《On Fire》 Chapter 1 Public Relations Manager Chapter 1 Public Rtions Manager I was born in a little-known small county. I was originally a designer or an officedy. But due to some reasons, I was now a manager. I made up a job and lied to my mother about it. I didn¡¯t want her to worry about me as she was getting older. I wanted to leave this ce a long time ago. Two years ago, I was a manager at Golden Emperor in M City. I was not actually experienced or suitable for the position, but I thought that the sry was higher working as a manager. Luckily I was good with people back then and worked for a few months without any issue. I used a fake name here, Barbara Cox. The people here called me Barbara. I was actually quite young inparison to the other workers here, but I put on heavy make-up and made myself looked older. Nobody had ever seen my face without make-up. I always wanted to leave this ce and go to work without hiding anything, I wanted a normal white- cor job. I wanted to do a job that I loved in the future, and hence I tried my best to hide my true self every day. But misfortune woulde to you when you least expected it! I treated my subordinate very well as a manager and the people working under me were all nice people. Once, a girl named Angel, a freshman who dropped out of university came to work under me. She was working to pay for her boyfriend¡¯s tuition fee. I didn¡¯tment on her blind love towards her boyfriend, as I had no love experience. I didn¡¯t know This text is ? N?velDrama/.Org. how to love somebody, but I didn¡¯t think that I would ever do something like what Angel was doing. She was still young and naive and was easily picked. One day, a manager from another group said that they wanted a pure and pretty girl. And so, I rmended Angel. But who knew that soon after that she argued with a customer. The customer was out of control and even the security guards couldn¡¯t hold him down. I couldn¡¯t do anything else but called the police. The customer was then taken away. Our boss Cooper Chan covered up the incident, but I wasn¡¯t let off the hook. I was framed by that customer. Back then, I didn¡¯t know what was happening and didn¡¯t know the man who framed me. After that incident, I left Golden Emperor and went to work at a newly opened ce called Charm Club. I was forced to drink while working here. I wasn¡¯t a good drinker and was shit-faced every day. I would rest in the resting room after my shift and only go home once I sober up. The customers here would leave around 1-2 in the morning, some would even stay until 3-4 in the morning. I looked at the time and it was turning 3 a.m soon. It was gettingte, and I was nning to make rounds looking at the rooms, in the meant time hinting to the customers that we were closing soon. I looked into the mirror and freshened myself up, I put on a big smile and walked out. The moment I walked out of the resting room, a person came flying towards me and ran into me. Chapter 2 Ruffian Chapter 2 Ruffian I took two steps backwards from the inertia and had to bnce myself. I looked up and realized that it was Lily. Her face was flushed and there were tears in her eyes. She cried the moment she saw me. ¡°Barbara¡¡± ¡°What happened?¡± I asked as I frowned. ¡°Upstairs in the Peony Room, they¡¯re crazy¡¡± I was taken aback, but I quickly went the stairs. There were three floors in this building, and the highest floor was where the VIP rooms were located. The minimum spending was twenty thousand and I would normally assign these important customers to my brighter subordinates. I heard someone yelling as I stood outside of the Peony Room. ¡°Drink up!¡± The person sounded like he had the authority and was extremely arrogant. His voice exploded like a grenade in the room and the other sounds drowned in his loud voice. I peeped into the room through the ss on the door. Thedies in there were so scared that they turned off the music and were trying to sneak out. Though, they were halted by a man by the door. He pped one of them harshly on the face. ¡°My boss didn¡¯t say that you could leave,¡± said a man with yellow hair rudely and cockily. ¡°I¡ I just wanted to leave...!¡± One youngdy was so frightened and she started sobbing as she squatted down. A plump man put his leg on the edge of the couch table. He was drunk and he yelled at thedies in front of him. ¡°Here¡¯s the money, here¡¯s the fucking money! You get one bill if you drink a cup. Come over here, all of you, right now. Drink up and the more you drink the more money you¡¯ll get.¡± ¡°Sir, I¡¯m sorry. I cannot drink because I¡¯m on my period.¡± ¡°So what? Stop crying and drink. It¡¯s not like your family is dead or something. Drink up¡¡± ¡°Ah, I¡¯m sorry, please let me go¡¡± The room was filled with screaming and pleading. Rage was burning inside of me seeing thedies bawling their eyes begging the men. This was my first time seeing something like this. These people drank way too much. Thedies never had to handle such a terrible situation before. They were crying their lungs out and their wail could be heard from the room non-stop. But this was the VIP room, the waitress wouldn¡¯t normallye over if they were not requested to. I got worried and quickly called Toby Jones, the owner of the ce. I hoped that he could help the girls out, but he said something unbelievable after hearing my exnation of the situation. ¡°Barbara, don¡¯t worry about it. The people in there already spent more than two hundred thousands¡¡± ¡°But sir, the situation is different¡¡± ¡°Don¡¯t be a busybody. Everything is fine as long as nobody dies.¡± ¡°But I¡¡± He hung up and I could only hear the phone beeping. I didn¡¯t think that the owner would be so heartless and I felt a shiver down my spine. I thought about back then in Golden Emperor, I was taken away by force for revenge because I identally provoked a customer. They saw that happened to me and did nothing, heartless bastards as well. What should I do? I couldn¡¯t stand letting them be bullied like that. ¡°Please, stop it.¡± I could hear them begging again and I turned my head towards the door. I peeked into the room and saw that the fatso was yanking one of the girl''s hair. Belongs to (N)?vel/Drama.Org. My nose started tingling looking at her tear-streaked face because I saw myself from the past in her. I couldn¡¯t do anything and was so frustrated! At this moment, Manager Molly walked pass the corridor and looked in my direction oddly. She then smiled wickedly at me. Chapter 3 Got Into Trouble Chapter 3 Got Into Trouble I finally understood why Molly who would always snatch the VIP rooms from me would generously give me this room. She knew that these people were ruffians. Thedies in the rooms all worked under me. If something happened, I would lose my position as the manager and might be getting myself into some trouble. Things were getting rowdy in the room. A few men yanked some girls forcefully over with a nasty smile on their face. These bastards! I was going crazy. I nced to the side and saw a half-broken bottle of alcohol by the trash can. I picked it up without hesitation. The part where it broke off was sharp as a de and was flickering under the faint light. ¡°Don¡¯t touch me, let go of me. Let go of me!