushed two sandwiches in front of me. I said nothing and I ate. The others all talked with each other whilst I ate. They didn''t necessarily try to speak to me, and I was d. I didn''t feel like talking to anyone. Especially now that they all knew my biggest secret. Alfie had to leave a short whileter. He stood up and smiled at me before leaving the cabin. I feel his blood humming as he walked away. Soon after, Kade and L left too. They exchanged worried nces with Brayleigh and I before they walked out. Then, Ezra left the cabin too. He imed that he needed to help some other wolves hunt, but I knew he was lying. It was just Brayleigh and I. "You know... you''re not alone in all of this," Brayleigh told me suddenly. I looked up from myp and at her. I saw the sadness in her eyes and I frowned. What was she talking about? I knew I''m not alone. I had a lot of people to help and support me. Although, I didn''t really want help. I didn''t want people to know. Especially this early in the friendships that I''ve made. "I was fifteen when I was raped by a man in the forest," Brayleigh said. I could hear the pain in her voice. I felt a sharp pang in my chest, and it hurt. Her too? "Really?" I whispered. My voice couldn''t go any louder. I felt like curling up into a ball for the rest of my life. I felt miserable. "Yeah... he was a rogue. I was on a run. I hadn''t even had my first shift yet. I wasn''t strong enough to fight him off. My mother found me shoved into some bushes a few hourster. We never found the rogue that did it," Brayleigh exined. I noticed how confident she sounded. She didn''t sound at all ashamed of what had happened to her. I envied her. How could she be so strong? Why wasn''t she as weak as I was? "It''s okay to be upset about it, Ali. I swelled on it for years until I met Kade... he helped me get over it. Obviously, it still bothers me, but it''s easier to think and talk about now," Brayleigh continued. I stared at her in awe. I couldn''t believe it. I couldn''t believe that I had met someone who had something that brutal in common with me. It was hard for me to wrap my head around. "I''m so sorry, Bray," I told her softly. She reached out to me. She grabbed my hands and held them gently in hers. She was understanding. "It''s okay, Ali. I got through it and you will too. But you need to ept it first. It happened, and it was terrible. But you''re stronger than that," she said. I watched tears gloss over her eyes and I felt like crying too. My gut wrenched painfully. I bit my bottom lip, trying to stop myself from sobbing. My head hurt from talking about it, but I knew that I couldn''t just shut myself off like I normally did. Brayleigh was here to help me. She wanted to be my friend and help me get through this. So did the others. They were in my cabin because they wanted to help. They were doing it for me. "Can you tell me what happened? I didn''t get a lot of details from Ezra. He was quite choked up about it," Brayleigh asked me. I slowly nodded at him. This would be the second time I told someone what happened. "I was on a run, just like you. My father''s Beta caught up with me. We ran a little longer, and I just thought that he was running with me as a guard or something. But then he grabbed me and tossed me to the dirt. "I tried to fight him so hard. I wed at him, I kicked and punched. But he was so strong, I couldn''t do anything... After, I sat there in the dirt for hours crying before one of my brothers came to find me. He saw the marks on my legs and he was furious. He smelt the Beta on me and knew what had happened almost immediately." I took a deep breath as I felt tears run down my cheeks. Brayleigh held my hands tighter, caressing her thumb over the top of my hand. I cried a little before I sniffled and tried to continue. "He carried me back and took me to the doctor. He told her what had happened. She alerted my father. He wasn''t even mad. He didn''t care about what had happened. He didn''t even punish his Beta. That''s what my brothers called to tell me today. "He let his Beta off with a warning for raping his only daughter. My brothers pleaded with him, but I think my father just didn''t care. My brothers were furious when they found out, and they tried to do something, but my father wouldn''t even let them do that," I sobbed as I spoke. My head pounded painfully as I cried. I hated crying and I hated feeling like this. Brayleigh got up from her chair and walked around the table to me. She knelt and embraced me in a tight hug that made me feel better. She let me cry and just rubbed my back. My beast howled. She was hurting. We were hurting. We wished that we were stronger. It wouldn''t have