    I stand up and begin working on the cover of the crib. The lock starts to open and I lift the top off. I


    slowly climb down and lightly put my feet on the floor. I feel like a secret agent, or an inmate trying to

    I tip toe my way to the door and start fidgeting with the two locks above me. I look to the side of the lock

    I undo the locks on the front door.

    window and see a dark empty street. I sigh a breath of relief and throw myself on his couch.

    I hear some more hard knocks on the door.

    I hear the footsteps lessen and now all I hear is faint sirens and crickets. I let out a deep breath and

    I notice an open window and climb inside. I jump down and fall into the gymnasium. I let out a groan

    before stopping to get gas.

    I start drifting off to sleep when I hear a tapping at the window. I lean up and look across the room. I


    hear the tapping again, but louder. I see a shadowy figure stare back at me and I jump back. "What the


    fuck?" I whisper. The tapping gets louder and louder before I can make out a face. "Rex?!"

    After another failed attempt of calling Kaylee, I end the call before the beep of her voice mail. "What are

    boyfriend and now I''m a terrible little boy." I cry into teddy for a bit before a strike of lightning hits the


    window and makes me jump. "You know what? I''m sick of running! I''m sick of always giving up! For


    once..for once I''m going to fight back even when the going gets tough." At that I slip on a hoodie and


    ce teddy in the pocket. I pack some things in my backpack,ce up my sneakers and head for the

    I slowly open my door and quietly make my way down the hall. I really don''t want to deal with Ethan

    I feel a bright light hitting my face, it can''t be the sun can it? Have I really been running for hours? I


    shake my head as the light gets stronger and closer. I look up from my palms and see headlights, dead


    in front of my face. "Hey!" a male voice yells from the car. I stand up and grab my bag, getting ready to


    make a run from whatever creep is staring at me in the early hours of the morning. Maybe they think I

    on the road. "Drive now. Questionster." He chuckles and turns up the radio, probably to keep a hold

    After a while of driving and mixed directions he pulls in front of Kaylees. I go to get out but freeze. "It''s


    so early, she''s probably sleeping let''s just go." Ethan gets out and opens my door. "Not a chance little


    buddy, you were willing to walk all of this way, in the pouring rain for this girl, go in there and get your

    and get out of the car.


    "Hold on bud" Ethan licks his hand and slicks my hair back, making me cringe a bit and pull away.

    way up the drive way. I look back one more time and see a smiling Ethan giving me two thumbs up. I


    giggle to myself, take a deep breath and ring the door bell. "One minute!" I hear Kaylee yell. My heart


    starts beating a million miles a minute and I feel my whole body crunch up. "Oh God what am I doing."+


    I back up a bit as she opens the door, a ck haired,green eyed boy sits on her hip, snuggling into her.

    life depended on it. "Who''s she carrying?" I look over and see Kaylee walking down the driveway. "Take


    me back to campus." Ethan goes to say something when I squeeze him tighter. "Please." He nodds his


    head and ces me in the passenger seat. I lean my head against the window as my tears fall.


    "Landon!" Kaylee runs to the car and I tell Ethan to drive fast. I look behind me and watch Kaylees


    image fade, just as fast as she faded out of my life.


    After only about 10 minutes of driving, Ethan pulls up to a pretty huge house. It looked pretty familiar. I


    think I''ve seen it before on my way to Dens. Oh shit Den. I hope he''s okay I have to go and-


    "Alright buddy were gonna crash here for tonight, don''t worry my parents are out of town." I go to get


    out when Ethan picks me up and carries me inside. He rubs off some stained tears on my puffy red


    cheeks and strips me of his sweatshirt, throwing it on his couch.


    "Stay here, I don''t think any of my clothes will fit you so hold on." Ethan sits me on his bed and pulls out


    a box from his closet. "Here we go." He smiles and pulls out a dinosaur sleeper with tags still attached.

    "Alright little guy let''s go figure out this Den situation, my boy must be terrified."