¡± The crying and pleading noisesing from the room was making me rage. The fatso sounded so haughty and bossy, he was ordering his bootlicking underlings to be as rough as they wanted to. I knew that they were shit-faced and hence any rational words wouldn¡¯t go through them right now. The hatred in my soul was burning. I held the broken bottle and stomped into the room angrily. ¡°Barbara!¡± Thedies all hid behind me the moment they saw me. I was like a hen protecting her chicks as I put my hand up, protecting them from the front. My nose stung seeing the terrified look on their faces. ¡°Go out!¡± ¡°Yes!¡± The fatso was stunned because I suddenly barged in. He didn¡¯t say anything to stop them. Thedies were smart and they quickly ran out of the room. I could smell blood in the air in the room. The 8 men before me hadpletely lost it. I put on my best service smile and hid the broken bottle behind me. ¡°Good evening, I¡¯m the manager and my name is Barbara Cox. I apologize for the interruption, if you need anything else...¡± Wham! Before I could finish my sentence, someone pped me in the face. It was the fat guy. His eyes were bloodshot. ¡°Who the fuck are you? Why did you let the girls out? You sure are gutsy, ain¡¯t it? I am the customer here and the customer is king! Go make them alle back, I¡¯m going to make them lick my boots and apologize!¡± This bastard was not just joking around. My heart hurt thinking about how scared the girls looked. I wanted to protect them with all my might. I touched my swollen cheek and tried to put on my best smile. I bowed to the bastard and said, ¡°Sir, you should feel better now that you hit me. They are young and still na?ve, please do forgive them. I¡¯m their manager and it¡¯s my fault if they did something wrong.¡± The fatso looked at me eerily, his smirked sent a shiver down my spine. He reached out his fat hand This text is ? N?velDrama/.Org. and grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up to him. ¡°So, you¡¯re the manager?¡± ¡°Yes!¡± ¡°You¡¯re quite good looking. If you want to apologize on their behalf, put out a more sincere offer. Do you know what I want the most now?¡± He pointed at himself as he let me go. Chapter 4 Kenneth Quinn Chapter 4 Keh Quinn Truthfully, my blood started to boil madly. I grasped the broken bottle tightly in my hand and wanted to stab his stomach with it so badly. My hand trembled. But I didn¡¯t do it, I suppressed my urge. I couldn¡¯t afford to waste my youth in jail because of some bastards like him. In the spur of the moment, I thought of a n. I secretly threw the bottle away and forced a calm smile, ¡°Sir, I can apologize however you want me to. But first, I have to ask my boyfriend. I cannot do anything without his permission.¡± The fatso¡¯s eyes turned darker. He snickered and said, ¡°Do you know who am I? Who dare say no to me? I¡¯m Jordan Chan from the East Area!¡± My heart became heavy. His name was like thunders to my ears. He was infamous and was a vicious bastard. He had a bad reputation and was known for being vain. I had only heard of his name and never met him in person. Unfortunately, today was my unlucky day. What should I do? I would be shooting myself in the foot if I mentioned that name and it turned out that they knew each other. But I had started the lie and I had to see it till the end. ¡°Tell me, who¡¯s your boyfriend?¡± He probably realized that I was bluffing. His face turned darker. ¡°Ah, I see. It¡¯s you, Jordan. I¡¯m sorry that I didn¡¯t recognize you immediately and was treating you like that. Do you maybe know Keh? Well, he did mention your name several times. He said that you are generous and forgiving.¡± Keh? Keh Quinn?¡± ¡°Yes, him.¡± There was a hint of fear in his eyes. I was right that he was afraid of Keh. I let out a sigh of relief and thought that it was all over. But he smiled at me coldly, grabbed my hand and yanked me out of the room. He pushed open the door to the Rose Room and yelled. ¡°Mr. Quinn, is this your woman?¡± Jordon¡¯s voice was eerily wintry. The moment the door open, the people in the Rose Room quieted down. A bunch of people were talking about something by the couch table. They looked back at the same time and spread out simultaneously. A man in a suit who looked like he was in histe 20s was sitting on the sofa. He had a neatlybed Mohawk, and his facial features were striking. He had a pair of handsome eyebrows and his cold gaze Belongs to (N)?vel/Drama.Org. slowly turned towards the door. This had to be the rumoured Keh Quinn. ¡°Jordan, did nobody ever teach you the basic manners of knocking before you enter?¡± He frowned and stood up. Hisrge figure felt oppressing. He was terrifying and intimidating. I mustered up some baseless courage, flung off Jordan¡¯s hand and ran towards Keh. I buried my head into his chest. ¡°Keh, Jordan was going to¡ I told him that I was your girlfriend, and he didn¡¯t believe me.¡± I pulled the end of his shirt tightly and looked at him pleadingly. If he pushed me away and said that he didn¡¯t know me, I would be dead meat. I had to go all out! Keh squinted his eyes and stared at me for the longest time. He reached out his hand and ruffled my hair. He then looked at Jordan frigidly, ¡°Jordan, you wanted to¡ mess with my woman?¡± ¡°Oh, it was a misunderstanding. If she was really your woman, I wouldn¡¯t dare to touch a single hair. Please carry on, I¡¯m taking my leave!¡± Jordan was taken aback and was smiling as he tried to leave. Anky man by the wall took arge step forward and halted Jordan in his tracks. ¡°Don¡¯t be in such a rush. Tell me, who left the mark on her cheek?¡± Chapter 5 Not Someone You Can Afford to Mess With Chapter 5 Not Someone You Can Afford to Mess With ¡°Well, it was a misunderstanding¡¡± As Jordan was talking, his legs trembled. He went down on his knees. The man ignored him and started punching and kicking him. He was being as rough as he could. Keh sat down on the sofa and started drinking nonchntly. His pose was so elegant he looked like a prince. His clear yet chilly eyes were sizing me up and down and I was frightened to death. I couldn¡¯t leave and I didn¡¯t want to stay. I was stuck here. I had never met someone with such a big presence. He was just sitting there nonchntly, but he was giving out a formidable aura. I was thinking that since he didn¡¯t expose me in front of Jordan, he shouldn¡¯t probably hold anything against me after this. Something was going on between Keh and Jordan, his subordinate beat Jordan up really badly. Jordan¡¯s underlings were standing outside the door with their head hung low, not one came in to help their boss. ¡°Sir?¡± The man called out to Keh respectfully as he felt like he hit Jordan enough already. ¡°Clear up the room!¡± ¡°Yes!¡± The man nodded and kicked Jordan as hard as he could one more time, ¡°Walk with your eyes open next time, get lost!¡± ¡°Yes, yes!¡± Very quickly, Jordan¡¯s underlings rushed into the room and helped Jordan up. They ran away as quickly as they could and Jordan had blood all over his face. I was relieved and was about to thank Keh when I heard him said coldly, ¡°I have a lot of enemies. If you don¡¯t want to die so soon, don¡¯t use my name like that in the future.