ever happened in the first ce if we were strong. "That''s the whole reason I''m here! My father didn''t want to... deal with it. So he sent me away," I sobbed into her shirt. I heard her growl and then sigh. "It''s wrong, Ali. So wrong. But you''re here now and it''s never going to happen again, okay? When you go back to Terialta, you will be able to kick his ass straight into the curb," Brayleigh sighed softly as she continued to rub my back. I sobbed more at the thought of having to ever return to Terialta. I never wanted to face that cruel man ever again. I never wanted to see my father again either. I didn''t understand how he could let his Beta away with only a warning. Did he not care about me? I didn''t want to see anything of Terialta ever again. There were too many bad memories in that ce. Just thinking about it made my head hurt more. I was torn on what to do. I knew that I didn''t have the guts to return to Terialta, but I also didn''t have the guts to tell my father that I was going to stay in Takiani. He would probably disown me. "Can we not talk about what happens in four weeks right now?" I whispered to Brayleigh. I felt her nod and then hug me tighter. I heard the front door open and I pulled away from her. She smiled at me weakly and stood. I nced behind me. Ezra walked into the room and smiled sadly. "Kade is waiting outside for you. He says that he hopes you''re alright," Ezra said and then looked at me. I felt Kade outside, his wolf was an edge. It felt good to know that he cared about me as well. Brayleigh kissed my crown before leaving the cabin. Ezra walked over to me, grabbing my arm. He pulled me up and then into the living room where he sat me on the couch. He let me sit with my head on hisp and he stroked my hair. I shut my eyes and tried to stop myself from crying yet again. I hated crying. "You''re so strong, Ali. We''re all proud of you," Ezra told me softly. I sniffled and nodded subtly as he continued to stroke my hair gently. His actions calmed my beast but only a little. I could tell he was on edge. He wasn''t happy. "If I ever get the chance, I''ll kill the man that hurt you. You deserve better," Ezra said darkly. I smiled weakly and wiped my nose. I was d that Ezra cared this much. "We''reing around with ice creamter, just letting you know," L''s voice chirped inside my head. I smiled even more at her words. I was over the moon that there was more than one person who cared for me. My brothers were almost alway the only people I had that truly cared for me. There was one other girl, who I trusted with anything and everything. But she had met her mate a little while ago and she had to leave with him to his pack. She cared so much for me, and I hadn''t had anything like it since her. But now, I was surrounded by several people who felt for me. "Try and rest, Ali girl. You need to sleep," Ezra told me softly. He moved his hand away from my head and started to rub my shoulder gently. I sighed softly as I pulled my knees up to getfortable. Ezra reached back and pulled the nket that sat at the end of the couch onto my body. I snuggledfortably and let myself drift off into a deep sleep. This content is ? N?velDrama.Org. Chapter 8 - Alpha Blood Chapter 8 - Alpha Blood I woke up early the next morning. My sleep hadn''t been peaceful, as the nightmares hade in the night. They shocked me awake and kept me up for most of the night. But I knew that nightmares weren''t an excuse to not train the next morning. I dressed in tight leggings and a tank top. I didn''t intend on shifting into my fur on the run. I still had healing wounds from the day before and I didn''t want to risk hurting them more whilst I ran. I decided I would wait until I sparredter on. "Morning, Ali. You stilling on the run this morning?" L greeted me. I smiled warmly as I slipped on my sneakers and tied theces. "Hey. I''m running but I won''t shift. Still have some injuries that I don''t want to make bleed," I told her. I heard her wolf yip in approval in my mind and I stood up. I made my way out my room and into the kitchen where Ezra was standing. He shot me a sincere look that made me feel better. I liked that he cared for me. I hadn''t known him long but we already had a connection that I knew I would never want to lose. "We''re waiting outside for you," Brayleigh told me. I grinned and waved goodbye to Ezra. He cheekily blew me a kiss as I walked out the cabin. Surely enough, L and Brayleigh were waiting outside my cabin for me. When they saw me, they both shed me wide grins. They both rubbed their cheeks against mine and I felt something pull between L and I. I wasn''t sure if she felt it, because she just turned and started to