    Ethan, or daddy, gives me a ziplock bag of cherrios and buckles me in the back seat. "Where are we


    going?" I look up and ask as Ethan drives into the main part of town. "Poilce station bud, daddys got to


    talk to some officers okay?" I nodd my head and look out the window, this is all my fault, I ruined so


    many people''s lives just by being so selfish. Anyone would react the same way though right? I mean


    who would just be calm and collected after being kidnapped? I argue wih myself for another 15 minutes

    speeds out of the parking lot. "Can you believe it? They don''t believe I know Den!" I look down and

    back at me. "I promise none of this is your fault Landon, you did what anyone would do in your


    situation, it''s the police''s fault for arrested Den under a harbouring charge, wait till I get awyer!" I


    look out the window and watch the cars next to us pass, Ethan continues to rant about the justice


    system and Den.


    After another 10 minutes of driving Ethan turns down a road that makes my heart skip a beat. "Ethan


    where..where are we going." He gives me a half smile through the mirror and turns down another


    street. "I''m so sorry to do this to you buddy, but I need Kaylees help, her dads awyer, I don''t know


    where else to turn." I feel my stomach twist and my eyes start to burn. "No please! I''ll find you one!" He


    smiles and pulls into her drive way. "I can''t afford anyone else monkey, I have no time to waste." He


    unbuckles he seat belt and jumps out. "You can stay here, I promise I''ll be right out." I watch Ethan


    knock on the door and wait, just like I had down the day before. "Please don''t be home please don''t be


    home." I whisper to myself. I bury my face in my hands and try to swallow the lump in my throat. I look


    between my fingers and see Ethan walk in. "Shit."


    After what feels like an hour, it was only about 15 min in reality, Ethan walks out and opens my door.


    "Are we going now? Please daddy?" I looked up at him teary eyed and shaky. "No bud, We need to


    talk." I gulp as he picks me up and brings me into the ce I tried to escape from more times than I can


    count. "Ethan no! Ethan please! Daddy please!" Ethan sets me down and that same boy walks over to


    me. I hate him. I hate everything about him! I sink to the floor next to Ethans leg and cover my face.


    "Did you call him daddy?" I ignore my new found enemy and keep my gaze at the floor. "That''s my


    daddy!" The boy giggles and I look up. "Den?" He nodds and reaches for Ethan. "But you.." I narrow


    my eyebrows at the two. "He dyed his hair." I turn my head and see Kaylee standing over me. "Well we


    dyed his hair." I went to say something but Kaylee cut me off. "After your escape stunt, he was


    arrested, after bringing you back to campus I had bailed him out but they wouldn''t drop the charges, so


    we dyed his hair, this way he isn''t as noticeable to police eyes." I look around and see Den and


    Ethan cuddling. "He looks so.." Ethan chuckles. "Different? You''re telling me! I didn''t even notice my


    boy yesterday, ck hair is a good look for him though." Den giggles and Kaylee kneels down to my


    level. "I tried to exin things before you ran away yesterday, I was on my way to bring Den to


    Ethan at the campus, Den''s phone is still in police custody, I was going to go find you afterwards and


    talk to you but you kind of found me first." I stand up and Kaylee stands up with me, I look her in the

    you so much." I smile wide and jump into her arms. "I love you too, I deserved every bit of this, you


    taught me a lesson I''ll never forget, I''m so sorry for everything, can I please be your little boy?" Kaylee


    wipes some tears from both of out eyes and nodds her head. "Yes my bubba, you''re my everything,


    please no more running off." I grab Kaylees cheek with one hand and kiss her deeply, "I can promise


    that''ll never happen again." Kaylee lifts me up and holds me close as I snuggle into her. "How about


    some ice cream for the reunion?" Ethan says as he carries Den to his car. "Sounds good how about


    it baby boy?" Kaylee kisses my head, following Ethan. I nodd my head and smile. "I guess I could use a


    real sweet sweet treat since I already got a taste of Mommy''s Sweet Sweet Revenge." Kaylee rolls her


    eyes andughs as she straps me into her back seat. "I love you Landy." I look up and kiss Kaylees


    cheek. "I love you more mommy."