¡± ¡°¡Yes sir. I thank you very much, Mr. Quinn. I wouldn¡¯t be doing that again!¡± I knew that I shouldn¡¯t push my luck. The man didn¡¯t care about me using his name this time and I should be very grateful. I thought about pouring him a drink. I put up my best smile and walked over to do so, ¡°Mr. Quinn, I¡¯m very grateful for your help. Please let me pour you a drink.¡± ¡°Get lost!¡± I had to retract my hand hanging in the air awkwardly. I bowed deeply and left the room immediately. My legs gave out the moment I left the room. Thedies who were hiding in the corner quickly ran up to me, they looked at me teary-eyed. ¡°It¡¯s all good now, let¡¯s go!¡± This text is ? N?velDrama/.Org. I smiled as if nothing had happened, and the girls helped me back to the resting room. I called the front desk and found out that the bastard Jordan had a VIP card here. The money on the card was enough for him to spend a whole year here. I quickly removed my make-up and was going to go home after I changed. It was already 4 in the morning and I was exhausted. As I was about to leave, Iforted the girls again. I told them not to be worried about Jordon trying to take his revenge. I was about to be done with packing when Molly walked over with a creepy look on her face. She leaned on the door and looked at me in disdain. ¡°Barbara, I didn¡¯t know that you had ties with Keh Quinn. When did that happen? You¡¯re amazing.¡± I knew that she was looking for a fight just by hearing the uncanny tone of voice she was using with me. I managed to get more business than her and she hated me because of that. My rtionship with Keh was a fluke and hence I didn¡¯t want to say anything more. I pushed her out of the way gently. She didn¡¯t stop me, but she muttered something behind me. ¡°Just a reminder, he¡¯s not someone you can afford to mess with. You shouldn¡¯t y with fire if you don¡¯t want to die young. You better not push your luck if he¡¯s giving you the cold-shoulder already.¡± Chapter 6 Send You Off This Once Chapter 6 Send You Off This Once I furrowed my brows but I didn¡¯t turn around. This was because someone like her would get more worked up and agitated the more you argued with her. I wouldn¡¯t bother to continue this squabble with her. When I reached thest flight of stairs downstairs, I happened to see Keh together with his underling. They seemed to be waiting for their driver. I went over to greet them out of gratitude. He shot a sideway nce at me inquisitively, ¡°Are you alone?¡± ¡°That¡¯s right.¡± I nodded as I stole a nce at him. He was indeed very handsome, and it was the first time I met someone as impressive as him. Therefore, I was still terrified every time I recalled my actions just now. I was really too courageous. He knitted his brows and followed up with another question, ¡°Where do you stay?¡± ¡°In the JF Apartment. I am taking a taxi there.¡± ¡°Oh.¡± This text is ? N?velDrama/.Org. As we were engaged in our conversation, a Hummer vroomed to a stop at the main entrance, creating some noise. That underling of his immediately stepped forward to pull open the car door. He appeared to be extremely courteous. When Keh got into the car, he nced at me before muttering, ¡°Get in. I¡¯ll send you this once.¡± ¡°¡Thank you Mr. Quinn!¡± I was a little terrified, but I still got into his car. His underling settled into the passenger¡¯s seat with his eyes focused on a point in space in front of him. He didn¡¯t even steal any nce at me all the while. I was really curious as to how he was able to steel his heart in such way with the way he was able to be so unperturbed by everything. Perhaps people like them had already reached a very high level of existence in life. The car sped along the highway, and Keh was simply staring out of the window without making a sound. I sneaked a nce at him and realized that his side-profile was really heartrending. It would be a waste for someone as delicate as him not to be a star or artist. ¡°Have you worked in the ¡®Golden Emperor¡¯ before this?¡± He suddenly turned around and asked me, and I was not able to avert my gaze as his eyes met mine. I smiled guiltily and started to describe how I left that ce. However, I didn¡¯t include my experience of being framed in my story. Keh continued to listen to my past, but he didn¡¯tment on it. By the time I was going to alight his car, he asked, ¡°The boss there, Cooper, is not someone kind. Did he really allow you to leave without any conditions?¡± ¡°I¡¡± I suddenly blushed. Naturally, I couldn¡¯t tell him about how I was being framed that time. It was a really shameful part of my life, and it was something I would never want to bring up again. Even until today, I never knew the identity of that man. He was someone that caused me a lot of grief and pain in my memories. Keh didn¡¯t continue to pursue me as he continued coldly, ¡°Cooper is never the kind person, and maybe he won¡¯t do anything to you on the surface, but he is going to be on guard against you from the dark.¡± ¡°I will be careful about that. Thank you, Mr. Quinn. I will treat you to a meal next time!¡± For someone like Keh, he probably wouldn¡¯t be concerned with me treating him to a meal, but it was all I could do to repay his kindness. I said that to show my sincerity in contrast to really hoping for him to conform to my invitation. As expected, he shrugged casually and stopped talking. The man sitting in the passenger¡¯s seat turned around and watched me with a meaningful expression before turning back to face forward with a smile on his face. ¡°Mr. driver, can you please stop at the junction in front?¡± Seeing that I almost reached my condo, I hurriedly reminded the driver while I made sure I took all my stuff before getting out of the car. ¡°What is your name?¡± Keh suddenly asked. ¡°Barbara Cox.¡± ¡°I mean your real name.¡± ¡°¡Jessica Shaw.¡± In reality, I was never one to disclose my real name to strangers, but in front of Keh, I found myself unable to do that. I didn¡¯t dare to refuse answering him. When the car stopped, I nervously got off the car and never looked back. The car light was cast at my back, and I knew for a fat that Keh¡¯s car was still there. I didn¡¯t know the purpose to his questions, because as far as I knew, I didn¡¯t have any impression of him. We shouldn¡¯t have met before this. Chapter 7 A Joke Made by God Chapter 7 A Joke Made by God I lived in a small unit on the eighth floor of Block A. It was a simple unit with a single living room and bedroom, and the monthly rental was two thousand yuan. When I reached the second floor, I saw my mother standing by the door with a horrified expression. Her eyes were swollen, indicating the chance that she had just cried. With my heart sinking, I moved towards her uneasily. ¡°Mum, why are you here?¡± ¡°Jessica, Daniel is sick now with neonatal sepsis, which was caused by his high fever. He¡¯s currently being operated on in the hospital, and I couldn¡¯t reach your phone all the time, so I could onlye here. Why are you home at thiste hour? Were you working overtime just now?