lead the way. Something inside my mind told me to stay close to her, so I did. The three of us ran together. The girls didn''t try to push me or challenge me. They let me run at my own pace. "You''re humming, Ali," Brayleigh told me as we reached the rocky hills. I looked over at her and saw her smile. I nced down at myself momentarily and indeed felt my blood humming. My veins were buzzing with hot fire that came from my Alpha. I felt it, and my wolf yipped. But we both knew our blood was still to get louder. I said nothing but I smiled as we ran on. The run up the rocky hills was harder on two legs but we all made it to the top quickly and kept going. When we made it back to the pack, we were all breathing hard and panting tiredly. Brayleigh didn''t have training today, but L did. She told me that she worked with Alfie mostly. We said goodbye to Brayleigh as she went to go and shower. L and I walked over to Alfie who was talking to other students. There were four of them. They were all sweating and panting. They must''ve just done something hard to be sweating that bad. "Go for a run to cool off. Oh, and if you see Ma out there, tell him to get his ass back here before I go out there and find it myself," Alfie ordered the wolves. They nodded at him and began to run towards a track that would take them deep into the forest. "Morning Alfie," I greeted him. He looked up at L and I and then smiled. He nced at the time on his wrist watch and screwed up his nose. "You finished your run early this morning. Was it was good one?" Alfie asked us. L nodded at him and then chuckled a little. "She was running so fast. Bray and I were struggling to keep up," L replied, making me frown. I hadn''t readied that I was running fast. I knew it was good that I was challenging them for once. "Fantastic. That''s what I like to hear. L, I''ve set you up with Devon over there. He said he''s set up some tasks to work with you today," Alfie replies. He motioned his thumb in the direction of whoever this Devon person was. L nodded and then waved goodbye to me before walking away. "You''re sparring with Anthony today. Do you remember him? Henry''s son?" Alfie told me as he began to walk. I frowned at him and quickly followed. I didn''t think I was allowed to spar with pack members. That what I was told. "But he''s pack. I''m not," I protested. Alfie nodded and me and looked away from his clipboard. "Yes, but he volunteered and I thought it would be fine. Plus, I liked that you snapped your teeth at him when you first met. I''d like to see more of that today," Alfie told me with a knowing grin. He thought that I could win this fight. But could I? Could I actually win a fight against another Alpha wolf? Hell, Anthony was probably an Alpha who''d trained every day since he was able to walk. Did I even have a chance against him? "Don''t worry, Ali. He''s too cocky for his own good. His punches are sloppy and he''s not nearly as fast as you. I think you''ll manage just fine," Alfie muttered to me as we approached a ring. I sucked in a deep breath, trying to shake the nerves and gain some confidence. I only grew more nervous as saw Anthony. Anthony was standing inside the ring. He looked amused when he saw me and then began to look me up and down like a snack. Alfie snapped his teeth at the young male, who looked away from me quickly. "Alright. Just a clean fight today. No shifting until I say, okay?" Alfie said as I stepped into the ring. I stretched out my arms and then sucked in a deep breath and readied myself for the fight. Alfie was right. Anthony was not fast. He punched for my face and I ducked out the way with plenty of time to spare. Anthony punched again and he got me in the stomach. His punch was weakpared to others that I''d felt. It hurt, but not as much as it did when Kade it Alfie had punched me in previous fights. I elbowed Anthony in the jaw. His head tossed to the side and I took the opportunity to kick him in the femur and send him tumbling to the floor. It was the first time I had properly put someone in the dirt. I grinned but then let my smile fade. I didn''t want to be cocky. It would get me in trouble. Being cocky got you killed. But I was still damn proud. My beast howled victory in the back of my mind. Anthony got up and growled at me. He was getting angry and it was easy to tell. He lunged for me, punching me hard in the shoulder and then in the jaw. My wolf growled as we stumbled back. Anthony went to punch me in the stomach, but I grabbed his wrist before he could and I twisted. Anthony cried out in pain as I heard a crack from his newly dislocated wrist. I heard chuckles from the sideline. The male pulled himself away