¡± ¡°Yes, it has been busy for me in thepany. Mum, which hospital is Daniel staying in?¡± I lied to her face, which made me feel bad. Daniel was an ident that happenedst time when I was framed. At that time, I nned to abort him, since I wasn¡¯t married yet. However, the doctor had given me a verdict, telling me that the wall of my womb was too thin. If I had aborted a child that time, the probability of me getting pregnant again was close to zero. Hence, I had given birth to that child although I wasn¡¯t married, and I had named him Daniel. My father¡¯s condition worsened because of this, and in the end he left us because he couldn¡¯t be saved. Later on, I used all of my savings and bought a two-bedroom unit in the countryside and took my mother there so that she could take care of the child. My mother wasn¡¯t literate her whole life, so she was a woman without her own opinions. She never dug deep into my life and my work. During the time when my child was just born, in the span of just a few months, all of my savings were almost gone. Therefore, I had to work after my month of confinement in childbirth. I studied interior design when I was in university, and my mother always thought that I was working in a foreign corporate, never suspecting anything. I hoped that she would never learn of the truth forever so that she could live in peace. Content bel0ngs to N?vel(D)r/a/ma.Org. The phone number I had given him did not belong to thepany, and I had left the phone at home. This was because I was afraid that once the others there knew of the existence of my child, they would start spreading nonsense. All the while, I thought that giving birth to Daniel was out of my choice because it was such an ident and I never anticipated his arrival in the first ce. However, the moment I knew that he was sick, I somehow felt fearful! In the end, slowly but surely, I learnt to be a mother. I pulled along my mother as we jogged on the streets, but there wasn¡¯t many taxis now. We had to tread along the road for a while before seeing one, and I almost pounced onto it just to stop it. While we were on the way, my mother couldn¡¯t stop crying as she med herself for Daniel¡¯s condition. She had been saying that Daniel wouldn¡¯t be sick if it were not for her carelessness. I turned to face the window as I secretly wiped off my tears. How could I me her? He was a lonely old hag who hade to M City to take care of my child. She had done everything in her power for me. Moreover, who couldpare to me in terms of being cruel? I had left Daniel after only one month of his life, and he was almost four months old now, but the times when I went back to visit him could be counted on one hand. I got myself extremely drunk at the club, and I only returned home at dawn with an alcoholic scent all over me. The next day, I emerged from my ce at night, and repeated the same cycle all over again. Every time I got a hold of real money, that was when I felt that everything turned from being surreal to reality. Only when I had money that Daniel and mother could live a good life. I only went back home once every two weeks, and after apanying Daniel for a day or two, I would return to work. Every time, he would stare at me curiously, and there was an innocent smile on his face. I always found myself speechless every time Iid eyes on his face. My life was painful but there was still something to be happy about! Chapter 8 Speechless Chapter 8 Speechless When I arrived at the hospital, Daniel was still in the surgical theatre. Pa was standing by the door as if standing guard, and she immediately stood up at the sight of us. She was a contract cleaner I had hired to clean up mother¡¯s house from time to time. This text is ? N?velDrama/.Org. ¡°Ms. Shaw, the doctor asked about the whereabouts of his rtives, and I told him that you were on the way.¡± ¡°Pa, I am really grateful towards you.¡± I was really moved by Pa. Pa was really a down-to-earth person who even came to apany my mother sote at night. Seeing that it was almost dawn, I shoved a five-hundred yuan note into her palms and urged her to go back home. Both me and my mother who were waiting outside the surgical theatre looked at each other with teary eyes. We didn¡¯t have words at the moment. I reached out to wipe off the tears on her face, and while I wanted to console her, my tears gushed forth the moment I opened my mouth. ¡°Jessica, don¡¯t you think you should ask Daniel¡¯s dad toe take a look at him? He is in such a dire situation now.¡± My mother always thought that I have parted ways with Daniel¡¯s father and given birth to him on my own. She never made it clear, but I knew that she was very conscious about the fact that Daniel didn¡¯t have a father by his side. My mother was one traditional-minded woman who saw husband as the focal point of her life, so naturally I didn¡¯t have the courage to disclose to her the truth. ¡°Mum, we have broken up long ago. Can you stop mentioning him again?¡± I sniffed while I replied. ¡°Do you really want to live your life like this? Why do you reek of alcohol? And you¡¯re alwaysing homete.¡± ¡°I have business gatherings in thepany. I can¡¯t pull myself out of it.¡± I turned my face away, not wanting to meet my mother in her eyes. Although she wasn¡¯t highly educated, but she was very thoughtful and cautious. If she continued to dig deeper, there was a chance that I wouldn¡¯t be able to keep lying. ¡°Jessica, you¡¯re only twenty-two now. If you have any suitable prospect for your future partner, you should consider. I have gone through your age long ago, and I know that a woman has to have a partner by her side.¡± ¡°Mum, I¡¯m sorry, if it were not for me, dad wouldn¡¯t¡¡± ¡°You foolish child. Didn¡¯t I tell you before? Your father¡¯s matter is not your fault. He was already counting down the days.¡± My mother sighed and looked away to wipe off some tears before continuing with a heavy heart, ¡°s, if you didn¡¯t borrow so much money to try to cure his disease, I¡¯m afraid he would be gone earlier that he had. I understand him very well. He was just feeling angry at himself for dragging us down.¡± A sourness immediately overcame me as I recalled the time when I had just graduated. I was twenty then. My father had contracted cancer, and we needed a lot of money. Without any other way, I saw and advertisement by the Golden Emperor, and I had gone to beg to Cooper to lend me two hundred thousand yuan. I even dished out my graduation certificate and documents about my studies to prove myself. Indeed, he had lent me money, but he had also smashed all of my arrogance into smithereens. He had asked me to crawl in between his legs like a dog while I was begging him. I had done just that! From that moment on, I became the manager of the club, and I had to use two years to return all of the debt to Mr. Chan. Just as I was about to pull out of this industry and stopped this work, I was framed by someone. Since then, a child entered my life. Not even my father and mother had known of this. They always thought that their daughter who had graduated from high school had entered a reputablepany, and she would have a great future. To smash that expectation into pieces, the matter of me getting pregnant before marriage had broken their hearts and made them lose face. I wanted to earn a lot of money, no, I wanted to earn a huge sum so that my mother would be proud of me, so that when Daniel grew up, nobody would poke his spine andugh at him for being an illegitimate child¡ But now¡ I looked at the glowing signboard on top of the surgical theatre, and my heart was dripping in blood. Although Daniel was an ident bestowed upon me by God, he was still my flesh and blood. I could still feel the pain he was suffering from, and I was afraid that his fragile body could not fight against the suffering. ¡°Who is Daniel¡¯s family here?¡± Before I could wipe off my tears, the door to the surgical theatre suddenly flung open. The assistant surgeon immediately asked us that. I hurriedly rushed over and nodded, and while I stare at the surgeon¡¯s eyes and held my breath, I was afraid that the next sentence that came out of his mouth would be something I couldn¡¯t ept. ¡°Are you his mother?¡± The surgeon scanned me briefly. Perhaps due to the scent of alcohol on my body, he furrowed his brows unhappily. I felt a little shameful. ¡°What is wrong with you? How can you only send him here now? He has no detrimental danger at the moment, but he needs to stay in the ICU for observation for a few days. Please go through the hospitalization procedureter.¡± Chapter 9 The Meeting of Enemies Chapter 9 The Meeting of Enemies After making sure all procedures were done, it was almost daybreak. There were more and more people in the hospital now. After a sleepless night, I felt myself losing almost all of my strength. I craved for some sleep now, but whenever Iid eyes on my exhausted mother outside the ward, I forced myself to stay vignt. ¡°Mum, you can go back and have some rest now. Come over after this.¡± I feared that her stamina wouldn¡¯t hold since she was in her fifties. A nerve-wracking and sleepless Belongs to (N)?vel/Drama.Org. night might prove too much for her. She shook her head while sobbing, determined not to leave the ward. I knew that she was ming herself for this, but I never med her in the first ce. If she didn¡¯t ept Daniel wholeheartedly from the start, I might have already broken down. I took off my coat and covered her with it, and I held her now chilly hands. I felt extremely regrettable. ¡°Mum, don¡¯t you worry. Nothing will happen to Daniel. I will go get some breakfast for you, so please sit here and rest.¡± ¡°Jessica, I¡¯m sorry, your mother is useless¡¡± ¡°Mum, stop with that nonsense¡¡± My mother made me feel guilty with how regrettable she was. This was originally my mistake, but she was shouldering the me for me. I had no words for that as I hurriedly left the hospital to look for somewhere to buy some breakfast. My mother hailed from the north, so she always fancied some soy milk. However, it was not easy to procure something like that in M city, and only after a long while I was able to discover a shop selling that. When I stepped into the shop, I saw someone I was really reluctant to meet: Cooper Chan. What surprised me the most was that Molly was sitting opposite him. She was drinking some soy drink with a convoluted expression. When she saw me, she seemed to freeze for a second before suddenly revealing a strange smile. ¡°Hey, why are you here too?¡± She seemed reluctant to meet me, so her tone was one of arrogance and pride. In actuality, I wanted to excuse myself from the little shop, but since Cooper had seen me, I could only move towards him and greet him. ¡°Mr. Chan, long time no see.¡± ¡°Hey, Barbara. Do you want to eat together?¡± ¡°Thank you, Mr. Chan. I am here to takeaway some food. Enjoy your meal.¡± I rejected his offer while I urged the waiter to help me pack some soy milk and fried donuts. Cooper was pretty famous in the East Area, and he was managing a leisure resort and a seafood restaurant. The rumoured JQ Hotel which was famous around here had him as one of the shareholders. The aforementioned facts were not important at all. What¡¯s important was that he was Jordan¡¯s little brother. He was really someone who was very scheming and thoughtful, and nobody could see through his actions. In truth, he had extended his helping hand to me when I needed help the most so he could be considered my saviour in some way, despite that his way of extending help was the most unusual. Molly seemed discontented with my neutral response, so when I was paying for the food, she spoke loudly on the side, ¡°Mr. Chan, Barbara is Keh¡¯s woman now, so why would she eat with us? Unlike me, your pretty sweetheart who is always loyal to you.¡± ¡°Molly, stop creating trouble out of nowhere!¡± I turned to face Molly and red at her, and she returned me an unfriendly gaze too. I couldn¡¯t discern the nature of her rtionship with Cooper, so I didn¡¯tsh back at her. On the other hand, Cooper nced at me meaningfully, which caused a chill to run down my spine. ¡°Barbara, if you have time, you should pay me some visit at my club. We have been old acquaintances, so you shouldn¡¯t act so cold with me.¡± ¡°I will definitely pay you a visit sometimeter, Mr. Chan. I am going now, you guys please enjoy your day. Molly, my private stuff has nothing to do with you, so you should refrain from twisting the story. Mr. Chan is a great person, he wouldn¡¯t like you spouting such nonsense.¡± After I said that, I turned to leave in the hopes that Cooper would understand that there¡¯s nothing special between Keh and me. They were both terrifying figures in the underground scene, with which I didn¡¯t want to have anything to do with. ¡°Barbara, wait a minute.¡± After only taking a few steps out of the shop, Cooper suddenly halted me, and I was so startled that I almost dropped the food in my hands. Chapter 10 Some of My Sincerity Chapter 10 Some of My Sincerity I turned around and looked at him while my heart was racing. I didn¡¯t know whether he knew about what happenedst night. If he somehow did, would he stand up for Jordan? That bastard wouldn¡¯t just swallow that dissatisfaction silently without doing anything. ¡°Mr. Chan, is there anything else?¡± I smiled sheepishly. Content bel0ngs to N?vel(D)r/a/ma.Org. ¡°I heard that you are pretty unhappy working under Toby? If you think you are not earning enough, you cane back to my club.¡± I was really shocked that Cooper was inviting me to work for him again. The pain and suffering inflicted by the Golden Emperor were too much for me to recover from. I would never want to go back again. ¡°You should forget about the past. I see highly of your ability, and I hope you cane back.¡± He said after a pause. ¡°Thank you, Mr. Cooper, but let¡¯s forget about it. I am going to retire from this scene very soon too.¡± I always held true to my goal of restarting again, and I would definitely leave this damn ce. Cooper revealed a strange smile and said, ¡°I see. I won¡¯t insist then. This is my newest name card, you can always call me if you change your mind. The doors of the Golden Emperor are always weing you.¡± ¡°¡Got it!