from me. He looked down at his wrist and then snapped it back into ce. He winced at the pain and then rolled his shoulders and growled at me. I growled back and lunged for him. I nailed him hard in the shoulder and then punched him in the nose. He stumbled, beginning to fall backwards. He grabbed me and pulled me to the ground with him. He flipped us over so he was pinning me to the ground and he hit me. I tasted blood and I groaned. I mmed my elbow into his thigh, feeling the bone on my elbow and he hissed in pain. I pushed him to the side and he fell into the dirt, clutching his leg. That would leave a bruise. "Shift," Alfie called from the sidelines. We both shifted at the same time. The first thing I noticed was how Anthony''s wolf was the same size as mine. I wasn''t sure if I shouldugh at him or feel proud. Was I growing or was he just a small wolf? Anthony pounced onto our back. He wed at us, and we tossed him off hard. He thudded into the dirt and I went for him immediately. I bit him in the shoulder and mped my jaw down until I broke through the flesh, tasted blood and felt the bone at my teeth. I felt his bones crush underneath my jaw. Anthony''s wolf yelled in pain as he pushed me off. I took a chunk of his skin with me and tossed it towards Alfie, who chuckled. He looked more than amused at the fight. Anthony shot him a threatening look and then looked back to me. But he was toote. I swiped him across the face with my paw and he yelped once again. Anthony had had enough. He growled loudly at me, and I felt the tension in the air change. He lunged at me, knocking me to the ground. Anthony was ruthless. He snapped and wed and then snapped and wed some more. He resembled a rabid dog. He bit hard into my paw, and I yelped. I threw him off me, and he tumbled along the ground. Anthony was breathing hard, and Alfie stepped in front of me. "Anthony, that''s enough. Go run it off," Alfie demanded. Anthony looked back at me, anger seeping off of him. We was too angry and too worked up. From what I knew from back home, when wolves got too angry during sparring, the fight was broken up before it got too intense. I understood why. "Go run it off. NOW!" Alfie demanded again when Anthony didn''t move. Anthony huffed and then turned and ran. He disappeared into the trees within seconds and I sighed. I would say that we tied that match. That was better than anything I''d ever done before. "You did good, kid. He was getting too angry. Usually we stop the fights before people get out of hand. An angry werewolf is a dangerous werewolf," Alfie told me as he turned around to face us. I nodded my head at him and he looked around. "We''ve still got plenty to do. I was thinking we could make a trip up the river again?" Alfie cocked his head at me. I groaned and heughed. N?velDrama.Org owns this. We found L and brought her with us this time. I changed back into workout clothes and then joined L and Alfie as we walked towards the river. When we arrived, L and I both attached the weights to our arms, legs and waist. They weren''t necessarily heavy but I knew they would effect how we worked. L and I slipped into the water and began walking upstream. The water was cold and refreshing on my sore body. I was still bleeding a little from my fight with Anthony and it was good to be in the water and wash away the blood. "Let''s go. You''re being slow," Alfie scolded L and I. L scoffed at him and I chuckled a little. We pushed harder in the water. We moved against the flowing water and tried to move as fast as possible. But my whole body was tired within minutes. We''d done this once the days before. It didn''tst long because L and I gave up, but I had a feeling that today would be a longer trip. We walked for what felt like hours. My whole body ached in pain and every time Iined, Alfie would groan and say ''you''ll get a bath once you finish''. L struggled, but she kept up with me. We made a bet over our link that whoever dropped out first owed the other person twenty bucks. I wasn''t intending on losing that bet, so I pushed harder than I''ve ever pushed before. Despite my arms and legs feeling like jelly, and my chest burning with pain, I moved on. I wade through the water, using my heavy arms to help myself through the water. I pushed my legs trying to take bigger steps in attempts to make more distance in the water. "Alright. Stop here. Hop out," Alfie finally said. I groaned, satisfied that the torture was over and then sighed as I realised that no one won the bet. I wasn''t going to get twenty bucks richer anytime soon. L and I got out the water and took off the weights. We handed them to Alfie who slung them over our shoulders, weighing