¡± I epted the name card while nodding before leaving with my heart full of suspicion. It had been a year since Cooperst got in touch with me, so why did he suddenly be so ttering? Did he really not know about the matter of Jordan getting battered to the point of bleeding all over? I stole a nce at Molly and discovered that she was ring at me with a hideous expression on her face. Her gaze was so cold that she seemed like she wanted to swallow me whole. I was really perplexed by their behaviours. What were they scheming? One of them looked cheerful, while the other was looking really upset. When I returned to the hospital, my mother was soundly asleep leaning on a chair. Her tired face looked slightly swollen, which made me feel pity for her. When I put down the soy milk, she started from her sleep. She then stared at me with a nk face. ¡°Jessica, did I fall asleep?¡± ¡°Yes. You must be too tired.¡± ¡°I dreamt of your father. He said that he missed us a lot, and he wanted to see our grandchild.¡± I handed the soy milk and fried donuts to my mother before standing in front of the ICU ward and scanning the interior. I saw no sign of Daniel. The doctor told me that although he no longer had any detrimental danger, he was off limits for any visitation as long as he wasn¡¯t transferred to a normal ward. The cost of rehabilitating in the ICU was heavy. After paying the hospitalization fee totalling to thirty thousand yuan, I almost used up all of my money. Coupled with my house loan and living cost, I suddenly felt that it was hard to make ends meet. It seemed that I had no choice but to return to work at night again. I didn¡¯t want my mother to exhaust herself too much, and I managed to convince her to go back home to rest. I hired a special care worker to help look after Daniel, but this only increased my expenditure further. The fear of having not enough money was starting to get to me. Hence, I stayed outside the ICU until evening before leaving like a ghost silently. I called my mother and told her that I would look after the child all night long, so that she wouldn¡¯t need toe back herself. She was sobbing at the other end for some time before hanging up, which caused my heart to ache. As I exited the hospital, the night sky was drizzling and the clouds looked dark. Neon lights were illuminating the streets, which resembled the ghastly light of the after world. I hurriedly scurried towards the bus stop with an uneasy feeling. It was the beginning of summer, yet I was feeling a kind of creep in my heart. I wished so badly for a shoulder to lean against and someone to listen to my ramblings, but¡ ¡°Son of a bitch. It seems like enemies always bump into each other!¡± All of a sudden, a gloomy voice sounded behind me. Chapter 11 Helping Out Chapter 11 Helping Out Hearing the voice, I knew that enemies were bound to meet. That''s Jordan''s underling, Luca, the guy who pped the bar girlsst night. I had never lost with my strong aura to such people who would bully the weak and fear the strong. I straightened up my back and nced at him coldly, ¡°What¡¯s up, do you want to die?¡± ¡°You''re the fucking one who wants to die! Bitch, why are you so fucking arrogant?¡± Luca looked left and right, called a few ferocious looking men toe over, they probably thought that I was alone so they wanted to beat me up. N?vel(D)rama.Org''s content. I groaned, ¡°Try me if you dare, let''s see how crippled you''ll be.¡± ¡°Bitch, who the fuck are you bluffing at? You think that we''re fools?¡± Luca shouted, his face looked so hideous as it was distorted strangely. ¡°If you''re not scared, then what are you cowering for?¡± My guts were quite experienced. Facing a bluffer like Luca, as long as I could pressurize him with enough imposing manner, he wouldn''t even dare to do anything. Several people surrounded me in a half-moon shape, they were eager for a fight, I pretended to be strong and rxed. If it weren''t raining, sweats on my forehead would have given it away. I was actually afraid of these people, it would be fine if I was alone, but I had a child and my mother, so I absolutely couldn''t be terrified. Luca kept turning the flick knife round and round, but he didn''t dare to do anything to me from the very start, even his expression slowly looked like he''s terrified. I thought he considered me as fearless and Iughed in disdain because of his weakness, ¡°If you really want to beat me then I''ll keep youpany, but please write your death note first, so that people can identify and im your corpse.¡± I thought that I went over the line for this arrogant act. ¡°Bitch, just wait and see!¡± Who would''ve thought that after Luca shouted fiercely, several people ran away like rabbits. I waspletely shocked by my own imposing manner so I couldn''t help stroking my face, I didn''t feel like it was so hideous. I heaved a sigh, turned around, and wanted to go to the station... I saw a tall and slender man holding an umbre not far from me, like a cruel grim reaper under the rain. The umbre covered his look, but I still felt a strong evil auraing out of his body, he''s Keh. Then I knew that Luca ran away because of his strong domineering aura, and nothing to do with me. He somehow stood behind me, making me feel so ashamed. ¡°That... Thank you for helping me out.¡± I walked over and smiled, feeling so embarrassed. ¡°Get into the car!¡± He didn¡¯t speak much, he just turned around and walked to the ck Mercedes Benz on the other side of the road... I followed behind him dejectedly, feeling quite frightened. He didn''t bring bodyguards that time so I just sat on the front passenger seat. He didn''t ask where I was going, he just stepped on the gas and dashed away. I had been having a sense of awe for him, after all he was too unreal. In my life, there was no such person had ever showed up. I didn''t dare to speak all the way because I was frightened by his invisible aura. He drove to a private vi in the West Area, which covered several thousand square meters and built spectacrly. There were garden,wn, and a mini golf field. There¡¯s a guard by the gate, seeing his car driving in, he bowed in exactly 90 degrees. He parked his car by the door and guided me into the vi. The hall''s decoration was simple and atmospheric, with a sense of extraordinary dignity. All the decorations were unique with a sense of natural design. I studied design, so I couldn''t help taking more nces. ¡°There''s a bathroom if you turn left upstairs, go and clean yourself.¡± when I was staring at the decoration enthusiastically, I heard Keh''s cold voiceing from my back. ¡°I...¡± Chapter 12 Fear Chapter 12 Fear Clean myself? I looked down at my body, was I very dirty? Did he want to do something to me ? I was not interested in him at all. Furthermore, even though I worked in the club, my private life wasn''t that bad as you imagined. I was not a graceful woman,or I was not like someone who had no bottom line as a human being. Of course these weren''t the important things, the important thing was how could I smear such a cute son''s face. ¡°I hate woman that smells like alcohol!