us down. Heughed at us as we groaned. "He''s such a dick. We should kick his ass for this," L groaned into my head. Iughed at her and nudged her slightly as Alfie made us jog. We jogged back to the pack and when we got back, we threw the weights at Alfie who chuckled and then dismissed us. I told L that I would see her afterwards and headed back to my cabin for a hot bath to soothe my sore bones. Chapter 82 - Uncovered Chapter 82 - Uncovered I rolled over slowly and softly sighed through my mouth. I felt hands clutch at my bare skin as an uneasy feeling settled in my mind. I opened my eyes, ncing around the room. I was still in my normal room. The shine from the sun setting came through the gaps in the curtains, lighting up the room. I could see the pile of clothes on the floor; my shirt and Liam''s boxers. I smiled warmly as I felt Liam''s body pressed against mine. He stirred in his sleep and I felt uneasy again. I felt a little sick to my stomach, and I knew that it wasn''t me. It was Liam. He was having a nightmare. I rolled over and propped myself up on my elbow as I looked at him. His face was screwed up, almost as if he was in pain. Sweat beaded along his forehead and his face was pale. My beast whined. I reached out to him and cupped his cheek gently. Liam stirred some more in his sleep, an inaudible mumble escaped his lips. I brushed my thumb over his cheek bone worriedly. What was he dreaming about? "Liam," I whispered softly. He stirred. "Liam, baby," I whispered again as I propped myself up a little more. He squeezed his eyes shut tighter, his whole body going tense as he struggled. I frowned at him as he tugged my hand from his face and dug his ws into my skin. I winced. What the hell was he dreaming about? "Don''t leave. Please don''t go," he mumbled out, the distress showing on his face. He looked calm enough to not be woken, but if his grip got any tighter on my wrist, we''d have a problem. "Hey, hey, shh," I hushed him, trying to be calm. He stirred some more, his grip on my wrist tightening. He looked like he was in physical pain this time, and he winced. "Come back to me. I''m sorry," he said through a shaky voice. I tried to pry myself from his grip as blood began to run down my arm. "Liam, wake up," I said, nudging him with my leg. My stirred and adjusted himself a little. He turned towards me, clutching his bare chest. His ws were out on that hand too. He was struggling. I had to wake him up. "Liam, you have to wake up. It''s just a nightmare," I said to him, shaking him gently. He opened his mouth to sleep talk again, but his eyes shot open. He looked around the room, panicked. I tried to reach out to him, but his grip on my wrist was still tight. His eyes shot down to my arm, and he gasped out as he released me quickly. "Hey, it''s okay," I hushed him softly as I cupped his cheek again. He stared at me intensely, and the nced to my bloody arm. His eyes softened as he sat up. Liam looked down at me and grabbed my arm. He studied my bloody wrist intensely before he brought it to his lips. He licked away the blood and licked the wound. I felt my skin buzz from his saliva healing the cuts in my skin and the bond waking up. It took away the pain quickly. "I''m so sorry," he whispered out as he licked his lips of my blood. He rubbed my wrist softly, staring down at me with a look in his eyes that I didn''t like. Guilt. "You were having a nightmare. It''s not your fault," I told him softly. Liam shook his head at me and sighed out. "I didn''t mean to hurt you," Liam said, kissing my knuckles. I shrugged at him and smiled gently. I didn''t care that he''d hurt me, I was just d he was okay. "It''s fine. It''ll heal, right?" I chuckled a little at him. A smirk appeared on Liam''s lips as his eyes nced down at my bare breasts. My skin glowed in the sunlight. I felt great. He got up and grabbed clothes. He pulled them on before moving to my chest of drawers with all my clothes. He grabbed my undergarments and helped me easily slip into them before helping me dress into clothes. "I''d love to stay in here forever with you, but people woulde looking eventually," Liam told me as he went to reach for the door. I giggled and took his hand as he pulled me out the door. We walked down the hallway to find that the house was empty. I smelt Bodie and Gwendoline''s scents, and figured they''d left early. They''d either gone on a run or gone to find breakfast. Or, they''d grown tired of Liam and I''s constant moaning and left the house. "You should''ve told me that you were hiding out here. I would''vee sooner, and I wouldn''t have told anyone," Liam told me as I tossed my hair up into a messy bun. We left the house, hand in hand. I clutched at him tightly, leaning against him as we walked. "People would''ve figured out where I was if you''d just told them you wereing here for no random reason," I told him. Liam smirked as he looked out ahead of him. "I told Henry that a family friend died. I made the others stay out in a cabin just outside our border and then came here on my own. I didn''t tell them I wasing to see you. Pretty sure L figured it out though," Liam exined to me. I rolled my eyes. "How are they all?" I asked him. I missed my family, and all my other friends. I hadn''t seen them in so long. Liam sighed and shrugged. "Good. But they''re tense. They seem like they''re waiting for something to happen." I bit my bottom lip as we walked slowly Mason and Hallie''s house. They had told me the morning before that they were having yet another family breakfast there. I assumed they all expected for me to show up with Liam. "Are you sure you don''t want to go back to the cabin?" I asked him as I looked up at him. My beast grew desperate for him again, my lower abdomen throbbing and I felt needy for him. Again. Liam smiled down at me as he winked. "Everyone will know what we''re doing anyway!" I eximed as I looked up at him with desperate eyes. He smirked at me and winked. It was exactly what he wanted. "They all know what we''ve been doing since the moment Wesley and Jason returned to the house after they brought you outside to see me," Liam told me. I bit my bottom lip anxiously. Suddenly, I was embarrassed to face everyone. "Come on, sugar. It''ll be okay," Liam told me. He took my hand and pulled me forwards. I walked along on shaky legs. When we got to Mason and Hallie''s house, I checked to make sure that my clothes looked okay. Liam just chuckled at this as he pushed open the door. "Ali! Liam! You''re here! Daddy was saying you two wereing," Trixie appeared in my sight. She beamed at the two of us and hugged me. She hugged Liam and then pulled away. "You two smell funny," she giggled at us. I raised my eyebrows at her and looked to Liam. He was smirking like a damn idiot. She turned around and ran away. I heard her shouting that Liam and I had arrived, and I shuddered. Everyone surely knew what Liam and I had been up to. Liam snaked his arm around my waist as we walked down the hallway. I stered a giant grin onto my face as I greeted everyone. "Morning kids. Just on time. Breakfast is ready," Mason greeted from the kitchen. He shed Liam and I wide smiled and I flushed. Gwendoline stride over to me and grinned. She engulfed me in a tight hug, Liam''s arm slipping from my waist. "Congrattions," she whispered to me. She pulled away and then turned to Liam. "Liam, this is Gwendoline. She''s Lauri''s younger sister," I introduced the two. Gwendoline grinned at Liam, whilst Liam smiled back and nodded respectfully at her. Gwendoline turned her head and moved her hand. I followed her gaze to see she was motioning for Bodie toe over. He rose from his seat.C0pyright ? 2024 N?v)(elDrama.Org. Liam''s mind went crazy as he recognised Bodie immediately. Questions bounced around his mind as Bodie approached us. "Bodie! You''re alive!" Liam gasped out in shock. The two hugged, and then they pulled away. Bodie awkwardlyughed and scratched the back of his head as Gwendoline stood beside him. He put an arm around her waist. "Well, yeah. It''s kind of a long story," Bodie said, sneaking a nce at me. I winced. I didn''t know what Liam would think of Bodie told him that Henry faked his own son''s death. "I''ve got time," Liam said hurriedly. He looked at me and opened his mind to me. I was pulled as he showed me memories of Brodie''s funeral and the day they''d found out that he had been killed. Liam was devastated. "Well, basically, Henry faked my death," Bodie said, shrugging. Bodie refused to call Henry his Dad or his father. I didn''t me him. Liam''s head went crazy. He had a million different unanswered questions and his whole head was spinning. The bond dragged me back to him as I grabbed his hand and intertwined our fingers. "What?" Liam mumbled out. He looked from Bodie and then down to me. He didn''t understand it was because he didn''t know the full story. "Liam, there''s a lot behind it. How about we sit down to eat first before I tell you everything?" I suggested softly. I squeezed his hand to try and assure him that things were alright. "But I¡ª" "Liam, boy, she''s right. Come sit down, catch up with your friend, and then we''ll exin," Nics piped up. I looked up and watched his uncle approach is. He patted Bodie on the back. We all nodded, and Liam blinked, still confused. But he moved with me when I tugged him to the table to sit down.