¡± As if Keh saw through my sloppy thoughts, he groaned in disdain. I immediately blushed and hurriedly ran upstairs. The style on the upper floor waspletely different from the lower floor, like it was another world, it''s a series of dark colors. Even the tiles and bathtubs in the bathroom were paved with ck marble, very oppressive. I walked into the bathroom and identally nced to the mirror, only then I realized that my face looked so horrible. I had always put on heavy make up in the club,st night Dan was sick so I didn''t remove my make-up... Just now after getting rained on, my face became full of the ck mascara liquid, looking like a ghost. I really admired Keh, he kept pretending all the way without reminding me. I washed myself thoroughly, but I didn''t dare to go outside even after wearing my bathrobe. The pale and terrifying face on the mirror was mine¡ Without heavy make-up concealing it, I was like a wolf that lost its teeth and cowered. Furthermore, wouldn''t I be inciting people''s imaginations by wearing such clothes? ¡°You''re not done yet?¡± N?vel(D)rama.Org''s content. The voice out the door shocked me so badly I hurriedly opened the door and saw Keh casually leaning on the door frame. He had changed into a casual clothes so he seemed more cheerful. ¡°I... Disturbed you.¡± I was so restless, especially when I had no make-up on, I didn''t dare to look straight into his eyes. He paused before suddenly hugging me in a firm embrace with his slender arms. I was dumbfounded, he couldn''t have... ¡°Mr. Quinn, I-I...¡± ¡°Why, you''re scared that I''ll fuck you?¡± he pinched my chin up, forcing me to look up to him. His sharp eyes scanned my face, making me so terrified, "Didn''t you announce to the public that you''re my woman?¡± ¡°Sorry, I didn''t do it on purpose, I... Umph!¡± Suddenly, he lowered his head and kissed my lips, I unexpectedly couldn''t react to it. His lips were so soft, cold, with a faint mint vor. My old memories suddenly got awakened, that night, in that dark room, that insane kissing and possessing... These weren''t important, the most important thing was that faint mint vor. ¡°Let me go, let me go!¡± I screamed and I somehow got the strength to push him away, the fear in my heart rose so suddenly and I was so scared that I curled and squatted with my arms around myself weakly. In my mind, there was the extreme pain, I hate, I hate that damned man for having me for a night. At that time, I woke up at the hospital, and I left dejectedly after staying a week under the nurses'' sneers. When I recalled those memories, I wish I could stab myself with a sharp knife every time. Keh''s damned kiss brought my memories back, those dark and gloomy days made me extremely sad. He looked down on me from his position like he was looking at an lowly ant. Chapter 13 Bestowing Favors Chapter 13 Bestowing Favors I didn¡¯t know how I escaped from Keh Quinn¡¯s house. It was already eight o¡¯clock at night when I came to work. Molly hade too. She still showed a frowny face when she saw me. I was not in the mood to care about this. After changing my clothes, I sat and dazed at a corner while thinking of Keh in my mind. He didn¡¯t do anything to me after I pushed him away. He even asked someone to send me a dress to wear. I was sad because I was reminded of a sad memory that happened to me in the past. The unbearable memory that a man had raped and impregnated me on that painful night. Until now, Keh was the second person who had kissed me. And the first time was that damned animal that night. I didn¡¯t love either of them. I even hated them. When I was studying, I always hoped that I would meet a man who loved me and I loved one day. The girls gathered around me after they realized that I was depressed. They talked something about Jordon Chan. They said that he was beaten up and hospitalized. It seemed that he could not discharge from the hospital without four or five days. The girls who were bulliedst night were very happy after they knew the news. However, I was the only one who had a lot of worries on my mind. Jordon didn¡¯t seem like a person who could swallow his anger as he had behaved badly in the past. He mighte back to make trouble to the girls. My child needed money for medical treatment. I could not afford to lose this good-paying job. What should I do? I started to think of some precautionary measures. After thinking about it, I could only remind Toby Jones about this matter. I was about to meet Mr. Jones before the customers came. Yet, Molly suddenly came in and looked at me with an arrogant look. ¡°Barbara, I have a very important customeringter. I think Lily is suitable to serve this customer.¡± I felt ufortable after listening to her tone of speaking as if she was bestowing favors on us. However, I recalled that Lily was unlucky in the past two days so I gave Lily a nce and wanted to Belongs to (N)?vel/Drama.Org. know her intention. Chapter 14 Bottom Line Chapter 14 Bottom Line ¡°Thank you, Ms. Molly. However, Jade has already asked for my help. She has a customering Perhaps Molly didn¡¯t expect she would be rejected and her face looked angry. ¡°I am sorry, Ms. Molly. The customer will get angry.¡± Suddenly, Molly showed a sullen face. She murmured ¡®Bitch was always bitchy¡¯ and walked away. I wanted to fight back but Lily pulled me while shaking her head and told me to forget about it. Out of curiosity, I asked Lily why didn¡¯t she go as it was such a good opportunity? She smiled and wrapped her arms around my arm, ¡°Ms. Cox, what kind of person she is. I would rather not earn that kind of money.¡± ¡°You are silly!¡± I knew that they hated Molly. It was almost time and the guests would be here soon so I went into a room in the lounge and called the special nurse in the hospital to ask about Dan¡¯s condition. He had already slept and it seemed that he was in a good form. He would be transferred to a regr ward after a few days. The special nurse¡¯s words made me feel excited and my eyes almost became teary again. I took a long time to calm myself before I went back to the lounge. Yet, Mr. Jones¡¯s voice sounded on the walkie-talkie, ¡°Barbara, are you busy now? Come here if you are not busy.¡± ¡°I am not busy yet. I aming now!¡± I briefed a few words to the girls and went upstairs to the office hurriedly. Toby Jones didn¡¯t like noise so his office was the only quiet ce in the club. The office door was not closed properly. I knocked on the door and walked into the office without waiting for him to answer. He was drinking tea while sitting on the sofa. He waved at me and poured a cup of tea for me warmly. ¡°Barbara,e and have a sit.¡± ¡°Mr. Jones, what can I do for you?¡± ¡°Haha, nothing. I just want to chat with you. Molly and you are the pirs of my club. It has been a long time since I had chatted with you.¡± ¡°Mr. Jones, please tell me if you have something to say. Please stop making fun of me.¡± I slightly knew about Toby¡¯s personality. This club was invested by his wife and him. Besides loving money, he also loved to gamble. However, he didn¡¯t simply make any friends so he was still considered a normal person. He was not a busybody but there must be something if he asked someone to meet alone. He nodded whileughing and stopped beating around the bush after hearing my words. He held the teacup and drank the tea for a long time. He said, ¡°Barbara, you and Keh Quinn¡¡± ¡°I am not his girlfriend. However, the matter that happened yesterday was too sudden. I had no choice but to use him as an excuse.¡± So, it was about this matter. I didn¡¯t hide the matter from him and I told him about the whole incident. Of Content bel0ngs to N?vel(D)r/a/ma.Org. course, I didn¡¯t say that I had met Keh again. He rubbed his hands and sighed as if he felt relieved. ¡°Mr. Jones, why are you asking about him?¡± ¡°Barbara, you must not be angry about what I am going to say. If you are not willing to do this then forget about it and ignore what I have said.¡± He had me mentally prepared first. Could it be something rted to Jordon Chan? I nodded with doubts and waited for him to continue speaking. However, he thought about it for a long time and said, ¡°Barbara, Jordon called me and told me that he wants you to apany him. You could request anything.¡± Chapter 15 Be Careful Chapter 15 Be Careful Toby Jones¡¯ words shocked me for a long time before I coulde back to my senses and shook my head at him. ¡°Mr. Jones, I informed you about my personal boundaries when I came here, so please respect me!¡± I knew that, as a boss, he would have considered it as a good advantage. My refusal came as no surprise to Mr. Jones, he shrugged his shoulders and said only a few words, ¡°In that case, I won¡¯t force you. Anyway, Barbara, you should know that Mr. Chan is not a very nice person, This text is ? N?velDrama/.Org. he¡¯s very harsh and cruel, and also vile. I will say no more, but be careful!¡± ¡°Thank you, Mr. Jones!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t say thank you. I just gave you an advice, make good use of it! But if you really have a friendship with Mr. Quinn, no problem then, because Mr. Chan does not enjoy the same prestige as he does.¡± ¡°So... Mr. Chan knew that I was lying?¡± ¡°He was beaten up, it¡¯s definitely not what he could endure. He asked somebody to inquire about your background, he then came up with the matter for three days. However, I can¡¯t decide for you, if you want to go then you can fix the price by yourself, moreover I¡¯m sure that if you make it, and you will be safe. If you decide not to go, it¡¯s ok for me, but if something bad happens, don¡¯t say I didn¡¯t warn you!¡± Mr. Jones was very clear, he won¡¯t take any responsibility even I could be dead. Anyway, I got from his words that he actually hoped I would go. After all, Mr. Chan was a precious customer for him so it was better to keep him well hooked. Of course, I didn¡¯t expect Mr. Jones to protect me, so I nodded and I told him, ¡°Mr. Jones, don¡¯t worry about me, I only wish you can consider my humble request!¡± ¡°What request?¡± ¡°If I leave one day, please take care of the girls for me.¡± ¡°Barbara, you don¡¯t even need to ask me for this, I won¡¯t force them to do what they don¡¯t want to, of course I will take care of them. Anyway, I don¡¯t want to lose you, you are so smart, I really like you.¡± ¡°I won¡¯t leave unless I have no choice. Don¡¯t worry!¡± ¡°Ok, you can go now!¡± After I went out of office, I was quite anxious. I felt just like a hand grenade exploded in my heart. Mr. Jones¡¯ words, especially the adjectives he used to describe Mr. Chan, ¡°harsh, cruel and vile¡±, made me very frightened. I was sure that if I said no to Mr. Chan, there would be some consequences, in the best case, he will start with an endless harassment; in the worst case, he will break my arm or leg, or maybe kill me. Oh, my God! I was so out of luck! But I felt motivated when I thought about Dan who was getting better from his illness. Carrying a professional smile on my face, I went to the reception desk and I asked about the rooms reserved for the girls. Even Molly was there, her face darkened. Although she had many girls under her, none of them was particrly outstanding, moreover it wasn¡¯tmon to reserve ten rooms at once. But what made her more upset was that my girls were the most brilliant performers on the stage. She was acting arrogantly to me, but I didn¡¯t give importance to her. When I remembered the room numbers of the girls, I took the catwalk and left. Chapter 16 Spend the Night with Me Chapter 16 Spend the Night with Me I just arrived at the staircase when a big hand seized me. I stiffened but was ready to hit back, out of instincts. What stopped me from hitting back was a chiselled face looking at me at close range and carrying a slight smile. ¡°Mr. Quinn, it¡¯s you!¡± I was astonished. ¡°Are you very surprised?¡± When he realized that I recognized him, Keh Quinn quickly let go of me. Then he stared at my face andmented with a frown, ¡°Hmm, I think you look better without makeup.¡± ¡°¡ makeup is for work.¡± I mocked. ¡°Well, the saying goes, ¡®a girl dolls herself up for her admirer¡¯, your makeup is so ugly, because you don¡¯t have an admirer, do you?¡± ¡°Er ¡ it isn¡¯t so bad, or?¡± I touched my face, feeling deeply embarrassed. Luckily, it was already dark, otherwise, he would notice that I was blushing. ¡°Ugly, it¡¯s horrendous!¡± He even pinched my face, I stepped back and protested in a girlish manner. It felt a lot like we were flirting at that scene. ¡°Hey, Mr. Quinn, wee, wee. I¡¯m Molly, the manager here. May I ask, are you here by yourself? Would you like a big room or small one?¡± Even before the high-pitched voice from my back came to stop, Molly had already past where I was standing. Her sexy body glided graciously towards Mr. Quinn. Standing in front of him now, with exaggerated movements, she wanted to caress his body. ¡°Go away!¡± Kehmanded icily, along with a cold expression. Molly dared not trifle with Keh, she retreated quickly and bowed, half respectfully, half-jokingly. Keh reached out for my hand and announced in a volume that was neither too loud nor too soft. ¡°Next time when I visit, remember to appear right on time. Otherwise, I¡¯ll search the whole ce ¡°Okay!¡± I did notprehend why he was so kind to me. I had to admit though, the unfriendly stare he gave Molly earlier on brought me some secret satisfaction. Even though I had not wanted to stoop so low as to have apetition with Molly, it did not mean that I like her. I was secretly gleeful over her being disfavored. When I nced back at her, I saw that her expression was as cold as frost. Inexplicably, it sent ufortable vibes in my heart. At this ce, having an enemy could be a very dangerous affair. Then I noticed that Keh was staring at me the whole time, I asked uneasily, ¡°Mr. Quinn, how big is your party? How big a room do you require?¡± ¡°Just myself!¡± ¡°¡ then let me get you a small room.¡± I led him into a small room. Just as we barely stepped into the room, he pressed me against the wall. He started kissing me forcefully. That caught me off guardpletely, yet I did not push him away. Firstly, it was because I had in mind what Toby Jones told me before, if I could get close to Keh Quinn, who was an important figure, it would basically mean that I had my ticket to security. Secondly, I N?vel(D)rama.Org''s content. was very curious why his minty breath was so strong. ¡°Jess, spend the night with me, would you?¡± He released the kiss on my lips and whispered this question.
